@nubie232 Normally no one is at the station. Unless someone just happens to be there for a call. We are not paid. Also we are lucky if we get a call in a day. Some days we will have two or three but most days we dont have one. We average 230 calls a year.
@Boeing757luvr Depending on where the call is Yes. If its closer to drive to the scene I will, If its pass the scene then I will drive to go get the ambulance. Also depends on the time of day and how many people are around.
as a responder you get a call on your cell that you are needed? you then respond by going to the ems station? then you take an ambulance and go to the scene of the incident?
@modelearth he is a volunteer firefighter the calls are sent out over a pager/radio system and depending on location he will either go directly to the scene or to the firestation to pick up any number of apparatus they have

@lightbarlover I can go however fast I can without putting the public in danger. I usually do about 65-70 MPH. Depending on traffic and speed zones.
