My mom verbally/physically abuse me when i was young, and now i am scare that i will end up like her. :( I am in therapy and i am scare the scars and the pain is not gonna go away.
I don't know where all this compassion for abusive parents is coming from. For me the solution is quite simple, really. And it is this: Remove the child from these unhealthy surroundings, and shoot the parents. Wipe them off the face of the earth! I, regretfully, am NOT compassionate towards child abusers at all! Until we do this, we can't hope to solve this devastating problem. Think about it!
HELLO!! This song is banned because it critically questions religion. How can a just god make ten commandments, WRITTEN IN STONE, and not come up with a single one about children, other than the stupid one about children having to respect their parents, not because they deserve it, but because god says so. That's not the work of an omnipotent celestial being! It looks more like the "workings of an office temp with a bad attidude". (G.C.)
@chricla So? The USA has laws about not censoring religion or other beliefs. The very radical priest/pastor who wanted to burn the Qu'ran. People are allowed to burn the flag, fly them upside down, burn holy books-but it definitely oversteps the boundaries. But it's allowed. It's not against the law.

I love this song and i am living proof that God looks out for the children. I lived with my Mom for 18 years and I thank God for the help that he gave me .
If you are living proof, what about the kid who suffers like you can't even imagine?! Your "help" came either from people around you or from yourself. Stop favouring yourself as someone god would help, while others obviously aren't favoured. Righteous god!? God didn't make a difference. You, your mom and or others made a difference. Shame on you!
I love this song. I think it's because I can relate, but not personally. There are so many people I know...I pray everyday for the children, and for their abusive parents.
Why did they ban this song and not concreat angle? They both are about the same thing. I don't think that it should be banned. We need more songs like this.
this song realy helps me to deal with the child abuse that i endured as a child so i want to say thank you and may god bless you for postung this video.
I do like this song. Our studio does a dance to it, I think. Or this is the title of it. Now that I hear it I'm pretty sure. But even the song concrete angel makes me cry. I don't want kids to hear this. It makes me sad enough. Sure - this is a great song - don't get me wrong. But I don't want to hear about kids getting abused and beatin.
I don't understand how any radio station or tv station can ban this song. Child Abuse is our nation's shame. And by us banning this song from being played, well, we are just saying that it's okay to have child abuse. This is a serious issue and it will not be stopped by using banning songs likes this to be played.
Thank you so much for posting this. When it was originally made, CMT banned it and refused to play it, so I have never seen it. It was so neat to hear Collin Raye speak about how important an issue that Child abuse is and how we can all help.
The children are not guilty. The parents are. The children are the future. The parents should support them. How else can the world grow and prosper? A child being treated like shit will never forget that. Not even when (s)he is 80 years old. No wonder the world is as it is today.
As an abused child ( I have now moved out of the house but still) I greatly appreciate that you have posted this video! I cry every time that I hear this song, for 2 verry diffrent reasons
1) This song makes me EXTREMELY happy that people have spoken out about this VERRY SERIOUS matter!!!
and
2) This song evokes so manny long hidden memories about the past abuse that I had suffred through
I remember hearing a story about this. It said that only one radio station agreed to play it and it was only once. They feared it was too contraversial. I've always wanted to hear it. Thank you for posting it.
As a social worker who has worked with foster children for over 20 years now, I commend you on this song and video. Thank you for bringing out the plight of abused children in such a way that will mostly likely make people act to protect a child and/or help in other ways.
i love this song i had a cd with it on it the first time i ever herd it i balled my eyes out b/c i feel so bad that i have a family that loves me and would never do anything like this to me then some kids dont and i wish i could save them!

we need to work hard to stop child abuse
and when we do we should do it in memory
of the many chidren who died from abuse
so that their deaths will not be in vain
one person can do alot but if we all do
what we cam then we can move mountains
so lets do all that we can do to protect
the children before another day passes
them by.
