  • they didnt give me anything but a very painful numbing shot during both of my root canals!! I dont get y other people had to have laughing gas the shot was enough for me..

  • @likeemdark88 Thank you for your comment. You are fortunate that all you need is a needle. Unlike most people, I do not take freezing well. They put a barrage of needles in my mouth and within a short time, I feel pain. So the laughing gas was used to assist in furthering the anaesthetic process. I don't laugh. Just relax more.

Thanks for commenting. That is a really good thing that all you need is a bit of freezing.

  • @likeemdark88 I use it to calm my anxiety down so im able to get the shot and the operation done. I hate shot's it my month and I hate the dentist period and N20 really helps me get through it.

  • do they put u on gas before or after a the shot??

  • @CSAmerican

    Hi!

Yes, in this case they gave me the NO2 prior to giving me a mixture of 3 different numbing agents. I am a tough cookie, so I need a lot of freezing.

    Thanks for asking!

  • @CSAmerican

Hi and thanks for the question. The answer is different for every procedure. I think it depends on the dentist and the condition of the patient or why they are taking NO2. For me, I have the needle first then the gas to relax me. Others might take the gas first to ease them into having any further freezing, if they choose to.

Many who use NO2, use the gas alone without any freezing.

    I hope this helps!

  • I loooove Nitrous. When I got my root canal, my doctor said something that caused me to bust up giggling (no idea what it was now), and his response was "...Let's put a little more oxygen in that mask for ya."

  • @caitykitola

    Yup, that sounds about right!

  • @Messa76 I was all smiley and happy.. And My dentist said "You see why they call it laughing gas?" And I just busted out hysterically and everyone was laughing and it was AWESOMMMMMME!

  • @silentmason

I'm happy that you had such a positive reaction. I don't react much at all. I feel very calm more than anything else at all.

    Everyone is different.

    Thanks for your comment.

    :-)

  • @Messa76 Haha. You're welcome. It looks silly... the nose cup. Haha :-)

  • I've been put on nitrous. I stopped breathing and had a panic attack. I ripped the mask off, punched my dentist, and ran like there was no tomorrow. I'm not allowed to go to that dentist anymore.

  • @rockit3661

    FOR REALZ????

    THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN!

    hahaha

  • I was on nitrous when i was getting my wisdom teeth pulled and there was a tv in the ceiling above the dentist chair to watch to keep you occupied while you're laying back getting work done and i was watching a cop show and they were doing a re-enactment of a gang shoot out and i swear to god i thought the bullets were ricocheting around the room i was so high!

  • @donny29dsm

Never heard of such a severe reaction. I remember only giggling once! :-)

  • Lawl!

  • @hamandbaloni
