  • I would hit that girl :P

  • GTX 200s are still very powerfull

  • Intel + Nvidia Rulez!!!

  • @mariojunior1992 stupid fan boy like u will only drive up their products prices.

  • @mintico Problem??? Stupid!

  • i dont knon alot about computer mats, but is graphic cards and gpus the same shit ? PLEASE REPLY

  • @Thorgar88 yeah gpu stand for graphic processing unit mate

  • nvidia! That asian girl who talk last is hooootttttt! Let her know haha plz

  • I just had to RMA my XFX 8800 ultra. They replaced it with a GTX 260. I just got it today. WOW its a great card.

  • I think ATI and Nvidia should make there GPUs as CPUs

  • see: NVIDIA GT300

  • Agree with you~~~

  • My HP slimline

2.3ghz AMD Athlon dual core 64 bit

    4gb of ram

    ATI Radeon HD 3450 DDR2 256MB pci e 16x 2.0 low profile

    250gb sata 7200rpm hard drive

  • Why ATI,AMD. It sucks ass. Go for intel and nvidia.

  • 2 4870x2s is better than 3 gtx 280s!

  • ...you're kidding, right?

  • i say go with the market, like now that nvidia made the gtx 260 core 216 the card rocks and its cheap so GO NVIDIA FOR NOW!

  • yeah, I agre with LimeSlimez. I was making a new computer a few days ago, I went with the best bang for your buck card (while still meeting my gaming needs), and it was the GTX 260 Core 216. GREAT card, does everything I wanted and more.

  • cool! am getting that card but i'll go with the superclocked one, btw whats this whole 55nm and 65nm thing going on?

  • hmmm alot of people are asking that.

First of all, the superclocked one is great, that's what I have and I've even tweaked it higher :D.

Second of all, the 55nm and 65nm are the size of the chipset, in nanometers. Smaller is better, because according to physics it will produce less heat for the same amount of energy used, thus being both more efficient and less hot.

  • Melting point is higher, don't overclock~~~

  • A 350W load is seemingly far lower than the limit of a 500W power supply, but it is not the case. When a power supply is constantly loaded with a wattage that is more than 50% or more of its peak capacity, its life will diminished, and when a power supply dies, it could take all the components with it. My system usually consumes around 350W when running games, and I actually use a 1000W power supply from Silverstone. There are GTX280, C2Q Q6600@3.2GHz, several hard drives, and other parts in it.

  • ok ty i actually decided im going to get the 260 gtx from PNY because this is the cheapest 200 series card atm and vista ultimate and ill try and get a new PSU

  • HEY i got a xfx 8800gt and im going to get this card soon but i read that the 8800gt has a 670MHz Core Clock while the 280gtx only has a 576 MHz Clock, why??

  • Good question. The 8800GT GPU on your graphics card features 112 processing units while a GTX280 GPU has 240 processing units that make GTX280 runs much faster even thought it is running at a slower frequency. You can tell that 112 X 670MHz is still much slower than 240 x 576MHz. In fact, each shader processing unit in GTX280 GPU is supposed be more efficient than the one running on your 8800GT because GTX280 is a newer design. I owned 8800GT, and I am current using a GTX280 video card.

  • ok ty for responding :) also is 500w enough for the 280gtx?

  • If a system equipped with a Geforce GTX280 is not overclocked and only features one hard drive and one optical drive, I believe that a very-high-quality 500W power supply could be enough. I estimate that such system will require 350W when it is running some major gaming titles such as Crysis or Crysis Warhead. However, it is usually not the case. Usually, people will use one or more hard drives, a sound card, a wireless card, or multiple two optical drives and also overclock the system.

  • you fucking idiot urkl3, a 4870 x2 is 2 graphics card running in 1 card, if nvidia made a gx2 280 WOW radeon would be pwned

  • if a single 4870 is giving a good fight to a signle 280 why would 2 280 gtx's be any better that hd4870x2? they will be pretty much the same!

  • No, YOU are the fucking idiot.

    1. There is no chance they would be able to do a stable gtx 280 GX2, BECAUSE: It would be an oven inside your case, it would consume TOO much power since nvidia is a bunch of smartasses working still on 65nm, which was a big failure since they will be making a 55nm gtx 280..... FAIL!

For the second. A 4870 X2 single PWNS a GTX 280. So if it's 2 GPUs? Still only like 50 bucks more for 40% more performance.

Nvidia has been the king of the hill too long. Go Ati

  • k nerdtron.

  • ati nerd, ati still has lower fps dips, and shittier driver support.

    true facts. live with them.

  • @antoshahorosha hell yeah nvidias cards have awesome drivers, unlike any ati ive ever owned

  • ati hd4870 x2 single card beats gtx 280 single card cuz nvidia sucks

  • And nvidiots start bitching....

The 4870 does beat the 280gtx in some games.

The 4870 has 2.5x smaller die.

  • the 4870 runs hot, loud, and chows on power.

  • and the 280gtx doesnt

  • not as much....at all

  • LOL! funniest part that if the 280 GTX would be faster the ati fan boy's would say the same shit (its hotter its its chows power!)

Nvidia fan boys get real radeon kicked nvidia's ass this year even tho i rather nvidia i got mah hd4850

ITS FUCKING BUILT TO RUN THAT HOT !

  • dude it is HOT!!! freaking having a card running at 80 degrees is NOT good for ur computer. Even if its built to run that hot, are ur other components? can ur case handle it? just not worth it.

  • Well u can just turn the fan speed on the gpu up to 30% and its on 65c on load

    so its cool :D!

  • or buy liquid cooling sustem.

  • does it make sence buying a graphic card for $600 and u can get a ps3 and xbox 360 for far less.its understood if u are a graphic desighner but for a gamers the consoles make more sence buying.

  • Yes but you won't get nearly the same performacnce out of a console as you would a GT200 chip. Or any graphics card past 8800 for that matter.

  • dude...consoles suck ASS, especially for first person shooter. there's a reason why serious gamers choose pc's, they are far more superior. sure if u game once in a while the console is fine. but for real games, pc all the way baby.

  • No you are wrong.

  • please explain why...

  • The diffrence between a console and a PC is completely opinionated, you can't just say "consoles suck ass" becuase consoles have qualities over PC and vice versa.

  • you r half right but some people like kids and mainstreamers that just want to play games AND NOOBS cant play with pc lol, pc is for serious gamers that admire the the way that games work plus people who respect the way that games r supoused to be played.

  • seriously. my friends stupid brother opened up his computer , and jammed a 2GB corsair ram stick in the pci slot, and broke the motherboard, the ram stick, and 2 hardcore graphics cards.

  • wow, talk about the hard way!

  • srsly.

  • fucking asshole idiot.

  • ack it's not as important as the CPU! Without the GPU, you can play WoW on built in graphics, as long as you got a kickass CPU. If you don't have a CPU, guess what

    You can't do anything

    AT ALL

sorry that just annoyed me lol, and yeah that guy talking about console graphics and games being made for the 7800 is right, all games apart from maybe crysis are made so that they can run on consoles, and are later developed for PC. The reason they run on console is because they use such a good LOD ratio

  • no it won't drop in price just because the 4870x2 came out. 600+ price tag is very justifiable.

  • Are you kidding me? Every game coming out now is designed to run on the Nvidia 7800GTX or what is the equivalent of an ATI X19xx card. They're all console ports. Beyond running console ports at 200fps, what is the reason for buying this stuff? Poke developers into developing actual PC games and maybe there's a reason for it. All these games that you guys had here are multiplatform games. They'll run slightly better on this card than on the console. THAT'S IT. They don't take advantage of it.

  • 1:25.. hell yeah SWEDEN xD

  • nVidia has been bad with the drivers, I agree. but think about when the 8 series came out, it was 10% slower than the 7950 GX2, now the 8800gtx is 80% faster than the 7950 GX2 because of drivers. just wait. go ahead an add another 4850, it won't even keep up with a 9800 GX2. the 2gb 4870x2 will be the only competition in this case.

  • I ordered 2 GTX 260s and from zipzoomfly for $692 and boy are they slow at shipping. Dont order from them if you dont have patience. Order from mwave, newegg, or even tigerdirect for guys in the US.

Btw that asian chick on this video is cute. :)

Only reason I went for nvidia is cause I have an nvidia mobo whereas if I had an intel mobo I wouldve gone with ATI's offerings. I always want the best performance so 1 card is not enough for my needs, make it 2.

  • I ordered today the xfx geforce gtx 260.Got it tomorow!

  • Useless video. No technical information, just advertising.

  • get Radeon 4875 series cards. much better

  • nVidia > ATi

    just wait for the drivers.

people are already complaining and harassing the reviews when, first: they don't even HAVE this card. and two: good drivers are still pending. just be patient and nVidia will exceed.

  • is that y i can go pick up a second 4850 and rape the gtx280!!!! and have it cheaper!! still!!!!!and do u have 800sp's no u have like 200 or sumthing lol!! the 2900xtx had 320!

  • lol look bak at the 8600gt it has only 32 strem processors and it killed the hd2600xt in every game test. 200 sereies is unbeatable.retard!!!

  • doesn't matter how much streaming processors there are. ATI and nVidia uses differnet architecture for their products. look at ATi, they're already at GDDR5. nVidia is still at GDDR3 and still winning the race.

  • What memory type the companies are using does not automatically show who's the winner of the never-ending race.

I may agree a bit about ATI, since they try to aim for future goals. Unlike nVidia, they put new things on their cars (i.e. GDDR5), while nVidia puts on 1400 billion transistors on one card. I think that nVidia have some tricks up their sleeves right now, while ATI with 4870x2 doesn't have anything else. just my opinion :)

  • agreed. lol.

  • all I can say, I NEED MONEY :D

  • Cannot wait for those new drivers.

  • i want a GTX 280 but its too expansive...

  • expansion is a good thing isnt it ?

  • I don't mind waiting better than spending money on sumet 40% faster. Nehalems looking gd tho be getting a couple of those.

  • When rumors of the 9800 being 3x faster than the 8800 were floating around I doubted could do it that soon as you can only improve the archtectral so much untill your reliant on more transistors or higher clocks. I think I made a post along the lines of I will kiss Jen-Hsun Huang if they do it. I guess Jen-Hsun got scared and tried to put of over frindley customers with the 200 series.

  • IM SAVIN MY MONEY 4 d 9900s TO ARRIVE!!!!!1

    lol......seriously

  • you guys stick with your old video card and dont spend your hard making money for nothing.. son of bitches $600 bucks for a video card!!!

  • I payed £380 for the 8800 GTX that's around $760 maybe more with your inflation but I think tax is lower here and you get free medical so its not all bad.

That was november 2006 you think they'd have something a lot faster by now for that price.

  • in brazil we pay R$2.000 for a 8800GTX, arround $1.200 or £600....33% of tax

  • I'l count myself lucky then. Was that the price on release or teh current price.

  • current price

  • So was it around £2,000 on release ?

  • on release it was £400

But the current price in brazil is the same as £600!

  • you mean the price in brazil has gone up from £400 on release to £600 currently.

  • the release price in England was £400.

In brazil i dont know but i think it was something like £1000 equivalent to R$3000

  • improve drivers and stop create cards every day

  • GTX 280 only achives around 60% higher frame rates than a 8800 GTX.

I'l wait for something thats at least twice as fast.

  • DOMINIC GAY lol

  • GT200 Series: GTX 280 over GTX 260 Core Clock: 26MHz+ Shader Clock: 54MHz+ Stream Processors: 48SPs+ Memory Clock: 108MHz+ / 216MHz+ Eff. Memory Interface: 64-bit+ Memory Bandwidth: 29.8GB/s+ Memory Size: 128MB+ Raster Operators: 4+ Texture Units: 16+ Texture Fill Rate: 11.3GT/s
  • g0d damn...

last 3 weeks i bought 2 9800gx2 for sli then there it g0es the gtx 280 just appeared...

at least i g0t a quad gpu and a quad processor..

  • i would just wish that nvidia learns from ati with their price strategies, nvidia seems to dont understand that not all the people have 650 bucks to spend on their graphics card(s)

  • well, think about ati's cards, the 4870 compares to the 9800 GTX, which is imo "mid-range", compared to gtx 280. Since the gtx 280 is almost twice to 9800 GTX, i understand the price.

And hell, the gtx 280 isn't just "some card" people buy. a gtx 280 is just extreme (for today, not in 6 months). :)

  • well... actually the 4870 is having a small advantage against the 260, and is like 30 dollars cheaper now (before the price cuts from nvidia it was 100 bucks cheaper).

the only thing that is sad is that the 4870 will have to wait for the physx enhancement... but well i think both are nice brands now thanks to the falling prices in the nvidia side, this is getting hot! xD

  • Well, we are talking about 4870 vs gtx 280, not the 260 version.

and, no, i went on a research on google and looked up about performance tables of 9800 gtx, 9800 gx2, gtx 260, gtx 280 and 4870. The ATI card was in the same range as 9800 GTX, which really isn't great performance as people expect.

  • mmm i think you misunderstood the card, the 4850 is the one that reaches the performance of the 9800 gtx, but the 4870 have the same as the 260 gtx, btw i never said that the 4870 was superior to the 280, but in price for performance its a best card, or at least it was, until they lowered the price, i think everyone should be happy, thx to ati the prices are dropping really fast and the nvidia cards are as accesible as the ati ones for the first time since the 9700 times.

    cya and enjoy gaming

  • Where did you look?

    guru3d, hexus, neoseeker....nvidiatown "tweaktown".

check the review of the 4870 at techreport/tomshardware/anandtech...

The 4870 beats the 280gtx in some games.

  • Woot. Tri sli?....CAN YOU IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES?

  • lol, that sounded like the movie trailer guy.

  • In the futhur there will be

    Nvidia Geforce DXGTX2S 10000000090 Series

    Core Proccessor: 100000000000

    Max temp : 1000c

    Min Watt Require : 10000W

  • no.

  • By the time this card release , the earth is gone.

  • good call!!

  • The power of notebooks comes growing. The m17x of alienware with two 8800M GTX suprised anyone to reaching the same speed of GeForce GTX 260.

  • I'm waiting for the Bioneural Gelpacks

  • frist comment!

  • ya by 8 seconds

  • lol

  • get a life.

    nice introduction tho.

  • u get a life and stop bitchin on youtube

  • WHy????
