  • weak ..! c'mon ..!! my 5 speed tsx sounds way meaner than that ..! i still needa race a 6 speed tsx to show em that automatic always clowns on manual.. and you forgot to turn off ur vsa .. quit making us acuras look bad dumbass ..

  • poor car

  • This video sucks, ripoff!!

  • wow thats really quiet

  • i would hate to have to wait for my car to have power

  • your navi makes more noise than your vtec

  • it does have a switchover noise @ 6k hard to hear with stock air box though and wont engage if your not running atleast 91 octane they have a very picky knock sensor and will retard the timing if its pinging.

  • "In a half mile, VTEC KICKS IN YO"

  • the only cars you can really hear the vtec kick in are the type r's, type s', and the Si's. I have an 09 Civic Si and the kick in at 6k is craaaaazzyyyyyy

  • @desimunda116 I have an 09 si too. wait till you get flashpro vtec is louder!

  • @xTicklemyplicke hahah nicee

  • @lovesthebass are you an idiot? or just couldnt be bothered knowing anything about Hondas?

iVTEC is actually BOTH the traditional cam profile switch over (from two mild cams to one more aggressive cam) and the constantly variable VTC... On the TSX the VTC is adjustable by 25 degrees and the VTEC mechanism switches over at 6,000rpm...

  • @acteuro03 Didn't mean to wreck your whole day like that, sir.

  • @lovesthebass Yes there is you bellend. The euro 2.0 (K20A7) ivtec kicks in at 4500 rpm and the 2.4 (K24A4) that you find in the US and europe kicks in at 6000 rpm.

You are half right as i-vtec is variable but the valves are on full chat at a set rpm just not as prominent as in the older traditional Vtec engines because they are tuned for ecomomy rather than outright performance. You dont get a kick like in a H22A for example.

  • @lovesthebass yes there is. This car is like 6k, i think he is right. RSX type s and civic si's both have iVTEC...and there is a crossover point at 5800. there is 2 versions of iVTEC. You're thinking of the economy version found in accords and crv's and what not. You are right about the "constantly varying" but its constantly varying cam adv/ret, not profile. The actuator on the intake cam gear controls advancement and retardation of the timing which is on both versions of iVTEC

  • @lovesthebass funny how my "i-vtec" 08 si always seems to coincidentally hit vtec at 6,000

  • theres is no real VTEC sound in the tsx. thats why you dont hear anything lol.

  • do you even have an air intake??? Let me guess, an automatic tranny?? LOL.... Wack video. wasted 0:40 of my life

  • OMG this vid suks, you should take it off Utube, really, this is a complete waste

  • lol its not vtec and yes tsx has a second cam profile but its not much bigger this is just the secondary butterflys opening not the second profile engaging

  • did'nt hear anything.

are you sure the TSX even has a 2nd cam profile? or is it like the RSX. where it's called a v-tec but does'nt actually have the mechanism

  • well then they probally treat their cars like shit over all...when i slam i hit the exact redline rpm before shifting...yout CAN go a little over...but if its an older car..i wouldnt take the chance

  • can someone tell what is a safe rpm shift at where i can get alot of sped and torque and not blow my engine. i have seen people rev high 5000 and higher through gear shifts and they blow engines. vw jetta, acura rsx

  • the object of shift timing is to get the most power band in a gear as possible, before the car starts out running itself(red lining) if you are accelerating real slow, shift faster vise versa, im not really sure how to describe it lol

  • thanks for replying tomy question. imstill a bit confused. the vtec system says it allows you to shift all the way to the redline, and then switch gears. aslong as u dont touch the redline is that safe for the engine. i have acura 1.7 el, its a jdm civic sold only in canada. look it up. it has vtec engine, and redlines at 8000 rpms. its only 1.7 liter engine, and does about 140 hp

  • @acuratlnigga

acura rsx type s redlines 8k vtec is a 5800, so how would i blow my engine w/ 5k shifts........ur an idiot

  • i rev my type R to 9000rpms atleast 3 times a day lol

  • And YOU CANT HEAR ANYTHING!

  • Ayyyyy mang This video sucks. Needs more sound.

  • slow.........

  • ..so you can get the maximum torque..

  • apex-i v-tec controller would bring the v-tec kick in at around 4k if you wanted that way you would always be in the screamer zone when you change gear :)

  • automatic or 6 speed?

  • its a 6MT, the auto has the P-R-D-S lights in the tach

  • is there kpro for the k24?

  • Comment removed

  • hey its sally from the navigation!!!

  • vtec at 6 grand, most all others vtecs are around 4 or 5 grand

  • its not a noise its a sound

  • its true... you hear the VTEC more with intake but thats was on my 04... now a got an 08 and not only do i hear it, i feel it pull like it has turbo

  • Interesting, since it weighs more and has less horsepower, only a little more lower-end torque. It shouldn't pull as strong as this car in the video at the top end.

  • thats why i love hondas... they are sexy on the top end... but the 07+ TSX's have bigger intake runners and a larger throttle body than the previous years

  • thats boring... my tsx got injen cai and greddy evo 2 and damm it sounds good.. get the intake at least and then you will hear the vtec

  • there are different types of vtec, some are for economy, some for performance... go google it. tsx's vtec is performance... whoever was driving in this vid , of course u wont hear crossover driving like that; what the fuck are u doing? ill take a video of my bone stock tsx (when im going fast, not ass-slow) and you'll hear a very audible succinct crossover.

  • cause u aint slamming the pedal, its like in neutral, vtec dont work unless its actually pulling, especially with i-vtec. its to save gas lol.

  • can't hear shit, fauxtec

  • umm your tsx has the same head as my civic si. there is supposed to be a vtec crossover, but i guess either its hard to notice in the tsx or the camera didn't pick up the sound. i have volume on full and i can hardly hear the engine note.

  • i agree... i own a TSX and i never hear no dumb crossover! it doesnt have the same VTec cam profiles as the RSX Type S
