Carpenter is BRILLIANT!

He embodies everything a TRUE horror director should be.

He doesn't do it with gore, he does it by building suspense, great camera work, perfect settings, and his musical scores are ingenious. The man IS an artist. Long live John Carpenter!

Yeah, I wish he was younger and had a studio deal and some successfull hits at the North American box office, as he is so underrated. He's had many seminal classics and also very good and decent movies.

John is a mad genius, and I've met him twice now and he's super cool, but FUCK, for someone so smart, he really, REALLY need's to cut down on the Marlboro's or whatever he is smokin' these days. I met him at an L.A. genre convention once and started a second pack and got halfway through it once before he left his panel.
