America played no major part in ground fighting in WWI. America declared war in 1917 but the first ground troops in the AEF didn't engage in fighting till 1918 and only fought in a few major battles. We didn't save England from anything as it is pretty much known that the German military machine was already much into a worse decline then the English and French military machines.

Finally if we look at Vietnam that was political stupidity at it's finest. The executive branch deciding what you could and could not attack. Basically no major industrial facilities were hit and by the time a president got in office that knew what to do they already had a standing army...which in all major battles never beat American forces. That war was "lost", I use the "" because a peace treaty was offered which Vietnam took but we never secured South Vietnam.
Lastly, wars we fought from start to end. The Korean War, The Spanish-American War, The Mexican-American War, the War of 1812, and the Revolutionary War. I get the feeling I am missing a few more. But I really don't count the Civil War for obvious reasons or the Indian Wars..though I could easily count those if I wanted which bumps the total up a good bit.
