@TheOtoshiGod how do they ruin resident evil? they are just as scary as the old ones but they have been reinvented from a slow paced survival horror games to more fast paced action survival horror games,and RE5 was was MUCH MORE classic resident evil that 4 was,there was lickers,there was enemies that could actually bite you just like zombies,instead of the 4's ganados that slammed you to the ground,there was also this survival horror 9 slot inventory which made the game a lot more intense

why it isnt scary: 1: the zombie look like normal guys
2:they cuted off the cutscenes where gore is show (it isnt change the scary factor but make it look like its lame)
3: you have a partner
4: zombie riding bikes(wtf?)
5:the story is getting a litlle bit strange
cmon capcom! i remember the first resident evil, it has the scaryest. they should start the story all over from making a resident evil 1 re-make and change the story line
@austin1041 There are ZERO horror elements to the entire game. It focuses solely on action and pure combat aspects while very clearly downplaying puzzles and atmosphere. Honestly even Resident Evil 4 was scarier than this. In truth, Albert Wesker was the ONLY good thing about this game and even then Capcom fucking destroyed the franchise forever with the ending for this game so it matters little. One scary game my ass, I didn't stutter even for a moment.

this game wasn't scary, the original resident evil games were, after part 4 it just started to feel like an action game. RE5 was still good though as the plot thickened haha
Exaxctly what I thought, although I've never played 4. Resident Evil has always been a really panicky game, more so than scary.
This is like devil may cry, in terms of it being more 'cool' than scary. I love the game, its my favourite in the series, but its also the least scary. I dont care though, Im too busy killing zombies.
Silent Hill on the other hand, now thats a consistently scary game (not played 5 yet)
Also Condemned is one of the scariest PC games, yet hardly any1 knows about it!
i was expecting this game to give me the shits but.. the zombies and monsters looked as if they came from a ghostbusters film, overall the game was great!
I really enjoyed RE5, but it's a shame that Capcom didn't actually put any "survival" or "horror" into it. With all the weapons I had, nothing made me nervous. Still fun to play in coop, though.
Yea same here. I remember how you had to play the old ones, like avoiding as many zombies as u can, never using the weak ass hard to swing knife, and only shoot when you absolutely have no choice, because health and bullets were as rare as a brothel in the Vatican! I was always pretty crap at the old ones though LOL, except code veronica, hate tank control games.

Yea your right! I have to say, I did fuck up quite a lot from panic, like when you have to quietly sneak through the "licker zoo" and Sheva just started blasting away, so I ran like hell!

sorry i meant Outbreak, in very hard, it has very limited ammo, you kill zombies and new ones start coming through doors, play this one and you can say zombies are stupid, but they are really fast.
really 4 and 5 are great games, they have lots of fun, I just hate how they made the story really simple, or that Wesker can dodge bullets and get killed, that's just stupid, also, how easy the game was, aim to the head, or the legs, run towards them throw a punc, and almos every enemy arround the player flies away, even if they are behind, and, smart?, maybe they're fast, and there are like 20 of them, but still they are stupid, the hardest RE that I played was Oubreak 2.
i didn't say anything about those 2, i am just saying that I consider outbreak 2 harder than 4 or 5, if they're hard for you, good, I find them easy, if it is hard to someone else, it's fine.

yeah idk, nothing compares to the original resident evil. It was actually scary and made you solve puzzles to "survive" the game, hence survival horror. If anything all the games starting after the first resident evil are repitition, with minimal surviving and just shooting. Dont get me wrong that is very fun, but theres plenty of other games that do that, like left for dead or dead rising.
Nowadays everyone's obessed with CoD and L4D because they're intense shooters that keep you on the edge of your seat. That's what resident evil needed to change to in order to survive. It could have done with a higher scare factor and puzzles but it's amazing this way.

its true residente vil 5 did feel more of an action game than a survival horror but i think the game was awsome, at least wesker died, i know it suck he was an awsome bad guy but he had to die soem day at least now capcom finished this chapter of residente vil and can start again from the ground up with another I hope next time around there are zombies and freaky monsters again.

I don't know man. REmake with surround sound in a basement at night was one of the most terrifying experiences I ever had with a game. The older games were definitely filled with more suspense.
I'm actually getting that version. With the way things are in this gaming generation you have to wait a year with some companies because they'll release one thing and then release a much better version later. For example, GOTY editions.

1) Zombies don't do anything. They just moan and stumble their way towards you. The plaga-infectees are smarter than them, thus making them.. SMARTER. :o
2) Just because RE4 and RE5 weren't scary doesn't mean they're bad games.
3) The original REs aren't that scary either. Maybe Resident Evil 0, but that's it.

i was a bit disappointed in this game sadly, all the other REs were scary and survival horror, this one ruined it by making it an action game, and i neveronce ran out of ammo with anything accept like the machine gun, and it wasnt even hard by the old ones comparisons
well i like it its not scary just a bit of something called terror in this game of running out of bullets and all but believe me without the trainer this game can't be enjoyed you wont progress the way you should no matter you play easy or normal mode this game has this little weirdness about its gameplay and that is that it needs bit help with cheat and all to progress through otherwise you and your partner will keep on dying again and again.
RE4 is just as bad, you want a true survival horror game pick up RE Archives on the wii, or RE Directors Cut off of PSN, or I believe by the end of the year the PSN should also have RE2 and RE3

what i think, is that this is the same as resident evil 4, same player interface, apart from the menu. 3rd person, even zombie movements are taken from the RE 4. except that graphics are better, but ideas are dissapointing to me. those chainsaw guys, the same as in RE 4, just different appearance. this should be Resident Evil 4.5, not 5.

The biggest problem with these titles was you rarely thought monsters, and those parts were limited and they used to be a staple of the series, that did nothing but hurt it.
Ots isn't better then old cam, but if used properly in cramped environments like dead space then fighting nemesis in re3 would bring a whole new meaning to the word fear, nemesis could jump out of more places and zombies hide in dark areas, then jump out at you.

this game wasn't scary, the original resident evil games were, after part 4 it just started to feel like an action game. RE5 was still good though as the plot thickened haha

Exaxctly what I thought, although I've never played 4. Resident Evil has always been a really panicky game, more so than scary.
This is like devil may cry, in terms of it being more 'cool' than scary. I love the game, its my favourite in the series, but its also the least scary. I dont care though, Im too busy killing zombies.
Silent Hill on the other hand, now thats a consistently scary game (not played 5 yet)
Also Condemned is one of the scariest PC games, yet hardly any1 knows about it!

I really enjoyed RE5, but it's a shame that Capcom didn't actually put any "survival" or "horror" into it. With all the weapons I had, nothing made me nervous. Still fun to play in coop, though.

Yea same here. I remember how you had to play the old ones, like avoiding as many zombies as u can, never using the weak ass hard to swing knife, and only shoot when you absolutely have no choice, because health and bullets were as rare as a brothel in the Vatican! I was always pretty crap at the old ones though LOL, except code veronica, hate tank control games.
Love RE5, whether its scary or not, you still panic to hell though!

Yea your right! I have to say, I did fuck up quite a lot from panic, like when you have to quietly sneak through the "licker zoo" and Sheva just started blasting away, so I ran like hell!

really 4 and 5 are great games, they have lots of fun, I just hate how they made the story really simple, or that Wesker can dodge bullets and get killed, that's just stupid, also, how easy the game was, aim to the head, or the legs, run towards them throw a punc, and almos every enemy arround the player flies away, even if they are behind, and, smart?, maybe they're fast, and there are like 20 of them, but still they are stupid, the hardest RE that I played was Oubreak 2.

yeah idk, nothing compares to the original resident evil. It was actually scary and made you solve puzzles to "survive" the game, hence survival horror. If anything all the games starting after the first resident evil are repitition, with minimal surviving and just shooting. Dont get me wrong that is very fun, but theres plenty of other games that do that, like left for dead or dead rising.

Nowadays everyone's obessed with CoD and L4D because they're intense shooters that keep you on the edge of your seat. That's what resident evil needed to change to in order to survive. It could have done with a higher scare factor and puzzles but it's amazing this way.

its true residente vil 5 did feel more of an action game than a survival horror but i think the game was awsome, at least wesker died, i know it suck he was an awsome bad guy but he had to die soem day at least now capcom finished this chapter of residente vil and can start again from the ground up with another I hope next time around there are zombies and freaky monsters again.

I don't know man. REmake with surround sound in a basement at night was one of the most terrifying experiences I ever had with a game. The older games were definitely filled with more suspense.

well i like it its not scary just a bit of something called terror in this game of running out of bullets and all but believe me without the trainer this game can't be enjoyed you wont progress the way you should no matter you play easy or normal mode this game has this little weirdness about its gameplay and that is that it needs bit help with cheat and all to progress through otherwise you and your partner will keep on dying again and again.

what i think, is that this is the same as resident evil 4, same player interface, apart from the menu. 3rd person, even zombie movements are taken from the RE 4. except that graphics are better, but ideas are dissapointing to me. those chainsaw guys, the same as in RE 4, just different appearance. this should be Resident Evil 4.5, not 5.

The biggest problem with these titles was you rarely thought monsters, and those parts were limited and they used to be a staple of the series, that did nothing but hurt it.
Ots isn't better then old cam, but if used properly in cramped environments like dead space then fighting nemesis in re3 would bring a whole new meaning to the word fear, nemesis could jump out of more places and zombies hide in dark areas, then jump out at you.
