A friend of mine and the great preach I have ever hear is Dr. Spencer Ledbetter in OKC. (And by "Dr." I mean a serious doctorate) Ledbetter debated Pearson on a local radio show here in OKC. Ledbetter destoryed Pearson. I had the audio tape of the debate and now I cannot find it. If I ever find it I will put it on Youtube. Also Lexi is very ignorate in think Pearson is responsible for bringing Pentacost to the forefront.
I am not a Pearson defender but he did bring black pentecostalism to the forefront. What other black pentecostal preacher had a worldwide television broadcast? I understand your statement concerning William Seymour and he is the father of pentecostalism but pearson did push it across the globe through television.

I respectfully disagree. Anyone who has been in the church for any length of time knows that there are questionable activities that take place in the church. The problem is that the inclusion theory is a damnable doctrine. The Bible states that if anyone comes preaching any different gospel, let that gospel be acursed. However, inclusion aside, Pearson knows what he knows. And what he knows is about your favorite bishop/pastor, evangelist, prophet. Pearson is anointed and that is no question. He started many of these current headliner guys and no one will deny that. And that is what worries them. He knows too much about them

Unless Bell and Pearson know something about the orthodox theology on the gospel of christ and the idea of hell is not true as it is being presented. The need for the Holy Spirit is so important to tell you what is what because there could be lies in it all.

So technically, everything that does not teach the trinitarian view of God would technically be considered heresy - according to how the mother church, which is recognized as authority viewed Sabellianism / Modalism. Today, I don't know if they vocally express that or not, but in the past they were heavily adamant against that as a heresy

I've never read any of Pearson's books. I've never heard him preach. But I did my own research on hell, the Greek words (gehennom, aion, aionios, apocatastasis), historical Jewish understandings of the afterlife, and what the early church taught. I found out that I (saved, sanctificied, and holy ghost filled) was incorrect about Hell. We (especially black churches) need to stop fearing being called "heretics" and really research hell. Believe the truth, even if it's unpopular. Do your research!

This is a interesting video with some very interesting post. I have to say I am surprised at how contentious believers are being with one another. I don't think we should label people "true Christians" because there is only one way to be a Christian and that is accept Christ. Also, the Lord says in Isaiah 1:18 "Come let us reason together". So I think its important for this conversation to be had but I am not sure if anyone thus far has gone about it the right way. Just an observation.

Yes, we are called to love the lost. However, true love tells the TRUTH. Jesus Christ is our example, and spoke more about hell than ever- because He desired us to be saved from it. NO, all of mankind will not be saved. To imply such is to call God a liar! We are saved when we ACCEPT Christ into our lives, we have a responsibility to accept the free gift that God gave.

I don't totally agree with Pearson but I don't think he is as far off the mark as many people are making him. I don't think its necessary to preach hell fire and brimstone in order to bring people to Christ. The gospel is sharing the good news of Christ redeeming power. I don't think you have to preach hell for that. But I do think that we must confess Christ which is where I run into trouble with his beliefs.

What I wrote was "bring people to Christ", which means witnessing to souls so perhaps u should read again. Why do you assume "preaching" must be a formal sermon? Preaching can also mean simply "proclaiming or announcing" even to just one person which perfectly describes witnessing.

It is sad but many Christians think the fear of hell is stronger then the love of Christ. Hell is real but Christ love is greater. A friend of mine and the great preach I have ever hear is Dr. Spencer Ledbetter in OKC. (And by "Dr." I mean a serious doctorate) Ledbetter debated Pearson on a local radio show here in OKC. Ledbetter destoryed Pearson. I had the audio tape of the debate and now I cannot find it. If I ever find it I will put it on Youtube. Unless Bell and Pearson know something about the orthodox theology on the gospel of christ and the idea of hell is not true as it is being presented. So technically, everything that does not teach the trinitarian view of God would technically be considered heresy - according to how the mother church, which is recognized as authority viewed Sabellianism / Modalism. Today, I don't know if they vocally express that or not, but in the past they were heavily adamant against that as a heresy

Carlton is a clear example of those who were written about in the Book of Jude. Turning the grace of our God into a license to sin and denying Jesus Christ as Lord. He creapted in alright but his beliefs were finally revealed when he came out of the closet with this heresy. The man never had the witness in him. Check that out! Paul declares to Timothy that God, the LIVING God, is the savior of ALL men, and especially, NOT EXCLUSIVELY, those who believe. It's scriptures like these that Bishop Pearson hangs on, and makes the church nervous!!!

I've never read any of Pearson's books. I've never heard him preach. But I did my own research on hell, the Greek words (gehennom, aion, aionios, apocatastasis), historical Jewish understandings of the afterlife, and what the early church taught. I found out that I (saved, sanctificied, and holy ghost filled) was incorrect about Hell. We (especially black churches) need to stop fearing being called "heretics" and really research hell. Believe the truth, even if it's unpopular. Do your research!

Correction--I believe the first black man who appeared on TBN was Marvin Smith, who was a foursquare preacher in it's infancy. Then it was Fredrick Price Sr. and then E.V. Hill. Pearson did bring the black penecostal movement in the forefront, however, his teaching is in error unfortunately.

This is a interesting video with some very interesting post. I have to say I am surprised at how contentious believers are being with one another. I don't think we should label people "true Christians" because there is only one way to be a Christian and that is accept Christ. Also, the Lord says in Isaiah 1:18 "Come let us reason together". So I think its important for this conversation to be had but I am not sure if anyone thus far has gone about it the right way. Just an observation.

Yes, we are called to love the lost. However, true love tells the TRUTH. Jesus Christ is our example, and spoke more about hell than ever- because He desired us to be saved from it. NO, all of mankind will not be saved. To imply such is to call God a liar! We are saved when we ACCEPT Christ into our lives, we have a responsibility to accept the free gift that God gave.

Yes, he was annointed by the Lord in the PAST- however, one cannot ride on their former glory. The devil also, was once an annointed cherub but is now full of hell. In response to your first question, Pearson is saying BECAUSE Christ died all men are save which explains the need for the crucifixion. I don't personally hold to this belief but that is what he is saying in a nutshell.

I understand your point...but Jesus gave his life for our Sins over 2,000yrs ago & since then hundreds of millions of people have been "born" into this world & according to Pearson...Born Saved & will Die Saved. The Bible Says we ARE "Born into sin & Shaped in Iniquity" & "All have Sinned and come Short of the Glory of GOD"!

I don't totally agree with Pearson but I don't think he is as far off the mark as many people are making him. I don't think its necessary to preach hell fire and brimstone in order to bring people to Christ. The gospel is sharing the good news of Christ redeeming power. I don't think you have to preach hell for that. But I do think that we must confess Christ which is where I run into trouble with his beliefs.

"People" are not making Pearson "far off", He is a False Prophet preaching False Doctrine by choice, that Jesus called "Doctrines of Devils". YES Preachers/Teachers MUST preach the WHOLE Bible from Genesis to Revelation, & when GOD instructs, not to pick & choose what MAN wants! That includes HELL & REPENTANCE of Sins through Jesus Christ to Avoid Hell! If u understood then u wouldn't have felt the need to tell me Pearson was in error because I already said he was nor would u feel the need to tell me hell is real and needs to be taught because I believe that as well. My statement was regarding witnessing to souls, (most of which already heard about a "hell")it is not essential to speak about "hell" but rather the shed blood of Christ and reconciliation.
So before becoming so combative and argumentative perhaps u should just ask for clarity :)

What I wrote was "bring people to Christ", which means witnessing to souls so perhaps u should read again. Why do you assume "preaching" must be a formal sermon? Preaching can also mean simply "proclaiming or announcing" even to just one person which perfectly describes witnessing.
Regarding Pearson, I was simply saying he is not too far off which makes it easier for him to return. You are running with zeal but lacking knowledge in this instance which is why I was not inclined to speak w/ u.

It is sad but many Christians think the fear of hell is stronger then the love of Christ. Hell is real but Christ love is greater.
