  • You are all so helpfull and its so much fun to make all your work for myself :) Thank you so much, greetings from germany, Marion

  • i really like this idea and i want to make one how big is yours? like 2x2..

  • You gals are awesome!

  • Thanks Jenny as soon as i saw this tutorial I had hubby go down the cellar and cut me a piece of wood and finished it immediantly. used it tonight and love it. My ironing board took up too much room and had to always be out. Great idea.

  • @craftyginny Awesome!! What a great hubby!

  • What are the measurements of the wood so that I can go and get one from the Home depot.

  • thank you! going to make one now

  • @ginbing123 You will love it! Good luck and have fun!

  • love it I wish I lived nearer

  • I want to make this but have a question: What exactly is "flooring"? Is it plywood? Is it hardwood? Do you find it at home improvement stores? THANKS!!!

  • @jmcilyar I have the same question. My husband went to homedepot and got a 2X2 ft piece of wood. It is definitely not light weight. I do not know what the wood in the video is called. But I will have to work with what i hv.

  • Thank you for sharing this! I made my own and it has chanhed my life! Well...at least my ironing experience.

  • You people are the greatest. Your tutorials are great.

  • Great idea! I always get so inspired when I watch your videos :)

  • Your right the regular ironing board does give. I like your ironing board idea better.

  • Would something like oak plywood work? Because i found some at my local hardware store, and i didnt want to buy it and have it not work! :)

  • GREAT. No excuse of why I don't have one!

  • Thanks for sharing your great ideas.

  • I like this... and I like that it is like a pillow slip so you can wash it. I used to have a portable cutting mat that was a padded ironing board when you flip it over. It was great to take with me, but it got dirty and then I didn't have a good way to clean it. This serves both purposes because if you wanted to make it portable you could put your cutting mat inside and carry it all with you. Thanks for sharing this, Jenny!

  • Jenny,

Great idea. How thick is the plywood?

    cdr1182

  • @cdr1182 It is flooring and it is 1/4 inch.

  • Jenny, you're adorable!

And you make wonderful videos! Keep them coming!

I've been watching your videos and wondering how to get or make one of those cool convenient ironing boards... but Sheesh, now I'm going to make one and then I'll never get out of my seat... if I can sew, cut and iron from the same spot! *big smile* xo Karen

  • sooo helpfullllll..thanks..

  • Hi Maria, I used a piece of thin plywood then covered it with a towel and lastly made a fabric cover for it. You can make this any size so it will easily fit your space. Thanks for watching!

  • hi im deaf i would like to make secret iron broad and pls give me info what kind of wood and inside grey cover and fabric and instruction how to make it,

    thanks

    maria

  • Thank you so much! Fabulous instructions.

    (Also, "Under-pine-ing" cracked me up.)

  • Thanks for the tip!

Darn it just went and bought one!

My ironing board is a pain and always in the way! lol!

Think I'll be making one for my space!

  • Thanks!!!

Setting up my own little sewing area in my bedroom soon and this will be perfect so I dont have to drag the ironing board up and down the stairs!! :D

  • Thank you so much for this and ALL your marvellous tutorials. I'm completely new to quilting (only made one pincushion so far!) and am thrilled to have discovered such an inspirational and enthusiastic teacher. Thank you.

  • LOVE IT!!! So (Sew) Smart!!!

  • You're hilarious.

  • Love it! Very useful and I will certainly make one for myself. I was about to go out and buy me an ironing board until I found your video.... Now, I'll make one myself. Thank you.

  • Thanks for all your videos!!!!!

  • GREAT IDEA!!!!

  • Oh can't wait to make this!!!

  • off to the hardware store I go!

  • oh boy, great idea - I'm always running to the ironing board....no more

  • Yes it is wood. it is that thin 1/8 inch board that you put down on your floor before you lay tile. I think it is called underlayment.

  • I too was going to ask how you made your board from another video of yours & just caught this looking across the videos shown. You said it is underlayment? Is it actually wood, like a veneer, or homosote board? Thanks

  • I'd add a loop from one corner to adjacent corner for carrying.

  • Thanks for the portable ironing board tip, it will be helpful when I travel to and fro.

  • Thanks for th tip ... I didnt have an ironing board and being a mom of three i counld afford one. I took your tip and made my own.. You saved me about 40 dollars...

  • Love it! I made my own and I don't know what I'd do without it! :) Thank you.

  • love it! Wondered about your ironing pad in the last video I watched.

  • i wish i lived in Missouri!! I would love your shop
