I think that iphone device reduce 3g signal to get a better wi-fi signal then that makes it slow, besides in fact iphone is receiving a HSDPA info it uses more ram memory

instead of ipod touch which is focused just in receive wi-fi signal, therefore, the left ram memory, which is a lot cause there isn't any app running, can finish of constructing the page faster...

Its true that 3g is fast and you propably wont see the difference in normal use but the phone network is a long way from 8mb/s and up. And here in Finland (best country IMO ;P) 3g sucks. I live in a pretty big town on Finland's scale, about a mile from the town centre, and we dont have 3g. Well we do since my dad figured out that the antenna is in the bottom of the iphone so we have 3g if we hold it from the top XD

well this depends on the persons internet connection, most people don't have 8MB/s download speeds and wifi is then slower, but 3G is 7.2mb/s and 4G is even higher. That's why there is an iphone coming out called iPhone 4G, it's to accommodate with the 4G which will be pretty fast comparing with WiFi. WiFi is faster right now and i think it probably will always be if someone had 100mb/s that is, but it's different if someone doesn't have 8mb/s internet connection speed

I guess you are right on that one. But reality is different since the 3g speed isnt the same in every country. Here in Finland its top speed is 3.6mb/s and that costs as much as my 8mb/s cable..... But I think that its good to have both. Wi-fi at home (more speed and less battery usage) and 3g where it is possible. Edge isnt as slow as many would think which is a good thing since 3g isnt very common here :(

The connection capability is faster in Wifi i mean, but yeah i guess. Idk about your area but 3G in Canada, and in USA is pretty strong and we're doing ok for now even though the economy is in shit. Having both is good since phone 3G usage costs money, and btw EDGE is actually very slow compared. It can maybe load pages for the internet safari and even then it is still very slow. Downloading isn't even an option with EDGE.
