I've been trying to tell my friends (who think that swine flu is gonna kill us all or something) that seasonal flu kills people (I believe the statistics are 36,000 a year in the US) and that from what we've seen so far this flu isn't much more dangerous. It's probably killing people in Mexico because it's been in the population longer before it was caught so it had a chance to spread and not enough of a chance for people infected to get medical attention.
