  • Great Alternative Country!

  • man he is good - lotta soul in his song and voice... :)

  • long live Kulak's!

  • I knew Jeffrey b4 bass guy of Boy Howdy. We talked about writing songs back then. Working so hard making music I couldn't get out to co-write songs with him. He then took off with the guys on Curb. Jeff got his own deal after that. I was proud of them all. Went to Kulak's to get my hug before I left for my music project in Europe. One day the video from the local cable show we shared interviews will make us both grin. Nikki Hornsby

Maybe he can ck out my YouTube song videos & leave a comment.

  • I love Jeffery... but to me this song sound defenitly like Sheryl Crow's "Leaving Las Vegas" NaNa Nah Nah Nah... Also the chords of that section. If I'll write a song that close I'll trash it. Sorry...

  • it's definitly sounds great !

  • This boy is gifted!

    Joe

  • saw him on delbert mcclinton's song--west texas blues-----good

  • it's probably a typo.. sounds great.. I do that except I leave OUT letters.. like you, instead of your.. I know it seem like you challenged in grammar..... but you not.. or your not...... you, no your just are too quick on the keyboard.. or maybe in that poor dudes case.. he kit the "S" sound(s) by accident...

southern spell check.. well I think they have their own dictionary down there, I wouldn't doubt they have their own spell check too..

    LOL!!

  • AND I just hit not kit the (k) instead of the (h)..

see, this is why I can never be a pro keyboardist.. nope... can you imagine.. I play keys faster than I type... the odds are I'd crash and burn.. unless the audience is too drunk to notice.

  • Oh, and I'm a yank btw..50% genetic from mississipi.. blame it there..but us yanks, we supposed to be good at grammar.. me not think so though...

    lol...

  • I saw Steele at the 2000, party before the Cruise at third and lindley. I was chain smoking cigars near Vince Gill andand this guy Jeff Steele comes out and sang some real kick ass song and brought down the house!First time I ever heard of Jeff Steele.

For some reason, Delbert's wife was pissed at me, she thought I was trying to pass myself off as Delbert's lawyer, when all I ever did was bring Johnny and Ann Sandlin to the Bluebird the night before!

  • I was at this gig - it's was so so great!!!! Now I'm in Nashville and hope to see Jeffrey play lot's more

  • left hand guitar~~ first saw i was born.. great ;; is it possible ?

  • Possible, yes...but probably custom-made...

!?? - most SouthPaws spend their early guitar-playin' years stringing a regular guitar left-handedly (i know my ex-fiance did...when i learned to play, i kept picking the thing up 'the southpaw way' until it was knocked out of me...just as well, i guess! = Join the Rest of the World!!!)

Don't worry, geinblues - just keep at it & surely one day, you'll get guitar-makers lining up with offers to custom-make YOU a SouthPaw Special Sponsored axe, too!

    ;)

  • I spent some time with Steele on the Delbert cruise, and he's (in my opinion) one of the best songwriters of my generation. And, his own live version of "What Hurts The Most" Buries anything those Rascal Flatts pretenders came up with.

  • You're right...but those 'pretenders' are BIG stars, with millions of fans...making Mr. Steele's songs FAMOUS - !!

    ;)

My point? 'Horses for Courses'; people respond to different things. Me - I appreciate songwriters like Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake...but most people have never even heard of 'em - but so what?...just so long as 'cream keeps rising to the top', I can live with RFs & Co selling a gazillion copies of 'What Hurts the Most' (which by the way isn't even JS's best song - go figure!!!)

  • these guys are fuckin' great!

  • I spent some time with Steele on the Delbert cruise, and he's (in my opinion) one of my generation's best, yet little known by the public, songwriters. And his own live version of "What hurts the most" is FAR better than those Rascal Flatts pretenders.
