My nations airplanes will shifted out in short time, so they must decide between F18 super hornet, JSF, or gripen. They are all great aircraft, but the JSF packagage would cost 68 Billion Dkr. thats 11 billion Usd. that amount is much more than we owe due to the money crisis
@gridsinister Well since Denmark has been a part of JSF from the very start, and tossed loads of money in that damned project, we are in line for bying a few actually.
Because of the delay and all the problems, we might invest in either SAAB produced in our neighbour country to support them, or the Eurofighter.
I was at saab for 2 weeks as a students and was actually test sitting and worked with theas plaines every day =) It was 2 awesome weeks and I will back ^^

At most 30% better at long range and much less close because of gripens canards and smallness makes it much more agile close combat. At long distance its most probable that f-22 isnt so overwelming because of the gripens superiority concerning datatransmissions and using other radars etc. It seems that the americans is totaly fucked up comparing what they get for invested money.
@Rapeattack I dont know what you are talking about, but i think the americans where the first with the 747, and the F22 Raptor is a lot better compared to the gripen. Still this is a pretty good figther jet.

@argentinoalamuerte Yes. But I think the develop of the military aeronautical industry in Brazil is more important than to buy an aircraft with a high autonomy. For this, the NG is the best. The contract requires 40% of production is in Brazil with technology sharing. And this, who will do will be the EMBRAER.

Anyway it must be a good bargain for brazil taking the best out of saab aircraft and making this type of technology your own. Saab Gripen, EF 2000, Rafale all great aircraft, but I think they have been already surpassed by the capabilities of the F22 and F23 (atleast on paper). Nonetheless great superiority fighters.
Du point de vue de la cellule, les deux avions sont assez proche, le Gripen est malgé tout avantagé par ses plans canard mobiles.
Mais c'est au niveau du radar que l'écart se creuse. Même si le Mirage 2000 a vu son radar amélioré au fur et à mesure des versions, celui du gripen est équivalent à celui du Rafale ( même technologie).

The Brazil needs a military aeronautical industry.
