  • Such A Shame To Leave A Perfictly Good Engine In The Woods.

  • @skyman2002 i know, its been there for about a year now.

  • 1061 was in the woods for 15 years. 1992-2007.

  • @mmandmcb14 was that the switch loco in Needham?

  • Yes. And I hope in the future they will find an alco to become the replica of the orignal.

  • @mmandmcb14 i heard in 2007 they brought it down to the wye behind the Needham Roche Brothers store and scraped it for metal. To bad, i liked it in the woods behind the needham towers it was like a hidden treasure that not alot of people knew about.

  • Will that this happen to 1701. or will it be sold to the grafton and upton just like 1702 & 2443?

  • @mmandmcb14 Actually they may open this line again, theres a ton of empty warehouses/buildings in Millis that may be bought by a couple businesses like Home Depot or Lowes in the future which would make this line very useful. As for 1701, its in great shape except for graffiti and a few broken windows. But then again thats just the exterior of the locomotive.
