@ImTheBest179 you need to either buy a Windows 7 Home Premium software upgrade disk from Best Buy, Online, etc. Or you can find a copy to download of the internet (not exactly legal) and burn it onto a 4 or 5gb disk (or at least i think its around 4 or 5).

@TheJCNation Yes. When you start computer, press and hold the command button (cmd) or C and there should come window where you can select between Mac and Windows partitions.

You need to press and keep holding the command or C button right away when you hear the start up sound and getting the partition window can be bit tricky as you must press the button right away computer starts up before the Apple logo pops up.

@SergeantDonut1 Yes, you don't need a brand new windows for BootCamp. BootCamp creates own partition for windows onto your hard drive (in english it splits your hard drive into 2 parts, 1 for mac 1 for windows) nothing else.

after partition is ready you need to put installation DVD to DVD drive and bootcamp will restart your computer and starts windows, rest is like you would install windows to PC

i have been having some problems with the product. When i was installing even thought i put the product key it kept saying that it was invalid and to try again and since i didnt have any choice but to move i just installed without the product key i was wondering why this was happening and how i can register my windows

@vishalmonteiro If you downloaded Windows from internet for free, the product key isn't valid and you need to go to shop and buy Windows or download windows validation crack which of course is illegal.

If you bought the windows from some shop, go to the shop and tell them that you got invalid product key and they will check it for you and give you new product key if you really got invalid product key

I am on macbook pro and when i go onto Boot Camp Assistant ( Because i want sony vegas on my macbook pro). I get this message

"The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved.

Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again."

insert your installer disc that came with your mac and do the installation, after that you should be able to partition it. i had the same problem

@xDunkyMunky The hard drive has data on both ends of the drive. For your to be able to partition, you need a piece of continues hard drive space. I booted of an utilities CD which has idefrag(moves all data on hdd to one side, optimizes speeds and etc) . I defraged my hardrive. took about 5 hour for a 500gb hdd. Tried again and everything worked :D There is a myth that Mac automatically defrag themselves, but that i think is for files that are 20mb or less. This problem is likely fr large files.
