  • 1 star, you contridicted yourself and you made generalizations

  • Care to state exactly where I contradicted myself and made generalizations? Or, will you leave your comment as a generalization in itself?

Leave a time mark (i.e., 1:20) and quotation.

  • I totally agree with you. Religion is the curse of mankind and interfers in the progress of mankind. The only way forward is to rid the world of this "sky daddy" who happen to do nothing for his supporters in times of trouble.

  • "man can only be free once the last king has been strangled by the entrails of the last priest."

  • ikinmoore

You cannot judge all atheists and theists to act the same all the time. Therefore you cannot blame all the good and all the evil on either one. It is the rotten apples in every bunch that spoils the whole barrel.

  • I hear music in the background. It's really quite. But I enjoyed the video a lot!

  • Try not to look at offenses in a religious way! Some of the most seemingly innocent acts of offense grow into horrible wars and genocides pedophilia torture and the like. You are too wound up in blaming religion. On the human level people offend more today than ever; just to be sadistic. Religion mostly is not needed to offend and evolve into huge crimes against humanity.

  • Religion is an incredibly dangerous tool for eliciting behaviour in large groups of people. Its most powerful weapon is its promise of eternal bliss as a reward for following decrees and the threat of eternal damnation if one doesn't toe the line (explained further in the heaven and hell videos). Religion, whereas not the only source of violence and evil, is the primary source for a significant number of violent and evil acts against other people as it brainwashes people.

  • To DOA "if one doesn't toe the line "<<

What's the difference? You are not compelled to toe anything. Get it! Free Will! YOU choose your lifestyle and it is definitely not forced upon you. Violence and evil are acts from within the mind and sometimes in retalliation. It does not matter your lifes preferences. No more moron name calling?

  • Yes, you are a moron - an even bigger one than I had previously thought. Clearly you struggle with comprehending written English that's greater than grade 6 material. Did I not explicitly infer that religious people are prone to violent and extreme acts because of their belief in heaven and hell - that if they do not toe the line they'll be eternally punished? Their violent and extreme acts are imposed on people like me; those who do not share their ignorance and moronic bigotry.

  • How typical of the religious; that you do your very best to dodge and ignore the points that I raised that not only answered your your pathetic and ill informed questions but also posed much better and more relevant ones to you. Instead you attempt slander and ad hominem hoping that I and others wont notice your flagrant inability to defend your ludicrous and asinine beliefs. It is clear that you cannot adequately address the irrationality of your previous statements.

  • The DoubleTalkApproach <<

I guess its meth u r on, Shit you just babble away inconsiderately double talking your way to neurosis. Give peace a chance and stop these long run-on sentences to nowhere. Do good or evil and that is your choice with or without theism. Simple is all it is.

  • This was exactly my point; your exposure to written English clearly has not exceeded grade 6 level. Regardless, your refusal to address the obvious negative ramifications of the concepts of heaven and hell, as I pointed them out, implies that you have no defense in this matter. As said, religion invokes extremely violent acts in people because those acting believe that they will be ultimately rewarded and will escape eternal torment.

  • good points, good video :)

  • It is hard not to look at offenses in a religious way when so many people are using religion as a reason to be offended. "My holy book doesn't teach that, therefore it is evil and I am offended," is their attitude in a nutshell. Yes, of course people get offended for other reasons; and some religious people don't get offended by insults to their religion. But to say it is not a factor at all is simply ignoring reality.

  • ElveeKaye evil is a reality<<

If evil were not a reality, then there would be no need for religion to restrain the murderers, liars, thieves, disrespectful, adulterers, rapists, peds and all the rest. It is one thing to be offended and another to be put into danger and seriously hurt. It all depends on the action and reaction sensitivities of each individual on earth. Ignoring morality is asking for a world of chaos.

  • Well, I haven't noticed that religion actually restrains anyone from anything. Just take a look at the history of any religion and you will see that it doesn't take much for them to throw morality out the window. The Bible contains stories of men doing horrible things yet still being called "righteous." Religious folk sometimes have strange ideas of right and wrong.

  • @ElveeKaye haven't noticed <<

yOU NEVER BOTHERED TO LOOK AT THE GOOD AND BAD RESULTS OF BOTH ATHEISM AND RELIGION? yOU SAY RELIGION NEVER PREACHES THE PRACTICE OF GOOD LOVE AND VEIRTUE?

  • I'm not saying they don't preach it, I'm saying that they don't always practice it--and there are some spectacular examples of this in Christian history. Anyone can preach love and virtue; it's another thing to actually practice it.

  • @ElveeKaye they don't preach it <<

So what else is new? Like I said 100 times. Atheists and theists both throughout history history have some spectacular examples of evil and great good. What is your point at going on a rampage against people who preach love charity kindness etc?

  • "Going on a rampage?" Where have I done that? I am the one talking calmly about it. YOU are the one who shouted an angry message in all-caps earlier, not me. And when was the last time atheists burned Christians at the stake, or hunted down and killed people by the thousands for heresy, or murdered women on suspicion of witchcraft? How many atheists are in prison compared to the huge number of Christians?

  • @ElveeKaye

    yes

  • @ElveeKaye

pretty often hitler stalin were atheist even if you and they say they were not. these crimes you say were no by true theists but by liars

  • @ElveeKaye

    does sin exist ?

  • Fighting for freedom of information not only feels really morally and spiritually fulfilling, it also gives me something to do when I get bored ^^

  • I really enjoy listening to this stuff while i play World of warcraft

  • What's the point of stating the obvious, you ask? Because too many people haven't comprehended what is obvious to you and I. The series of examples that I gave were relevant examples of such people - people who affect many others' lives for the worse because of their closed mindset. *That* is the rational, and supported, argument of the video.

It's ironic, though, that you decry my stating "the obvious" - that censorship stunts people - but you then go onto to state it yourself in paraphrase.

  • Fantastic video, I just subbed as well, and i hope others see this and see the sense in it.

  • 5:58.. Wow.

They really give their kids coloring books that say that? Just look at the names of the colors.. "Rapturous red" and "Behemoth blue". Just keep drilling it deep into the kids skulls.. How sinister.

  • Actually, I think it's a satirical web page...at least, I hope so. Either way, I would give anything for a coloring book like that. Jesus + dinosaurs = coolness! =D

  • I just subscribed.

  • 5 starred/favorited/subscribed

    couldn't agree more.

  • Another 5 for you! I find the views you have out putted into my brain feed and full !

  • Actually VfX knows much of hovinds material he parrotsis not valid but uses it anyway because it is a 'good tool for conversion'. In other words he is a hypocritical liar.

  • Right on... atheist logic leads to censorship of the logical, and the logical mind being branded as offensive and prejudicial

  • The right of freedom of speech and religion which most atheists support does not give you the right to not be offended. Where as religious accusations of persecution or offense are often used to try and silence other people or to limit knowledge.

Why should one shut the eye of reason because one has a belief and may be "offended"?

  • I can see how my comment could be read with ambiguity. However, I dont see how my user name can be misconstrued ;)

  • well, I don't give much credence to names to begin with, after all how many religious people or organizations that use "truth____" for nearly everything.

  • Excellent points. Looking forward to the second part. :)

  • so true

  • I'm reminded of "picture god offends me", I'm curious did this have anything to do with recent events in Brittan or is it coincidence in timing?

  • Hi garith,

yeah, reading about those muslim parents who ousted that headteacher (I'm a teacher so that case relates to me) elicited me to do this video although i was thinking about doing this for a while.

  • ahh, I was more referring to the case where a maker of a certain controversial film was not allowed into the country because a Muslim representative threatened violence from many Muslims if the person was let into the country to demonstrate his video pointing out how violent the actions of extremists have been and their religious justification.

There's a bit of irony there, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

  • excellent video... very educational... 5/5

  • The reason VenomFangX tried to file DMCA notices against Thunderfoot and others is because he knows he's wrong, and he's embarrassed at having his own words used against him, with which he's been made a fool in the public square.

It's no that VFX is ignorant. I think he knows why he's wrong. It's that he thinks that winning the ideological war is more important than being right.

  • eloquently put. 5/5
