  • What is it with those style vs style videos.

    It is MMA.

Genki Sudo does it all: kickboxing, wrestling, grappling.

Und even Royler has probabley trained some in striking and wrestling.

Reason Sudo wins is because he is better MMA competitor than Royler.

    Noth because of his wrestling.

  • ¿no que siempre ganaba brazil? jajajaj

  • How is this martial arts, granted these men train, are strong, and could probably kill the average man. But there's no skill whatsoever in the exchange. It's looks no different than the grappling and body slamming kids in junior high do in the school yard, just two grown men lookin like fools really.

  • “I think wrestlers are dominating because of the mentality, were trained from an early age to win and go out and compete, and I think that’s one of the reason’s we are so successful…Wrestling’s ten times harder. You know, on Tuesdays, Daniel Cormier is the wrestling coach at AKA, and I absolutely dread going into wrestling training on Tuesdays because I know it is going to be miserable and sore. Wrestling is ten times harder than fighting.” Josh Koscheck

  • Look down at the winner.

  • judo and wrestling FOREVER !!!

  • wrestling counters jiu jistu hard

  • wrestling is the best!!!!

  • jiujitsu is the best

  • that is right we are al one

  • @yannymclint5 The guy that won is named genki sudo hes not a wrestler, he practices catch as catch can which is very similar to brazilian jiu jitsu but does not utilize a guard to my knowledge

  • luv it..gracie jiujitsu is such a cowardly & overrated art..all it is guard,guard&guard..cant take the oppent down?Hug them &fall back& make them fall into ur guard..if they stand up?stay on ur back and hug their leg..and hopefully theyll fall too..if u dont stay between their legs(if u do jus controll ankle/leg"shoe lace" as in catch wrestling) or jus stay high(stand up) its semi-pointless art-that how sakuraba did it

  • @HonzoHasegawa Overrated?? Thats why you can only name one person known for consistantly defeating their system. Also sakuraba did catch wrestling, aka wrestlers being taught ju jitsu moves to be able to compete in MMA matches. No system is perfect, but if you don't know any submissions and a BJJ practioner gets you on the ground. They win.

  • @HonzoHasegawa not to mention Sakuraba is just a fucking bad ass.

  • 3:25 actiooooooooooon... - hahahaha... angry jap. ref. made my day! hahaha

  • haahaha both guys are BJJ trained -__- @fags who arent smart enough to check the background of da fighters

  • @geasadmiral

How did you check THE background of THE fighters if THE names are written in Japanese characters? Sure we know Gracie, but what and THE other fighter?

  • What was Genki Sudo doing in the beginning with his arm stretched out? Was he trying to touch gloves?

  • @TheKingKarlo No. Genki always tries to bother his opponents with weird movements. : D

  • woww da black short guy sucks!

  • thats right bitch... hug all you want you just got knock the fuck outtttttt gay ass

  • gay lovers hahah

  • Gracie family is a joke.

  • stupid referee interfered so late !

  • Yes thats right Genki Sudo is a Bjj Black Belt under Yoshinao Watanabe.

  • I don't understand how this guy winning via KO with a knee has anything to do with BJJ or wrestling? Unless wrestling utilizes knees from the clinch?

  • Looks to me like Jiu-Jitsu guy won. The guy in black trunks who got knocked out in the end was the one going for greco-roman grabs.

  • you basically should of put bjj vs bjj

  • Genki Sudo trains BJJ moron!

  • the knees to the head ended the night for poor Royler (gracie )

the quick mount after he was stunned was too much. Not to mention the asian guy was bigger, stronger more aggressive yet tactical.

  • Pretty sure Genki sudo is great at both wrestling and grappling. n also a pretty good kickboxer.

coulda gone far, too bad his back injury wouldnt let him fight anymore...

  • Respect :)

  • That flag says it all. I don't care what ethnic back round you come from or what martial art you prefer, we are all the same. We are all human beings, we bleed the same color, give birth the same way and all share the same emotions.

  • The Japanese guy he was World Champion in kickboxing

  • you souldn't write in the description who won this fight.... It is like saying the end of a movie

  • @xvidzzz why would you call it BJJ when BJJ came from Japan with Brazilian added to it? Genki Sudo is one of the best submission wrestlers along side Sakuraba

  • Genki Sudo has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

  • omg that is not a wrestler :D

  • BJJ'er should know, you never pull guard on a wrestler or judoka. Surrendering top position to either will get your face beat in, your arm broken, or you choked out. That's a fundamental flaw of pulling guard: It assumes the guy on top hasn't had any newaza training. In Kosen tournaments, when they pull guard, they don't sit in them, it's only a transitional position leading to something else. Kosen judokas know it's not a bright move when you have an opponent that knows what he's doing.

  • @BloodofPatriots lol you have no idea of what you are talking about, guard is not a defensive position, the other way around, guard is an offense position , and bjj fighters should be able to perform greatly on guard wether it is against a judoka or wrestler or anyone

  • @boredbynow Anytime you're on your back, you're fighting defensively -- the point is not to get hurt. Only if the aggressor on top makes a mistake is there a window to make a quick offensive move to try to lock in a submission. Until that window opens, the guy on top can beat your face in. As we saw tonight with Demian Maia's loss to wrestler Mark Munoz, now that BJJ (really, judo newaza) isn't a secret anymore, pulling guard on wrestlers or anyone MMA-trained is a losing defensive tactic.

  • This Japanese guy Sudo Genki is NOT a wrestler, but a kickboxer.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=J0_Zxm0leBs

  • respect for the flag at the end

  • We are all one so let's beat the shit out of each other =)

  • Not just wrestling---Sudo is an all round MMA fighter. Even the Gracies cross-train with MMA techniques.

  • Man, he´s a wrestler AND at the time of that fight he was a brown belt in bjj...

  • agarra tu jit jutsu hasta las12 pa ke duermas

  • lol i can tell just by the stance that neaither of them are wrestelers quit the bullshit

  • i luv seeing but scooters getting fucked up

  • Ah good ol catch wrestling by Genki Sudo. Shame theres no characters like this nowadays :(

  • Since when does wrestling involve a knee to the face? This isnt wrestling vs jiu jistu, this is MMA.

  • @TheRising63 Im pretty sure its just reference to what ground game they use not a just wrestling vs jiu jitsu

  • @TheRising63 ]Its actually K-1 using vale tudo rules.

  • Wrestling scores on pins and exposed torso while ju jitsu submits and chokes out. There is no way you can compare the two. ^^

  • this isnt a wrestler he is genki sudo.a world clas shoot /mma fighter.

  • gracie looks so stupid. this "wrestker" on e of the looser in k1. i don undetsnd wat wod do gracie. and i think brazilian never see video of prev fight of the opponent. You gracie u know? defense is not victory. wake up.

  • @AkemenBala what and attacking is winnin? tusk tusk

  • @0:40 would it have been wise for the jap. guy to go for a guillotine?

Let me know what you think.

  • @THEdomBONES Looks like his arm was trapped, unable to bring it out for the move.

  • @GingerOreo Do you suppose he could have slipped his arm out, while going into closed guard and securing a guillotine? that arm appears to be free before he goes down

  • Although Gracies did much for Jiu-jitsu, they took it from the Japanese. The JAPANESE INVENTED the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu. Its always going to be Japanese Jiu-Jitsu and most Japanese use it when fighting so don't be surprised when they win at their own game.

  • what wrestling? the only form of grappling i saw was the jiu-jitsu guy pull the wrestler into guard

  • Holyfield Holyfield vs. Mike Taison trained

Mike Taison seeing videos of merit who

studied, the Japanese and better.I Jose skin and

    even

not inport if he trained won and won

very easy to wrestling and he did not fight him

first jiu-jitsu he wins already won

many it was a fair fight I was looking to get

jiu-jitsu fighter's face looks almost died

    even killed in the fighting.

  • ooooooooo

  • I like to see Gracies loses because of their behavoir on Rio de Janeiro...like I´m the fuckin´unbeatable come chalenge me that they have...

  • @tojiha

You must of loved when SAKURABA was beating them all in PRIDE

  • ridiculous , this is nothing

  • just hilarious... this is nothing

  • whoever titled this is a dumb fuck

  • Are you sure this isn't MMA? XD

  • that jump reminded me of Morpheus when he did that flying knee thing lol.

  • about damn time Japanese kicks ass in mma

  • Haha I took pleasure in watching this.

It's funny how the UFC says Gracie has never been beaten, and yet I've seen two videos of him getting beaten. Where's that arrogant narration now?

Now I know some butt hurt little bitch is gonna reply to this. But to save me and you time, I'm not saying I'm better, but it's nice to have video proof that kills the Gracie hype. I respect it, but they're all too arrogant.

  • @yannymclint5 it was rickson gracie that has never been beaten! do your research before make"n idiotic statements.

  • Uhh... Genki Sudo is definitely not a wrestler....

  • lol asian guy tried to do a fist pump before the fight but the spic turned it down, so unsportsmanlike

  • Yeah, Genki is from Shooto, mixture of kickboxing, wrestling and (submissions). So, he was well prepared for the Gracie's "game".

  • Regardless what style he is, the banner he held at the end of the fight was amazing

  • BJJ > Wrestling

  • @catman612 And Coraíocht beats the fuck out of both of them.

  • @catman612 FALSE!

  • which one wrestling?

  • WRESTLIN ALL DAY jk i love/do bjj as well

  • sick fight!

  • LOL wrestling?? Where?? Genki and Gracie training jiu jitsu!

  • wrestling??? also!!

  • wow florian got jacked up

  • florian? wtf

  • haha my bad dont know what i was thinkin

  • And kickboxer win

  • LOOOOL

the title was Jui jitsu v.s Wrestling

    Good Joke. :D

  • Other guy is kickboxer no jiujitsu man

  • @Jumentolidota... That is Genki Sudo. He's a jujitsu guy. The video needs retitled.. You dumb fuck.

  • yea lol.

  • Acontece ambos têm faixa preta em jiujitsu. E são ótimos lutadores.

  • deve ser faixa branca de jiu jitsu... ele eh muito ruim...

  • r u dumb genki sudo isnt a wrestler and shoot fighing is a term, he has a wide variety of striking, takedowns, and submissions. he calls it his own style forget what its called, besides that he would and could still be one of the greatest, if he would knockoff his stupid dancing and nevr keeping his hands up.

  • @JumentoIdiota not the wrestling guy won , the jiu-jitsu guy won omG

  • stupid title

  • Hes a shootfighter not a wrestler!

  • and a catch wrestler

  • Catch wrestling is not "wrestling" as it relates to freestyle and greco-roman.

Wrestling centers on position and "pins" where as catch wrestling, like shootfighting, brazilian jiu-jitsu, Sambo, etc, focuses on submissions.

  • but its still a style of wrestling

  • Sure, if you consider jiu-jitsu, sambo and judo wrestling as well.

  • dude don't be retarded its in the name catch WRESTLING

  • LoL... It's also in the name PRO-wrestling. So wtf is your point?

Does that mean that pro-wrestling is the same as the amateur wrestling we're talking about?

Who cares what it's called. It only matters what it IS.

Wrestling is for pins. Jiu-jitsu, sambo, judo and catch-wrestling (like Genki Sudo trains) focuses on submissions.

  • bot al styles of wrestling are about pins

  • Modern catch wrestling is about submissions. Not pins.

Catch wrestling is not taught with pins anymore.

  • and just because of that its not a style of wrestling you are more stupid than i tought

  • No, I said it is, but only if you consider BJJ, Sambo, etc.. to be wrestling also.

I would personally call it "grappling", but you can consider it wrestling if you want to.

My whole point was that "catch wrestling" is more like "submission grappling" than it is like "amateur wrestling".

  • yeah i know that but still its is A STYLE of wrestling with submissions

  • second time muay thai beat gjj/bjj

  • Is that what happens when you spend your life training with a gi ? Can't hold on to sleeves and collars in a match like this.

  • Jujitsu dosent always have gis, theres also no gi fights. Besides, the end had like nothing to do with Jujitsu or wrestling (Not to mention Genki also does Jujitsu) I say, a gi feels more like a sweatshirt or something then nothing. How many street fights take place with both people in spandex...

  • yeah because you can uce your oponents jacket or t shirt as a gi to throw or choke him

  • Yeah, but obviously Genki didn't win using his bjj...he won using his punches and the bjj guy just couldn't keep up. Which gracie was that anyway?

  • Thats why Bjj guys need to learn how to strike.

  • 2 be honest, Jiu Jitsu may help in a ring fight, but when u r on the streets facing more opponents. You better start running!

When holding one opponent, the other will use your head for a penalty kick (soccer)...

  • you very honest I know couple friends in my country they have training BJJ for more than 9 years, and one of them got his ass kick against 2 opponents in the streets, like you have say , all BJJ pratictioner start to run!

  • I say, learn everything you can, unless it BJJ, Jujitsu (original) focuses more on getting the other person on the ground while you are standing over them. Jujitsu was made for battle feild by samurai. Slam them and move on or finish them with your dagger or kick them or something, not spend 5 min on the ground in guard position. I say Jujitsu or ground fighting is VERY important in a street fight, because IF you get there, you can get up. But its not where you want to be, your right.

  • "nlrahim" To be honest,no matter what art you train, when facing multiple opponents RUN!

  • When u don't have a choice, then your happy and more safe with wingchun, kickboxing, karate etc, not with wrestling/jiu jitsu/judo.

  • @nlrahim yes but in real life situations, most of the fights end up in the ground(in which the martial arts you mentioned are useless).. so a wrestling, judo, jiujistu base is good too.. but honeslty, its a balance in between stand up and ground game is what makes you safe.

  • Truth, in my early youth it was judo. Wing Chun is 4 everything else. And more important common sense.

People tend to hold on 2 their opponent, this i noticed very early. And its not always nice to hit them on their nose, just because somebody is fooling around.

  • Royler always had a weak chin

  • He got kneed in the face twice then got his face punched over and over.. How is that weak??? lol

  • He's not a wrestler. He's a shootfighter who trained for a long time to specifically beat the Gracies! Quit the bullshit!

  • he wrestled in high school a lot

  • @josepablobolanos true dat

  • @josepablobolanos like ken shamrocks shoot fighting its like that greco roman or catch wrestling which is the shit(catch wrestling) Sakuraba was a catch wrestling practitioner and he destroyed gracies

  • @josepablobolanos aorry i meant to give this a thumbs up

  • @jewjittsuguy

Hmmm... You owe me one, then! ;-)

  • @josepablobolanos shootfighting has wrestling in it

  • @yamchaken05

Surely does! As well as it has jujitsu and striking techniques from various other arts... But wrestling is a sport with a very specific repertoire of techniques and it is aimed towards immobilization of an opponent so shootfighting ISN'T wrestling. The title is misleading; someone might get the nonsensical idea that a simple wrestler might be in a position to beat a seasoned jujitsuka... and THAT WOULDN'T BE RIGHT, WOULD IT???

  • @josepablobolanos too a degree it is wrestling. it depends on what the person calling wrestling means? it is wrestling or submission wrestling but its not submission wrestling alone. it doesnt really have jiu jistu in it. I am a shootfighter its more wrestling than jiu jistu. its popular belief that it does have some japanese jiu jistu but it more wreslting. hears a small history of it, the prelude to shootfighting starting when Karl gotch travel to japan and began teaching pro wrestling.

  • @josepablobolanos and ameutaur wrestling to japanese martial artist.

  • @yamchaken05

Fair enough, but it isn´t wrestling. Wrestling (and boxing and savate) evolved from a more complex ancient martial art called pankration, very similar to jujitsu. But, then again, wrestling isn´t pankration. The title of this video should be: Shootfighting vs Jujitsu. Then, I would shut up about this.

  • @josepablobolanos yes it would. Wrestling is the best fighting base hands down.

  • LOL! Good!

    Hate Gracie!

  • Muay Thai knees basically LOLZ

  • Did you hear those Asian chicks calling his name the whole fight?

  • he pulled to mount hahaha

  • that not a "wrestling guy"

    thats GENKI SUUUUUDOOOOOOO

  • Genki Sudo is a beast. Lol

  • we are all one but we beat the crap out of each other...

  • well Nogueira beat the crap out of Couture with BJJ and BJ Penn beat Kenny Florian's wrestling with his BJJ, SO BJJ IS BETTER THAN WRESTLING!

actually, I believe MMA is not a style vs a style. alot has changed since UFC 4 guys.... get a clue. stop saying it's "wrestling vs BJJ" it's MMA

  • Nogueira actually dominated Couture with his boxing, he wasn't able to catch him in any submissions.

    And lol at Florian's "wrestling"...

If you're using that in an argument, you must be pretty desperate.

  • well the best florian could do with wrestling was stall. just like all the other wrestlers. wrestling isn't a winning strategy

hahah, yea he outboxed couture standing up AND on the ground. BJJ is more than just submissions, why don't people realize that? and the ones he attempted put him in a dominant position over couture.

  • Wrestling is fucken gay all they wanna do is hug like a homo, "southpaw816" i bet ur one of those homo wrestlers always trying to rape a guys butt hole just how ur daddy rape u

  • I love how people rely on non Intelligent arguments like "your daddy rapes your butthole" I'd beat you with wrestling any day. You'd be above my head one second and flat on the ground wondering what day it is the next.

  • Agreed.

  • dude, hip position, takedowns, takedown defense... its all part of wrestling, which is a part of mma grappling overall. You obviously wont win a match by pinning somebody, taking them down, or even slamming them, but wrestling helps you maintain good position when grappling. Also wrestlers are arguably the most intense and competitive fighters in the UFC. watch anybody with a solid wrestling background and they always go 100% in the octogon and never leave anything behind.

  • It's genki !!!!!!!

  • and genki does not wrestling

  • WRESTLING IS SO GAY.

it was great when the jiu jitsu guys punched the shit out of that lame wrestle fucker

  • WRESTLING IS SO GAY

it was great when Matt Hughes BEAT THE FUCK outta royce with it... Oh wait... Maybe wrestling isn't so gay afterall

  • So what? Matt Hughes has been beaten by a number of Jiu-jitsu guys. Thiago Silva put his ass down! and GSP was a BJJ brownbelt both times when he beat Hughes, and Penn beat Hughes too.

  • Penn, is a BJJ guy, GSP, no, GSP trained karate first, then trained BJJ, wrestling and boxing. I love how no matter what else someone trains, they're a BJJ fighter. Also Genki sudo is a submission wrestling/kickboxing guy. Nog beat a 46 year old over the hill Couture. Noone mentions Brock smashed Mir, a BJJ black belt, even though I don't really rate Mir. To the idiot saying an arm bar must mean jiu jitsu, every fighting style in the world uses an arm bar and noone trains one style anymore

  • GSP doesn't use karate in MMA other than a rare spinning kick. Couture may be over the hill but he still better than most. Nog has beaten a bunch of wrestlers. Lesnar & Mir are 1 and1. and Lesnar is a SuperHW in a HW division.

It always goes back and forth depending on the athletes. you can't distinguish wrestling from BJJ alot of the time. It just becomes grappling. the techniques all work. I get irritated by the way the titles misrepresent MMA so i say things to irritate people

  • The point I was trying to make is GSP is not a pure BJJ guy, in fact if anything he uses wrestling more. There are no pure 1 style fighters left in MMA, 1 style won't work no matter what style it is. You have to train a bit of everything

  • Alves, not Silva. There are too many Thiago's and Silvas in the UFC.

  • @joenobody13

fuck yeah, there has to be at least 7 different silvas in the ufc alone, and im sure ull find tons more in other MMA organizations

  • The guy who got punched was the Jiu Jiutsu guy... He was fighting the "wrestler" who is actually Genki Sudo who does kick boxing and some Jujitsu... He is mainly stand up from what iv seen. btw iv seen that fight and thats not even wrestling with Matt... If that was wrestling why did he try all thoughs sub missions streight from Jujitsu and didnt he win by armbar??? lol Matt was doing Jujitsu, maby he has a wrestling backround, but he won with Jujitsu xD

  • Its genki sudo, a no gi jiu jitsu guy vs royler gracie, a brazilian jiu jitsu guy. Lol.... "wrestler guy wins" stupid kids

  • he was using wrestling..dont get mad

  • Hahaha! Wtf! Genki Sudo is not a wrestler! His primary is Freestyle Jiu-Jitsu... where the fuck do people get their fucked up information. GOOGLE is your friend morons.

  • @jrdv86 sudo first trained in catch wrestling for when he fought in pancrase. nobody is a one-art fighter anymore so i don't think this video has the right name

  • heeeeeeeeee chingon por fin se cogieron a uno de esos weyes son una mieirda

  • Can't believe someone still thinks wrestling can't win (indestructable987??) All these guys learned technique from watching and fighting each other for years. Hardly any jiu-jitsu, wrestling, or standup style competes solely with the first style they learned. The first take downs by jj fighters were terrible. Now much better because of training with wrestlers. Wrestlers learn jui-jitsu, strikers learn take down defense etc... anyone can win. Wrestling helps with all transitions

  • hehe in all ur vids of jiu jitsu vs another fight sport, u put in the description that the other fightsport won. What do you have againt jiu jitsu?

Soz for my rly bad english :p

  • cant beleive wrestler won ,makes no sense

  • how??????????????

  • because after you take the guy down what do you do it seems like the jujitsu guy would win by triangle or something after being taken down because a wrestler cant defend it

  • I'm a wrestler. Trust me. I can defend it.
