If the owner had spent 100,000 on the engine, it would run a quarter mile in a lot less than 12.5 seconds! so i'd say the guy is telling porkies. A standard 4.2 cerb would quite easily do the quarter in under 12.5 secs

the tvr in this video in this manages to do a 11.568, a viper dus a quater mile in 11.800 bearing in mind that the cerbera is 20 years old i think thats what normal people call faster.

The Cerbera produces nowhere near 800bhp. Depending on which engine you go for the most power you will get is 440bhp from the 4.5 Red Rose. Although if your disappointed, try one - then you won't be ;). Going by the noise I think this is a 4.2 Cerb

This is my mates TVR, his name is Craig, hes now moved to Dubai and brought a corvette, hes spent nearl 100,000 on the engine for this TVR, so basically no there is nothing that would beat it.

@xBabiiAMx Listen mate, if your guy spent 100000 quid on the motor and only got an 11 sec quarter mile out of it, he got took. A Cerbera with just a sprinkle of mods and a good driver can run the number. I know that there are quite a few motors around that can put the spank on that car, so either he's sandbaggin' or it's just plain slow.

Not been funny bud but i have a fiat bravo hgt with a coupe 20vt engine running just short of 300bhp and a 12 is not out of my reach ive not run mine yet but a lad who i know who had pretty much sae setup as me run a low 12 £100k id be very dissapointed my car has only cost £3000 to build lol

this is the V8 one. its on a flat plane crank like modern Ferrari V8s so it doesnt sound like a traditional V8 like the old Rover V8 did for example which you get in the chimaera and griffith etc

The TVR Cerbera was only fitted with an Inline-6

There were 3 engines available including the 4.0l straight 6. The other two (and the better of the 3 engines in my opinion) was the 4.2 and 4.5l AJP V8 Engines - as you see in this video. Going by the noise i think this is a 4.2

I won the 1999 Midland speed sprint Championship (circuits) and TVRCC Speed Championship setting 4 lap records that year. Additionally, i drag raced my bog-standard Cerbera 4.2 and with a 12.33 time and a 134mph terminal was awarded the TVRcc fastest TVR award at the 'Back Home' event in 1998.
