When you first plug in the battery, the charger allows only a little bit of power to be let into the battery. Then, the battery needs to show the charger that it is still able to be recharged, and battery controller goes into recharge mode(red), but if your battery died to the point where it's got no power at all, then it thinks the battery is bad and stops charging(green).

So plug the controller in and out and let the power trickle in until it's got enough power to charge itself.

@mewtwo700 I know, about 90% sure it's not the wire, I have a wire in my close, it's the shitty batteries. just cut the battery pack open, and replace them with energizer regchargeable batteries. cost me $6. Instead of buying a brand new MS battery pack, for $10. or use the original AA battery pack holder the xbox 360 kit came with

Bonus, you can recharge these batteries with the wire. and they last MUCH longer

You take the battery pack apart lift up the batterys inside replace the tape inside ( that on top of the chip) with a thin peace of cardboard on the left side of the chip and tape it down with electric tape, then put everything back in it place super glue it up and your good to go

its because the copper inside the wire damages very easily, mine does the same

the bit of wire which is nearest the part where the controller attaches to is the most likely part to be damaged.

i have had two faulty wires now in 2.5 years

2. Plug in the charger kit onto the controller and the controller should turn RED.

3. Turn the console OFF with the controller by pressing the guide button ...with the charging kit still plugged in... YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CONSOLE OFF REALLY FAST WITH THE CONTROLLER BEFORE IT TURNS GREEN......... NOW THE CONTROLLER IS CHARGING...

i had exactly the same issue with recharging my controller, all you have to do is, keep plugging and unplugging your charger cable inot and from your controller.. approx 4-8 times.. and eventually it will stay red and not turn to green after about 10 secs.. no promises but this worked for me!! ^_^

Your Game and Charge kit is broken. The kit has bronze cables on the inside, does are broken, You need to: A) Open the cord and put then together again. B) Twist and start twisting it repeatly till it turns red, then don't move it till it recharges. You'll have to do this every time to recharge it. C) Buy another Play and Charge.
