@pppjjjaaayyy Forcier played better than Pryor all season long. Forcier ended up with slightly worse stats due to the fact that he threw 4 picks and had a fumble in the last game of the season (terrible) but as a freshman, you have to expect a guy might have one bad game against your arch rivals.
If you take out the last game of the season for both quarterbacks, Tate Forcier has better stats last year than Terrelle Pryor in vertually every catagory.

Basch's statement and yours are not mutually exclusive. While the SEC did indeed go 7-2 with the NC this season, Michigan is 7-3 in bowl games vs the SEC.

Notre Dame has gone to a lot of BCS bowls recently. 2007 was the worst ND year in recent history. Penn State was in a coma from 1999-2004, but emerged like the phoenix from the ashes in 2005 and was 1 second away from a national championship. Ohio State clearly belonged in the BCS this year, but not the year before (too many close call wins last year). And Michigan had a great year in 2006 despite a loss to USC in the Rose Bowl.

Actually, college football started with the Ivy League. Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State helped spread its popularity outside of the east coast in the 1880s and 1890s. The southeast didn't pick up on college football until later. And as far as BCS games go, the Pac-10 and Big 12 dominate them, not the SEC. However, SEC and Big Ten teams are prominent.

Penn State's actually in the Appalachian Mountains, not on the east coast. Closest major city to Penn State is famed railroad city Altoona, PA, also known as the mountain city. East coast would be New Jersey and southeastern PA. Penn State is closer to the Ohio border than the eastern shoreline.

The regular season in college is great, but when u get to the bowls that matter, its fucked up. The only games that matter are the BCS. I went to the UGA, Florida game last year. It was good. I honestly can see UGA slipping up somewhere in their schedule, theirs is tough. Fl has a good shot, i think they should give harvin the ball all day. I know that the SEC is the toughest, i live in SEC country. Michigan matches up well with the SEC though. @pppjjjaaayyy Forcier played better than Pryor all season long. Forcier ended up with slightly worse stats due to the fact that he threw 4 picks and had a fumble in the last game of the season (terrible) but as a freshman, you have to expect a guy might have one bad game against your arch rivals.
If you take out the last game of the season for both quarterbacks, Tate Forcier has better stats last year than Terrelle Pryor in vertually every catagory.

As a florida fan i'll say i wasn't too disappointed with michigan winning...to go 0-4 against ohio st. and in bowl games would have been too painful of a note to end on w/ coach carr. We're a young team with 21 starters coming back next year.
But I really just want to comment on Basch152 who said Michigan owns the SEC. The SEC had by far the best record in bowl games, going 7-2 w/ a NC.
It is by far the best conference. Please don't ignore the facts. :)

Basch's statement and yours are not mutually exclusive. While the SEC did indeed go 7-2 with the NC this season, Michigan is 7-3 in bowl games vs the SEC.
That might not be 'ownership,' but it's a fairly dominant landlord-tenant relationship.

i think it kinda has to do with regional pride. people who root for the SEC have southern pride and people who root for the Big 10 have midwestern pride. both are very proud and tradition rich parts of the country. the copetition would be nice, but maybe tone down the intensity a little bit. best of luck to michigan, and sense i've never met a florida fan, i'll assume that they're a classy bunch and wish them a good season next year, too.

Notre Dame has gone to a lot of BCS bowls recently. 2007 was the worst ND year in recent history. Penn State was in a coma from 1999-2004, but emerged like the phoenix from the ashes in 2005 and was 1 second away from a national championship. Ohio State clearly belonged in the BCS this year, but not the year before (too many close call wins last year). And Michigan had a great year in 2006 despite a loss to USC in the Rose Bowl.

Actually, college football started with the Ivy League. Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State helped spread its popularity outside of the east coast in the 1880s and 1890s. The southeast didn't pick up on college football until later. And as far as BCS games go, the Pac-10 and Big 12 dominate them, not the SEC. However, SEC and Big Ten teams are prominent.

Penn State's actually in the Appalachian Mountains, not on the east coast. Closest major city to Penn State is famed railroad city Altoona, PA, also known as the mountain city. East coast would be New Jersey and southeastern PA. Penn State is closer to the Ohio border than the eastern shoreline.

Three hours? Only if you want to risk getting a hefty speeding ticket. It's close to 250 miles last I checked. East coast refers to anybody near enough to the shoreline to be influenced by the ocean. That only extends to maybe as far west as Allentown.
Also, I'm sure you remember 2002, who won the NCG? Not an SEC team, but a Big 10 team. Same with 1997. And more recently, 2005, it was between USC and Texas, with Big 10 Penn State as a possible candidate.

A shared NC is still a NC. Speaking of that, you have to admit that in 1994 Penn State got robbed. Instead of playing for a NC, they were given Oregon to beat up on. And this was a team that beat Ohio State 63-14 (and it wasn't even that close, PSU led 56-0 at halftime, then took a knee, only other TD was a kickoff return).

The SEC handles almost everyone. But not Michigan and not USC. Those two always handle the SEC. USC should have been in the title and they would have owned LSU. College FB is gay until it gets a PLAYOFF!!!. Their has NEVER been a true champion in the history of CFB. Nuff Said

Thats quite ignorant, every week is a playoff in college football where as the nfl it really doesn't matter if you win or lose you just have to get to 10 wins. It's why the games are so passionate and all the stadiums full... well atleast in the south.

thats why the nation is screaming for a playoff. UGA, USC, and many many others should have had a shot at the title last year. In every sport other than college fb is a tourney, where at the end we know who is hands down the champ. I play for West GA and we have a playoff. the NFL has so many viewers during the playoffs. Id rather have a phenominal ending like the super bowl, the college post season was horrible. All the games were blowouts, not entertaining at all. Except for UM killing Gators.

They were all blowouts... nope sorry buddy, I've got a list of about eight bowls that were amazing matchups and great games, the NFL does gets views in the playoffs... AND THATS IT! Unless you go to a Giants, Pats, Redskins, Chiefs, Steelers game its not a sellout or a big tv audience, The NCAA isn't stupid they know how to make money and the best format for a championship, College football would be destroyed by a playoff, NFL fans want a playoff for college, not college fans.

I like college way better and i want a playoff. Sportsnation did a poll. over 2 million voted and 82 percent wanted a playoff, all of the SEC is begging for a playoff. Even LSU, and they won the whole thing. If u dont think UGA and USC and Missouri and Kansas, and many others though the years dont deserve a shot then thats just wrong. The Big 10(my conference) is the only one in the way. There will be a playoff in the next three years. Auburn getting screwed in 04-05 was a discrace to sports.

The regular season in college is great, but when u get to the bowls that matter, its fucked up. The only games that matter are the BCS. Noone other than the fans of the two teams cares about the smaller bowls. The only BCS game that was close was the Orange, the ratings were horrible. And whats with the fox coverage. Bring back ABC. After lsu won it all, all i heard was UGA or USC should have been in, college fans and espn was saying that. Their is TONS of controversy. College fans care the most

There is a ton of controversy and the way to fix all of it is really very simple, MAKE THE BIG TEN HAVE A CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! Doing that alone would solve michigan and osu every year. The winner of the SEC Championship game for the next ten years will be in the National title game due to the obvious dominance the conference holds.

I would like to see Notre dame join the big ten. Theyre the most overrated of all time but that would give us twelve. I think USC should be in it every year if they win 11 games. They beat out of conference teams to death, aside from Texas. Missou had the biggest beef. LSU lost to Arkansas. Missou MURDERED Arkansas. Missou- left out of BCS, LSU- BCS Champ. That doesnt add up. Missou deserved better. I thought Urban was one of the ones wantin a playoff? Dont take offence to anything, just talkin.

None taken, Bernie our prez did urban just wanted in the title game. The way it is now it favors the SEC, The nation understands that in the SEC you fight for your life every week... big ten??? Not so much... you got Wisconsin, the zooker, UM, and osu... everyone else is a whipping boy, not so in the SEC, anyteam can beat any other team any saturday. 2008 was the greatest year in the SEC, ESPN's SEC night game came down to the last possesion to determine the winner for eight straight weeks...

Mizzou did get punked, however, you have to win your conference title... sorry, thats fair for everyone well except for the big ten who can't figure out its better for there conference to have a championship for national respect and for the winner to have a better draw in the BCS, btw, the SEC would have had three teams in the BCS this year.... the bcs only allows two teams per conference... that makes no sense, moving on 2008 will be just as good for the SEC...

Let it be known now, the winner of the Florida Georgia game will win the BCS, why? That game will be the hardest ticket in the last five years, even though with connections just getting in is 150 a piece, on ebay? about 275 a piece, this year? I don't even wanna think about it, thank God for season tickets, It should be atleast a #2 #3 matchup if not #1 vs #2, whoever makes it out alive will have a downhill ride from there.

I went to the UGA, Florida game last year. It was good. I honestly can see UGA slipping up somewhere in their schedule, theirs is tough. Fl has a good shot, i think they should give harvin the ball all day. I know that the SEC is the toughest, i live in SEC country. Michigan matches up well with the SEC though. We are 8-1 in the last ten years against them. But things for UM will be even worse than last year if we dont get Terrell Pryor. Im a little shaky about Rich Rod. Good coach, wrong system

I don't know if it's the wrong system, I just don't buy Rich as a coach... really what has the guy done except choke in big games. I've never really seen him win a game by outcoaching his opponent. Georgia does have what seems like an impossible three games... Watch and se though, a Richt team is a team of thugs and a thug team usually has trouble playing consistently. Notre Dame should join somewhere, I thought they would make a new rule that would allow 3 win teams to go to a bowl haha

Rich Rod has never had the kind of talent he's gonna get at Michigan. Michigan always recruits well, and now that he is emplementing this new system, there's no telling what kind of players he is going to attract. I wouldn't worry about thugs either. Thugs don't usually have the grades to get into a school like Michigan.

Can't stand ND, lets put them in a BCS game every year and watch the blowout, the amount of alumni does not equal football wins, and Charlie is trash, a good offensive mind, terrible developer of talent and program exec, five years before there even close to back. UM uses zone blocking and its normal in the big ten but not the sec so its a big change for the d line and Lbs but regardless they have had a good run.
