Sorry Zachman. After about a year I had to send mine back in also, but he fixed it at no charge and paid shipping back to me. I was only out $12 for shipping to him and an hour or so of work. Let us know what you do. Not sure if him or step motors not that reliable.

Yes you can drive vehicle without instrument panel - you just don't have speedometer or tach, or gauges. Fellow who repaired mine is shown in this video - PART 2. His user name on ebay is mandigital. His email address is digitalguy_1@charter.net. He was reasonable, quick repair and return, and honors his lifetime warranty.

Other than not having access to the information that is normally displayed (speed, fuel level, etc.) can you drive the vehicle OK with the cluster removed? I need to use the vehicle while having the cluster refurbished.

@sebefus , I was told that as long as you didnt have a diesel you can still drive the vehicle without the cluster, but that if you did have a diesel, the check engine light would come on. Just be careful, since you wont know your speed, fuel level or temp. I am sure its not recommended, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do eh?
