From the looks of things the powers of the past and present had and still have a if God made it possible lets do it until indicators tell us not to do it mentality.We can see this mentality in products that were once very harmful to the environment but now have been made to do less damage to the environment.If we can't properly control ourselves how can we properly control anything eles?

In fact, they have no nervous system so no nerves either! By what physiological process could they possibly feel pain? Pain seems rather superfluous to a plant, since they could not move away from any source of pain anyway so it would provide no survival value whatsoever.

There's no doubt that vegetarianism is more ecologically sound than meat eating -- by an order of magnitude. Meat-eating was sustainable when there were half a billion people on the planet; it's maybe unsustainable now, and certainly unsustainable in a future of 10-12 billion people, most of whom will want to eat more meat. Humans will never balance with nature. Every industry on the planet will have to be re invented and population will have to be controlled. That will never happen. Global warming is the result of the earths natural cycles in relation to the sun's natural cycles, and the increase we see in CO2 is the result of global warming, not the other way around.

Egg production would create emissions in the same ways as any animal production. They emissions created growing food for the animals, transporting it, electricity to run the factory situation, then the emissions from the packaging and transport of the product to market. Of course, these problems are not isolated to animal industry, they apply to any facet of industry, but in the case of concentrated animal production, the problems are doubled and, of course, much more easily avoided.

There are a few problems with this video right away, although the heart is in the right place and the conclusion is pretty much right.
From the research I've seen, much of the GHGs produced in animal industry come from factory processes, transportation, fertilizer and production of animal food etc.
Blaming the slave animals for global warming is not fair, even if well intentioned. Furthermore, animal manure is a natural nutrient for soil. Calling it useless is just ecologically wrong.

In fact, they have no nervous system so no nerves either! By what physiological process could they possibly feel pain? Pain seems rather superfluous to a plant, since they could not move away from any source of pain anyway so it would provide no survival value whatsoever.

There's no doubt that vegetarianism is more ecologically sound than meat eating -- by an order of magnitude. Meat-eating was sustainable when there were half a billion people on the planet; it's maybe unsustainable now, and certainly unsustainable in a future of 10-12 billion people, most of whom will want to eat more meat. Holy shit. Everyone who has seen Al Gore's film and ever had even an intro to debate can see the complete lack of information in his theory. just blank charts and unlabeled graphs mixed with pictures of disasters (even an atomic exsplosion...) to scare ignorant people into giving government more athority. now they're trying to convince me to stop eating meat by having a bunch of people who barely speak english talk about eating beans and tofu. For the record, i don't care about cow farts.

This planet has spent most of its existance without polar ice caps and supported huge populations. Namely from the mesozoic through the cretacious period or about 250 million years. There were no people there were no cars and raising cattle for livestock and no ice caps. The earth has survived for 4.5 billion years, its suffered through huge impacts by celestial bodies massive geological events that make the japan earthquake look like nothing. We are nothing to our planet it doesn't care.

Ich bin nicht über die ersten paar Minuten hinausgekommen - das sind doch nichts als Lügen. Al Gores Film wurde von einem britischen Richter aufgrund der zahlreichen Unrichtigkeiten als politischer Film eingestuft. Ausserdem sind die Temeperaturen seit 10 Jahren rückläufig - das musst inzwischen ganz offiziell zugegeben werden....

Great documentary. But interesting this that in our country we have problem with too much forests. Because of that wild animals don't get enough grass to eat and just to let them to go out of forest to the sun light. And in our country, the biggest nature and wild animal saviors are hunters. Maybe strange to some but it's the truth.

This has to be a joke right? Do these people take into account how much volcanoes and oceans emit co2. It has already been proven that changes in solar activity is the main reason for climate change on earth. Simply put, farm animales burping and farting methane pales to how much green house gasses volcanoes and oceans release. Man made global warming is a hoax, and its about time we all realize this.

A good start to help alleviate the problem would be for everyone to have three vegan days per week. This is a much more manageable option for many people than a complete change and could result in a quicker and larger change than a smaller amount of people becoming vegan. People, do what you can...you'll change the world for the better!

@digitalis7 We should all become vegetarians; that would be a good begining. We should all become buddhists ! Buddhists have claimed for thousands of years that humans should rely entirely on vegetables and fruits for their food. And so have the indians who are also mostly vegetarians....So animals could live freely, we would not have sausages and stuff...so complicated food to produce anyway...

Humans will never balance with nature. Every industry on the planet will have to be re invented and population will have to be controlled. That will never happen. Our path is for destruction and there is no other alternative. I will give to earth what I can but I know it wont be enough. I can live without meat or at least ration it but the fat white collar slob next door will keep eating 12 Big Macs a day. When humans meet there fate I just hope the natural world is spared.
