Dude, you need to recognize what is identical and what isnt. There was a huge amount of time left on the field, they couldnt run a play becasuse FSU team memembers were all over the field including Bobbie Bowden. The time ran out because they couldnt clear the field, not even close to the jobbing Mack was doing as soon as the ball hit the turf.. Of course he had to slow down to give Dan Beebe a BJ before running over to the ref with his finger in the air.
For the record, this isn't the first time it was ruled that there was one second left after the clock ticked down to zero. In the 1994 Orange Bowl between Nebraska and Florida State, the clock ticked down to zero, everybody thought the game was over, and then the referees ruled that there was one second left allowing Nebraska to attempt a field goal to win the game.

In the normal progression of a game, when the ball is thrown OB, the clock stops ON THE SIGNAL OF THE REFEREE. There was no such signal in this case, the clock correctly continued to run and the game should have been over. Somehow, TX gets a mythical :01 put back on the clock, and BAM!! UT and the BigXII still have their title shot. It was a crock, just admit it.
the clock doesnt stop when the ref signals it stops when the ball makes contact with something out of bounds the ref only blows his whistle for the players. everyone agreed that the second was still on the clock only a few idiots on ESPN thought it was wrong and their collegues pointed out how stupid they were.

We have played Missouri, Kansas State, Iowa State, Kansas, Colorado for almost 100 years and have dominated them far more then they have beaten us. Thats why UT fans arent as fanatical, there is ALOT more going on other than football in Austin. Seriously one interception bounces off a Texas WR, another one gets ripped out of a WR's hands, and then a WR drops a would-be 75 yard TD pass. Same thing against Bama - two of Gilbert's interceptions bounced off the hands of Texas players, and yet again a TD pass is dropped.

Dude, you need to recognize what is identical and what isnt. There was a huge amount of time left on the field, they couldnt run a play becasuse FSU team memembers were all over the field including Bobbie Bowden. The time ran out because they couldnt clear the field, not even close to the jobbing Mack was doing as soon as the ball hit the turf.. Of course he had to slow down to give Dan Beebe a BJ before running over to the ref with his finger in the air.

For the record, this isn't the first time it was ruled that there was one second left after the clock ticked down to zero. In the 1994 Orange Bowl between Nebraska and Florida State, the clock ticked down to zero, everybody thought the game was over, and then the referees ruled that there was one second left allowing Nebraska to attempt a field goal to win the game.

Well, Nebraska made it back to the Big 12 title game again.
Where is big bad Texas? At home watching the game next Saturday.
Point of order: There was no egrious error with the clock; just normal progression of the game. Husker win. ESPN even agreed to that. BCS politics gave Texas that win in 2009.
Colt McCoy is doing good at Cleveland though. Suh is gone, and Nebraska still made it to the title game.

In the normal progression of a game, when the ball is thrown OB, the clock stops ON THE SIGNAL OF THE REFEREE. There was no such signal in this case, the clock correctly continued to run and the game should have been over. Somehow, TX gets a mythical :01 put back on the clock, and BAM!! UT and the BigXII still have their title shot. It was a crock, just admit it.

We have played Missouri, Kansas State, Iowa State, Kansas, Colorado for almost 100 years and have dominated them far more then they have beaten us. Nebraska will do well in the Big Ten and was in the top 5 in the nation in all time revenue and that includes bowls,merchandising and tv during the 70's, 80's and 90's winning bowls and national titles.

@SGS18TEXAS - Texas got beat in this game, I don't care what Texas fans say. Your team sucks, you've done nothing but fall in the rankings since this game, which I'm proud of, we triggered the fall of Texas. We may have struggled against SDSU but half their team was from Nebraska which made the game personal, and our team bought into the hype of the local media. Texas fans can claim they have as good a secondary as us but we don't have to pass, we'll just run it down your throat like in 94 95

@hostiledefense Not really, they live in Austin, texas, comfortably one of the best cities in america and Nebraska fans live in Lincoln-which is dull and lacks any character. Thats why UT fans arent as fanatical, there is ALOT more going on other than football in Austin. Oh and by the way I like Nebraska football-much prefer them to SEC teams, but I have been to Austin many times and it is awesome. The women there are fantastic. Lincoln? Not so much.

This will continue to piss me off every time i watch this. Ive seen game after game in college football where a quarterback throws it out of bounds and a second tics off after it hits the ground, sometimes even two or three. But no, texas had to win so the "BCS" wouldnt be all screwed up. It was a total scam. And for Mccoy to say in his interview that he knew there was one second left is a load of crap, because his face sure didnt say that at the time. Nebraska will destroy texas this year.

Seriously one interception bounces off a Texas WR, another one gets ripped out of a WR's hands, and then a WR drops a would-be 75 yard TD pass. Same thing against Bama - two of Gilbert's interceptions bounced off the hands of Texas players, and yet again a TD pass is dropped.
Texas has a very talented D returning for 2010 but their receivers really will have to step up if they want their team to be at the same level as 2009.
