im playing this in my orchestra at school this year.its incredibly fun and beautiful, but dear God! my bow hand cramps SO bad at the end! the first day we got to measure 153 the second time i switched to a German grip it hurt so bad.

Wooh! We're also playing this song in my orchestra, but we shortened it. It's the real 7 minute monster shown in this vid. I say monster because it's the longest song we have ever played.

Also, am I the only one who hears bits of the Metroid Prime theme in this? Or is it just me?

Personally I loved the way this orchestra played this song. You can tell that most of the people really get into the song and that they care about it.

It seems like it would be so much cooler to listen and to see in person than on a recording/video :/

Great Job! It was good, but a little slow. You need to work a lot on dynamics. You can't hear the soloist as well as they SHOULD be heard. Cellos were way too loud and destroyed the viola section. The end kind of fell apart. Weren't listening to each other. The rest was great. Good job again.

Ah, we're playing this for a concert in the spring.. but we had to play it for our seating audition too. It got old rather fast. I still love this piece, though. Very well done. Excellent intonation.

when it comes to "sounding good" it really doesn't matter whether the instrument is electric or not, it really matters on how much work and practice you put forth to make the effort worth while

or course a natural talent can help

but also, quality in an instrument helps tone too
