    KTF Ade

  • Thanks so much for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it

  • P.J. sounds like you got a winner here, great to hear The Connotations, The Nobletones to start the show, remember hearing The Connotations singing in the back room of The Relic Rack one saturday afternoon, Brings back good memories of listening to Dr. Jive(Tommy Smalls) and Georgie Hudson, Murray The K, and others. I'll be listening this week and every week, good luck always.

  • Great sounds and the best of luck...

  • Great stuff! Best wishes for the new show.

  • you have a new member to your radio show best of luck in your venture PJ worldwidepeekinin

  • Glad to have you on board

  • Yes, PJ, it was a great double sider, BEFORE I GO is a excellent ballad as you know. Forgot Dickie`s name. I know he made a record in `77 with a group called STRUTT. Eddie Brian was also with the Ducanes on Goldisc as you know.

  • I wish you the best. This taste sounds authentic, like the good all days. Don't forget the great white sounds. I liked the way you it kicked off with the Connations a great Jersey group. Looking foward to great things from you.

  • I like doo wop as a whole, so I'll be playing it all from the early groups to the later stuff. My concentration will be from '57-'63 as that is what my collection is mainly comprised of.

  • The first song you played by the Connotations( from the Englewood area, Bergen County) was written by my good friend Eddie Brian, a great entertainer in his own right. He was also in the group with Jordan Montanero, Jackie Davis, Jordan?, flip as you know is a great ballad, BEFORE I GO, another Jersey Doo-Wop, The Nobletones! Your show is gonna be great and the vinyl sounds teriffic. Good Luck With It. Best,Frankie C

  • I love the Connotations record. Dickie Harmon (later with The Del Vikings) was the lead on that one.

  • Great music.... I could listen to this all day long.... love it !!

  • Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Awesome!

  • Good stuff Noce! Spin 'em bro..

  • Hi PJ. Will I be able to access the programmes online in Australia?

  • Well, if you're talking to me now then I'm sure you'll be able to. The show will be streaming at Destination Doo Wop, an online radio station

  • @PJDooWop Thank you - looking forward to being a listener.

  • Welcome to the Destination Doowop Network. Sounds great.

    Gary US Mitchell

    Gary's Oldies Vault

    Destination DooWop

  • Looking forward for this. A void is finally being filled.

  • There's still alot of work to be done to fill the void but I'll do my small part

  • finaly pj thats great.

  • sounds great.looking forward to hearing the show.nothing like the vinyl sound.

  • I also love the sound of vinyl, especially when it's played on the right equipment.

  • Just got power back (SE Conn.), and what a great surprise this is. I wish you absolutely the best, and will definitely be listening. PJ, how long will the show be? An hour? Sounds great, and the music is, of course, killer. --Bob

  • You JUST got power? Unbelievable. I hope you didn't lose too many perishable goods. You're not even that far from me. I'm in the NYC suburbs of NJ, but I was on the west side of the storm. My area got some serious flooding, but I was spared with only a few inches of water in the basement. I didn't lose power, thank God. A lot of people around here did.

  • @PJDooWop Yeah, it's been a long haul, mostly because everybody around here has well water, and they don't work without electricity. More important, though, the show sounds great, and the segue of tunes is expert. What is the theme song?

  • It's the flip of "Hard Times (The Slop)" by Noble "Thin Man" Watts.. It's called "Midnight Flight"

  • Great show PJ! You'll be another Gossert,Nite,Reed,Ronnie I,Fredricks, etc. Also you play obscure stuff.

  • I am honored by your comment - thank you. My goal is not to be one of the greats... This isn't about me, which is why I keep the talking to a minimum. This is about the music.. letting the artists know people still care about their music.. letting the people who want to hear this music hear it, and letting those that want to be educated to be educated.

  • What station?

  • An online radio station called Destination Doo Wop

  • CONGRAT PJ I posted this on my Facebook to spread the word!

  • Thanks so much!

  • @PJDooWop Oh no worries man it's the least I can do. I just hope I can get your station out here in Canada. I if I cant ILL FIND A WAY! lol

  • What a surprise my friend !!!! I only wish you the best of success , maybe another "Ronnie I" in the making!!!!!! Hope you take that as a compliment !!! Only because He was as passionate about the preservation of DooWop and Oldies as you are my man !!!! Again all the best of luck to you !!!!!!! Your DooWop brother The Sally"G" !!!!!!

  • I don't think anyone can ever come close to filling Ronnie's shoes, but I'll do my part in bringing this music to all who want to hear it

  • Great show and voice, but that reverb makes me feel in an empty warehouse, maybe a warmer, not so deep reverb would work better, anyway, great to hear this !

    All the best !

  • I can definitely adjust the reverb. I was emulating the sound WCBS had on their djs about 20 years ago

  • @PJDooWop I'm not from the US so i had no idea about that. Good to know !

  • PJ: Mere words can't express my sheer delight. We'll be listening. I wish you much suscess. Many Thanks from Riely,Regan and I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks so much

  • Ahh... Memories of Jerry Blavat, Murray the K., Joe Smith, The Hound, Little Walter, Woo Woo Ginsburg, Alan Freed. (Guess you can tell I'm from the Northesat!)

  • If this brings back memories of those legends I am quite honored

  • Will the show be available for podcast download or any type of download? I live in the UK and would like it adding to my iphone whenever I sync to listen in the car at a respectable hour!

  • I'm considering that but haven't worked that out quite yet. I may post it up onto Youtube in 15 minute segments as well. What's cool is the show will air 5 different times at completely different times a day. This will help the international listeners out.

  • Hip-hip hurrah ..... oh.... but it will be good. I love doo wop music forever. The show was very excellent to me. Very pleasant your sound. I wait for it the September 15. See ya

  • Good luck with your show, PJ! You surely have enough music and info to run it

  • PJ, forgot to mention the song Long Time by Ronnie Cates and the Travellers is one of ALL time favorites..*smiles*

  • Good music, good voice, great show! You're getting a great response and I can see why!

  • Thanks so much bro, and happy birthday!!!!!

  • Oh Man! Makes me homesick. WING 1410AM Dayton OH. Back in the day, the very first radio station I really listened to on purpose. And you have the sound track.

    Thanks, PJ.

  • Glad you enjoyed it. The show will be weekly starting on September 15.

  • Is that our PJ voice ? Fantastic..I shared with all my friends on Facebook and also via email..we will be listening..thank you for keeping this music alive..it is classic..just like you PJ

  • Good Luch I'm with ya.

    HubietheSaint

  • Awesome.. I'm glad to know people will be listening

  • Sounds like it's gonna be good...cool idea PJ! I look forward to checking it out! I kinda like that echo effect too. Don't know if you did that on purpose but leave it as is. It adds an eerie quality...in a good way! ;)

  • Glad you like it. I did add the echo intentionally. CBS-FM used to have a really heavy echo on their djs and I always liked the sound, so I did what I could to recreate it here.

  • HI PJ !!

SO GOOD TO HEAR FROM YA AGAIN!

    I LOVE THIS RADIO SHOW!

    FANTASTIC SONGS MY FRIEND!

  • Looking forward to your show, I'll be listening. Great echo.

  • Really Nice #1

  • PJ you have my mouth watering. I can't wait!

  • Very cool.. The show will air September 15 on Destination Doo Wop radio. I'll give more details in a week or so

  • awesome listen pj! a very distinct echo in the background, but unless ya got yourself a soundproof studio, it's all good!

  • I emulated the German EMT 140 echo plate that was used in many a studio. Glad you thought it's a cool listen. We've got a lot of radio history between the two of us

  • cant wait
