  • What's this like for thrash metal? and how's the action? :P

  • @Smit2k11 The action is great but that might be because if you get a guitar from sweetwater that do a set up on it before they ship it. I don't play metal but I'm sure it would be fine but there probably is better guitars out there specifically for thrash metal so your call

  • @KurTCurtis21 thanks, it's just this guitar is so beautiful it's unreal, and most guitars for metal tend to be almost identical :( great vid thanks :)

  • Is the guitar comfortable to play? On my guitar there is a rounded down egde for the right arm and it feels very comfortable...

  • @lalschl There is no rounded edge but it doesn't really bother me. I guess it depends on the players preferences

  • Comment removed

  • @KurTCurtis21 I ordered it yesterday. I hope it arrives soon :D

    THX for your Vid

  • @lalschl Were you still able to order the 25th anniversary model?

  • @KurTCurtis21 Yes, I live in switzerland. I found the guitar in an online shop.

  • Pretty guitar, son! I love the feel of those guitars...the action and the tone is awesome!

  • I tryed one out today, it's got a great action, the notes ring out really well, however there's nothing on this guitar that makes me think it's worth the £600 price tag, i think you're just paying for the special edition status and the PRS name on this guitar..

  • @liambannin In this case SE means student edition not special edition.

  • @Abon666 I know, i just mean that it's a special edition in the fact that its a 25th anniversary edition.

  • i want one :D

  • what are SE models?

  • @cybrhckr Student Editions

  • @cybrhckr the korean made ones that are not as good as the Prs that cost thousands. They are still amazing guitars though and well worth the money

  • the Higer end models are made in the USA i did my research.

  • great demo

  • wow, tha guita looks amazing, i'll definatly have to look more into PRS guitars

  • is this guitar worth the money? and how much is it?

  • please tell me what are the songs at 2.55 and at 3.13

  • @ApocalypticLarry50 2:55 was an intro to a song I wrote and at 3:13 I was just messing around playing random chords

  • @KurTCurtis21

Im thinking of getting this guitar or the prs mike mushok baritone what do you think

  • guitar is amazing but player sucks : s no offense

  • The Bird inlays are sexy...

  • How do you like the tremolo on that thing?

  • The guitar looks classy but I compared them both and a real PRS is still worlds better. To bad they cost so much.

  • i just bought the royal blue versioin.. i just want to add the locking tunners... other than that it sounds amazing .. my next guitar hopefully will be (when my chops reach there) will be the tremonti model!! lol

  • beautiful guitar, i got mine in vintage yellow =) great guitar in its price range.

  • nice guitar, hows the neck? is it thin/fast? is the guitar heavy?

  • @jasonism123 The neck is pretty thin not extremely thin though. The guitar isn't really heavy but I wouldn't say it is light either. Somewhere in the middle

  • this guitar is amazing! the only slight problem i have with it is the neck is a little wider than what im used to playing (epiphone custom) but otherwise has an amazing sound to it.

  • hey i'm a frenchy, i dunno if you tried the Schecter hellraiser C1 FR cause i want to buy it but since it's imported from US it cost like 1100 euros..But that PRS sounds pretty good..and it's as good as a schecter for only 550 euros(i've been told)...so I really wanna be sure, would you recommend the PRS for metal/hardcore songs... btw the song you played with gain kicks ass ;) and thanks for fully showing the guitar not many reviewers do that ^^

  • i got one of these put dimarzio pups in er and sh sounds beautiful

  • <3 the bird inlay

  • Just a quick question.. How is the feel of this guitar? Is the action good?

  • TUNE!

  • This was actually really helpful, thanks. Unfortunately it just confirms to me I would rather wait one day (in the far future) to get a crazy priced Custom 24 and not an SE... >.<

  • do u think i could get a good petrucci style sound with this guitar

  • It just looks wrong without the carved top :(

  • always thought the owl was supposed to be a turtle...

  • @wiseman501 yoo I'm dumbshit... What's difference between asain made guitars compared to American made?? Thanks :3

  • @hellow504jr american is top quality

  • @ElCuatro1991 thanks :)

  • @hellow504jr

With the exception of Asian based companies (like Ibanez, who makes their highest quality guitars in Japan), American guitars are MUCH higher quality, MUCH better feeling, and MUCH better sounding than Asian guitars.

On the other hand, American guitars are MUCH more pricy. Choose wisely...

  • Wheres the Whammy??

  • @Moshiro117 a song my friend wrote

  • @KurTCurtis21 hey do you have the vocal for the first song?

  • @KurTCurtis21 are these guitars any good for playing guns n roses and buckethead? thanks for the vid

  • @phazonmangowarlord You don't any type of special guitar to play guns and roses or buckethead. You can learn/play any song on any guitar. if you are going for those tones it's more important how your amp sounds. I play death metal and jazz all with the same guitar (Schecter c-1 classic) and same amp (H&K warp x). It's all about how you set up your tone in the amp more than anything. The guitar choice doesnt make as drastic of a difference as the amp does.

  • @samophlangetwo good point well made. if u could in that case recommend a good amp that doesnt cost too much, i will greatly aprtiate it!! however, u know its easier to shred on some guitars than others, right? so technialy the guitar is important and effects the tone etc, but your right, the amp can get more tones. even still, you should have a guitar that feels comfortable and if u shred, there are guitars that u can do it better on because of the neck

  • 4:44 Put your lights on - Santana?

  • @Chuckmeister92 yup

  • @OakPark11MileRd Okay, if you're so good let's have a contest. Post a video. I WAS going to let you have the last word but you have an issue with courtesy. Why are you so into insulting people? Is that the only way your obtuse mind can figue out how to degrade someone? I'm tired of throwing flotsam at eachother. I shall no longer fuel your desire to troll. BTW, I already HAVE two strats, a Les paul custom, an SG and some that I made, plus acoustics. Maybe I wanted to add to my collection?

  • @Wiseman501 I dread jumping in here, but it looks to me that you and and that dj crabs guy dogpiled oakpark after he expressed an opinion. You seemed pretty defensive about his comment, actually. I happen to agree with him. It looks like a 24, and the tone is alright, but $650? For that I would have at least expected the locking tuners to make the tremolo practical. Hey, prs is doing what other big names are doing: making big bucks from korean guitars with their name on the headstock.

  • @Wiseman501 I also AGREE with your statement about prs being one of the best brands, obviously used by many, But their USA models have gotten them that reputation. I mean, come on, I can appreciate a reasonably priced guitar that plays okay, but I can't speak to someone who says their new squier strat sounds even better than an american fender.

  • @mcneely2818 I never liked those peaople either, even calling a squier a strat without mentioning that it's a squire annoys me, but squiers suck. This, though it has fewer features than an american CE model, has got the brass. I've compared pickups and they're very similar, almost identical (Made to the same specs) and to tell the truth, locking tuners don't help much unless you don't know how to string a guitar and keep it lubed. Obviously I would prefer the American model, but this isn't bad.

  • @mcneely2818 All my other guitars are Gibson, Fender, Schecter, Ibanez.... I usually go for the american stuff and I have a lot, so I do know what I'm saying when I state that this guitar can stand among them. But again, it would be stupid not to prefer the American models. It's just so wrong to call this one a piece of shit when it's really a quality instrument. That was the whole point of my comment...

  • @OakPark11MileRd Thank you SO much, guitar genius. I suppose you've played guitar and piano since you were four and went through the agony and rewards of 20+ years of practice all to come here and insult something YOU looked up. No? Well I have. Do you know what quality control these are put through? Even the SE's are within 1/1000th of an inch from the original CE. If they have a single flaw, they're CUT IN HALF. You go waste $3K. I'll buy another truck for my band's equip. AND get a guitar.

  • @OakPark11MileRd Look, think what you will. I refuse to have a battle of wit with an unarmed person.

  • @Wiseman501

OakPark11MileRd is just a typical ignorant youtube douchebag. Pay no mind to him. He is clearly frustrated at his own sexuality and is in fear of being openly gay.

  • @DJBkrabi Uh oh, don't infuriate the know-it-all. He's a guitar god. Hahahahaha!!!! He doesn't know that these have the same specs on pickups and the same bridge from the american models, therefore staying in PERFECT tune through a dozen divebombs or trills. Nah, let's just let him have the last word or he'll get his pnties in a twist. Reading the great gatsby apparently did nothing for his taste. I didn't even insult him first. :]

  • @OakPark11MileRd One word to respond to you: Ignorant. (Not stupid, just ignorant of the fact that PRS are some of the finest guitars in the world, even the SE's. Look it up.)

  • Those inlays are so damn awesome!

  • I bought this guitar in royal blue back in March, and I like it so much I just bought another one in scarlet red off of ebay for drop tuning.

If you're looking at guitars in the 500-1000 price range, definitely consider this one. It's gonna be tough to beat.

    BTW - great review.

  • how long do you play guitar? sorry my bad english xD

  • cool video.

I wish it wasnt a flat top though. Honestly, it wouldnt cost that much more if they did. I would buy one and change out the tuners for locking. I also dont like the quilt finishes. Wish they had solid choices. Ah well.

  • @DJBkrabi That's becouse there wouldn't be that much difference between expensive prs guitars, when they would do a curved top...but I agree with you..

  • Beautiful Guitar!!! Incredible sound!

  • @that1guyfromdat1time green grass and high tides.

  • was the second song u played rush?

  • do u think think this guitar would be good for a john petrucci type of playing

  • what dose se stand for?

  • student edition

  • @KurTCurtis21 sorry... please forgive my retardation LOL! i was so transfixed on how killer your guitar looks I just tuned out and drooled... It resembles the 2010 Torero

  • @KurTCurtis21

SE stands for Solid Electrics not for Student Edition

  • Enjoyed your video so much, I went out and got myself one (but in Vintage Yellow). It is everything your said it is., Awesome axe for the PRICE. Not only does it sounds good and versatile , the quality of the workmanship blew me over.

  • you should play progressive black metal if you dont

  • hey man, do uknow if the free shipping is also avalible when shipping to canada?

  • so this guitar is good, I looked at preview it seems very good

  • Why not making a video with the tube amp..

  • Comment removed

  • Why would you play such an awesome guitar into such a cheap amp? Hook it up to a tube amp and let this beast roar!

Great demo though, I'm getting one in the yellow soon I'll have a demo of my own up shortly.

  • That's just my practice amp. I have a tube amp at my band's practice space

  • @usefulcoin hahhahha yeah sure dude... like we all have tube amps laying around to use....lol

  • on musiciansfriend this guitars finish looks super bright! as do all the the 25th anniversary edition custom 24s. is it darker in person? thanks a lot.

  • Good review

  • does anyone know if you need to do work on the bridge to set 11s or 12s on this guitar for drop C tuning? I play alot of Drop C and am thinking of getting this guitar but if anyone knows anything about this please reply or message. Thank you.

  • J214 I play a regular PRS SE 24, and I put on PRS's 12 gauge strings on and only had to do very minor adjustments...oh and by the way I play in drop B for Chevelle and Breaking Benjamin songs and other rock stuff, So yes I think this guitar will handle it

  • @ilivestrong25 awesome man thank you very much. I am a sucker for high guage strings thanks to SRV :P Cant play without em.

  • would this guitar be good for metal? i am trying to decide between this and an esp mh 1000 or an esp mh 351.. i am in a metal band we play music like parkway drive, the acacia strain, august burns red, and the dillinger escape plan.... would this guitar be a good fit for a band of that sort? PLZ REPLY

  • Comment removed

  • @JaredL19 go for the esp. this prs is more of a rock/blues guitar. i would also recommend schecter. they make great metal guitars

  • Not really. If you're going to be playing heavy metal you'd be better off with the ESP. If you're determinded to turn this SE into a metal guitar you could do so by adding some locking tuners like he said, and adding some pickups from EMG or Seymour Duncan.

  • go duncan....EMG's are really stale. That's why I chose this guitar over the new Paul Allender since it has EMG's. I miss the old purple one :-(

  • @JaredL19

    The ESP's

    Try them out yourself mate.

  • @JaredL19 prs make good metal guitars. first id change the pickups.. maybe to a dimarzio of some kind. i reccoment a D-sonic in the neck 120 bucks, and a paf pro in the neck also 120 bucks. i have 2,500 dollar custom 24 and i can shred pettruci stuff on it... prs are good for anything...just a matter of preference. but with prs you get more bang for your buck where as a 1500 dollar esp only is good for metal and rock

  • @bluepilluser45 and for $2500 you should have something that does a lot..they are good guitars but they are not in a class by themselves...

  • @bluepilluser45 dude, you don't even have to change the pickups to get a good metal sound

  • Are they set up for 9s or 10s strings from the factory?

  • @raku10 9's

  • Get some locking tuners and some lube for the nut. It should be great after that.

  • Can't wait I getting the royal blue colour this monday :D:D

  • I don't think the SE has Ballsey pickups either in it.

A real custom 24 has a deep grunt to it that the SE is missing.

  • @GreenMeanie2007 I agree with you to some degree tho. I find the SE has some balls cause i played this baby at my local store through a JCM900 and its sounded amazing, but I also played through a Roland shit combo and it still tickled my stomach and made my chest vibrate lol but yeah the real custom has all the balls but even that dosnt compare to a Gibson Les Paul Standard. PRS and Ibanez are my weapons of choice still :P

  • Coolness!!

I'm gonna save up and get the royal blue version!!

  • I ordered one of these a week ago and am still waiting....

  • i approve of this gloating!

  • if you would want to keep your prs in tune, just hardtail it i didnt post a hardtail video but search it
