  • when ur not home im going to come and use ur turntable for scratching practice just to piss u off.

  • The new hifi is orered and will be here and installed in the next 4 to 6 weeks :) Will make you all a video then :p Maybe even try to make an instalation video of it being set up :) Thanks again for all your kind words about the last system and many happy a time with your systems :)

  • Get a real turntable next time such as a Linn Sondek-although they're not as interesting to watch whilst rotating,or a well tempered deck.Good luck.

  • @chickitakoowan Hi there, when i was a kid we had all of them, my father had the LP12, my mother was frightened of it so shehad the Axis, and my frst ever turntabld was the Linn Basik with a K18 cartridge :) I know what you mean about that turntable but i love the wormth i get with the Orb, over the perfection you get with the LP12 :)

  • @romaning2004 Fair comment, but if you haven't already -try the well tempered turntable,I think pear audio sell them. I've heard this turntable playing through dynavector pre/power into shahinian arc speakers (actually all these sold by pear audio) This set up sounded incredible when listened to in an ordinary front room with no special acoustic treatments etc.Cheers :-^)

  • i used in my Michell Orbe turntable the Brazilian Audio Engine vacuum tube phono stage model PS-IV the sound quality was incredible i can hear in hi definition the vinyl sound

  • nice system, and you surely like your music, with lots of records and cds.

music allways comes first, thats how i see it, and then a system that will

play the music as it was recorded

  • That deck and cartridge warrants a better phono stage. A much better phono stage, the Dino is OK for something like a Rega P3 but it's the analogue bottleneck in your system.

  • It all *looks* wonderful

You obviously get a great deal of satisfaction from your music, its a shame the room is so unsuited to good reproduction

You seem to have spent a lot of time and money on your "system", yet you have spent nothing on acoustic treatments

Have you checked out the room's modes ?

The standing waves must be a thing to behold ;-)

If you stand in the middle of the room is there less bass than in the corners ? (I'm betting there is *bigtime*

    HTH

    Peace ...

  • Sounds like he's singing in the room hehe

  • Very, very sweet sounding system mate, the vocals on it sound so lifelike and warm!My brother like yourself has reminded me how vinyl is so relaxing and rich in comparison to CD and that's coming from someonewho listens entirely to CD now on a Marantz based front end CD system

  • Remember kids, never say no to Panda.

  • Thanks so much everyone for the really nice comments. I will be compleatly rebuilding the system in the next few months and will make you a new video in HD of the system ^.^

  • @romaning2004 simply great. thanks man!!!!

  • I would love to spend a few days getting stoned and going through your record collection, can i come to your house for my holidays please?

  • I can really sense big deal of sound quality. Thank you for posting that. I am also so much in music. I consider myself as an average audiophile since recently I got into LP records.

  • I'm sure it's truly amasing, but there's really no point in providing a "demo", as the level of compression it'll take in the posting process will NEVER do it justice. The fact that you have records means you're a winner in my books either way!

  • I bet you proud with your system, and all those CDs and LPs .. Good for you Dude, it is a nice hobby, enjoy your music!!!!

  • I bet the setup of an Benchmark DAC1, Audio research VT 100 Mk2 100 wpc amp and a pair of Magneplanar Tympani 1-d speakers for about 4k would blow this one out of the water. YoU have to spend in order of 50k+ to get something similar in SQ. Audio nirvana.

  • Some people may not understand this guys passion but hey we all like stuff - i am a guitarist and would happily spend 15 grand on a guitar rig if i had the money - each to his own - hope your house is detached dude so you can crank it without pissing off the neighbours.

  • nice set up dude, well done!

  • is just me or does he sound like a really nice guy and a nice system to. loads of my friends use proac and they tend to use dmn cables!!..

  • Hey Check my System out on YOUTUBE

  • some burglars might visit you ... lol

  • @69points we all can be robbed, does it mean we shouldn't have things we want?

  • @69points by the way, I want to tell you that Plasma TV or computer is more likely to be stolen than entire Stereo System.

  • you'd be far better off with an accoustic solutions amp, alba cd player and

    goodmans speakers.

  • Great looking system. I"m sure you're loving it. My only question is (and apologies if you've already answered it) do you have it backed up against the heating unit to show on the vid, or is it permanently there? Wouldn't the heat affect the gear, and particularly the vinyl that you're playing?

  • Why 240p ??? :O

  • Why would you want that rack of rattly CD cases right by your right hand speaker which I have to say is, like the left one, very badly positioned.

  • Do don´t know Itunes right?

  • you said it man!

vinyl is indeed the way to go!!!!!! :D

  • I like Jell-o!!!!!!

  • Enjoyable video of your hi fi system, thanks for sharing!

    Dave

  • what a pity to have £15'000 Audiophile Hifi

    and £15 videocamera...

  • @angelb650650 So? Even if he filmed this with 10k camera, you still would hear the sound trough your crappy onboard soundcard and cheap computer speakers or headphones that cant reproduce 10% of what his system can.

  • @derbigpr500, I mean at least normal vga quality video.

and... don't bet what system i have. ;)

  • @derbigpr500, The best systems sound second rate in a room with no acoustic treatment ;-)

Fact is, few hundred pounds spent on bass traps and absorbers @ the primary reflection points would improve the sound (by taming the room's acoustics) far more than a boutique amplifier or "designer cables" at £1000 a pop

His system is limited to the maximum resolution of a CD (44.1/16bit) many computers can reproduce accurately 192Khz/24 bit

The thing is, can human ears hear the difference ? ;-)

  • @bluesman979 I can hear difference between my 16bit and 24bit recording. Many albums rip that i have in both 16 bit and 24 bit sound clearer than in 16 bit.

  • @derbigpr500

Of course the quality of the recording would be source dependant -ripping to 16 or 24 bit from a CD should make no difference at all, they *should* sound identical

This is because the original recordings have already been mastered down to 44.1/16 bit (or to fit inside even less headroom in the case of vinyl ;-) ) in the production process

    HTH ;-)

  • MMM, just had a delicious steak for dinner with mushroom sauce and scolloped potatos, amazing....

  • Very nice collection.. Lou was a good choice, did I detect a tempo change while it was playing though?

  • wow good sound ,i got a michell but not as good as orbe ,by the way how much LP you got ?

  • only a true hifi enthusiast would listen to music like this...keep it up...crackin song choice...

  • why do people argue about how a system sounds when all they're hearing is a vague approximation as filtered through a cheap camcorder microphone? you can get an idea, but that's about it.

  • @cootaloot ....And that IS the idea!

  • whos that bird in the corner

  • Sub 10" drive units aren't hi-fi.

  • My god?!?!!?! How did you get that GOD of a system

  • Complimenti!!!!

  • I like the way you demonstrate your system by letting the disc run - but to be honest it sounds no better than the cheap Wharfedale Diamond III bookshelf speakers I'm listening to this clip through.

  • a quick cheeky tweaky for ya......get some plumbing pipe insulation and cut it up into two inch long bits and put your speaker cable through it too raise it off of the floor to isolate it......to buy the proper floor insulators will cost you obscene amount of money and this cheeky tweaky is just as good at a fraction of the price

  • @SMERGHEED i dont think he is one for money saving tweaks, with a £15000 set up!

  • @jontykint LOL!....check out my system its a bit more than this one and mine has loads of cheeky tweakys......my Dad patents hi-fi for a living and writes reviews for HI-FI CRITIC so hence he knows alot of people in the trade and these cheap tweaks are from people in the know........not everything needs to cost the earth

  • mate just put an RB 350 tone arm on as they are about as good as the old sme 3009 tone arm and then upgrade the tone arm wiring to russ andrews cable, you will love the improvement also try russ andrews power cable to the record player aswell...any tips you want just give a email on my channel,If I dont know the ansewer its not worth knowing....try reading hi-fi critic..its none bias as they dont do adds and I know the people that write it..its not sold in shops so just google how to order it

  • Nice collection

  • Two words SYNERGY and QUALITY . Very very nice system.

To get a great result SYNERGY is an invisible key component. Magic the end result, you know when you can leave the space you are in and totally absorb the musical message.

The little clowns who post videos of very high SPL miss the music, listen to noise. The poor souls they do not know better.

  • I think that hi fi is making u go cross eyed. 0.o

  • You should lift your cables off the floor. I don't think it does much if anything, but it's "the thing" to do. Supposed to help with capacitance. Gives your rig a more finished appearance too.

  • verry slow man

  • looks pretty sweet man, but where's the earth shattering bass?

  • Buddy holly any one. :))))))) nice setup son

  • Beautiful system :) All to be jelous of. Whats the frequency range just out of curiosity?

  • When I get a job I hope to have a system like this! and a dedicated room for it!

Right now, I'm running a PC setup, Teralink X2 USB to SPDIF to Bel Canto DAC2 to Audio Gd C2-C headphone amp to AKG K701 and HD650's. It is very good, but not amazing like this setup.

  • 6:22 now that's a good song! Nice hi-fi.

  • For an audiophile, you should check your audio and video syncing before you post to youtube....

  • Ive spent this sort of money on my 5.2 cinema but i wish i could have a system like this for music too in a seperate room. Even at this price level you compromise for music on top notch AV equipment. My system sounds very big and dynamic for music but cant match a good equal value 2 channel hi fi like this. Then again after watching Avatar on blu ray the other night i dont really care lol. Check it out on here under Justins home cinema computer 01

  • maybe you should show us the actual system and not your cd's

bad positioning with your speakers buddy the glass window behind them will make them sound like a $50 system

  • well im only 14....but i do know that kids love blasting their music, i do, but i mostly care about clearity, all my fiends say whyd u blow $ 300 on that sub.....whats a turntable.....amplifier? speak english, but for those who dont care how it sounds, go to target and get a $50 peice of sht, for those who do, we spend hundreds and thousands

  • @rcpro88 But you spent $300. LOL

  • @calvinblinkee lol, i have 2 pairs of classic tannoys, and tannoy sub and idk y i bought some 200 buck stands for each but it did, and no one truly notices a difference between cable or wire, so i spend 10 bucks on electrical wire for a house, 12 gauge...and then i have 2 pyle pro 800 watt active dj speakers, and a jbl sub...im all good

  • and here i am in a closet with my cmoy and denon d2000s...

  • man that speaker cable looks like the goods aiy.

  • it sound ok and that but it looks like a pile of old junk for 15,000 you at least want it to look good aswell as sound good

  • @pppaullll Analog Hi Fi is for listening to music.... not for looking at.

  • @angelodagnolo Like i said in my comment for this price it should look better

  • @pppaullll Your missing the point. High End Systems are not designed to look good, they designed with one purpose in mind, music. You just learn to live with the looks. Have you ever listened to a Linn LP12 or similar?

    You have to experience it.

  • @angelodagnolo stay clear of linn and naim

  • @wot2wot2 LINN why? I know they are over priced but they do a good job with music. I only have a Axis but it still kills my CD player. I must say that the Systemdeck sounds better to me as I own both. But wouldnt part with either.

  • @wot2wot2 if you flick the platter of an l.p. 12 it rings like a bell adding to the 'linn ' sound. linn and naim have never been noted for their neutrality and truthfulness. even the old pink triangle was a much better turntable of its time. and yes, for a domestic company are way overpriced , michel turntables are wonderful and of course clearaudio and much better value for money

  • Great video and gear ! I too am a fan of Turntables and records ( and valve amplifiers, both home hi-fi and guitar ). Regards.

  • 15k and you still have to get up and change songs manually? I don't know if I like that ;)

  • think of a network player. keep yout LPS but you could nevertheless try to digitilize them.. just in case you know?

  • Badly spent 15K

OMG, get a ScanSpeak or Seas system from Madisound, proper solid state amp, proper CD player and off you go.

    What a waste of cash

  • what is the make of your speakers

  • Very nice system and LP collection.

With LP's you get the organic sound the CD can hardly duplicate. here again the all important DAC plays a critical role, a good DAC will run $3000 up and something serious $5K up. just for the DAC.

  • Seems like it's very very nice in real life!

  • whos that bird in the corner.

thats a nice bit a kit though.

  • Nice gear, feel a bit sorry for 'gordonf355' maybe when he grows up and gets some taste and maybe an education he too will get it

  • Very impressive system . Thanks for sharing

  • Lou Reed's Transformer is one the best albums ever. Nice bit of vinyl to slip onto the platter, mate.

    Nice kit, too.

  • wow thats great! and nice song!

  • I do..... yeah, there was a lot of ummmm, filler "talk" at the beginning, but this old stuff has a lot of value.... you'll understand in another 20 years...

  • ur mama

  • Umm...people who actually know good music when they hear it.

  • Comment removed

  • leave some little space at least form speakers backwall

  • skip from over the 8 minute mark back to 06:15. Is the slow start part of the recording etc?

If not it needs a moment to get up to speed by the sound of it, either that or a new belt etc?

That said, jobs a good un, nice one.

  • Mate, you've got a freakin awesome set up there and despite your west country bumpkin tones, glad you chose to speak too... BUT.. I think we all know what DVD's and records look like !?!?..

just talk us through the stereo and maybe buy some new freakin' ornaments / curtains out of your £15k next time!

  • nearly as good as my B&W 600's i bought for £50

  • sounds great even on the video, on the real room, that would be amazing, great, Iam new on the audiphiles... I have a lot quesions.

  • Excellent!

  • wyjmij podkoszulek ze spodni :/

  • your record is playing slow or something, might wanna check that out.

  • stop tucking your t-shirt into your pants, saddo.

  • Hey romaning, i like your audio-show and you seem to be a likable person. Thumbs up.

  • Lovely system. Had you just started the orb? It sounds like i picked up pitch and speed throughout the playback. I so wanted one of these, but I setteled for my price range. a Planar 3 with motor upgrade and rb300 arm. Can you give a run down of all your components pelase including speakers. Thanks

  • To everyone who has and is about to post a "really funny" comment, probably not worth your while. This video and it's contents are way beyond your understanding and comprehension. You may as well go to your mini system with lots of flashing lights, bass boost and an output of ooooooh let's take a guess at 10000000000 Watts! (well thats what it says on the sticker!) and leave us to enjoy this as opposed to being interupted by having to constantly hit the spam button

  • @producerben LOL..great comment lol. Really liked the Gazillion watt thing lol.

  • @producerben can i ask what the advantages are of a component cd player over lossless cd ripped to a computer? (When connected to a quality soundcard of course)

  • @producerben I'm going to say something funny because my hi-fi is easily in the league of this, probably better....Q.what has producerben and monty python got in common? A. they both dont like spam...lol!

If you want to take the doorstep challenge go to my channel and check out my ATC SCM 20's and if you like I will gladly do you a vid of my hi-fi to show I'm not bullsh@tting also my dj eqipment is better quality than the average hi-fi and there is more tweeks than you could poke a stick at

  • @producerben Bow to the HI FI God!!! Your not only arrogant but presumptuous..

  • @producerben THATS DEFINITELY THE TRUTH

this sounds superb....even on my monitors off youtube

obviously a man who loves music enough to spend time on quality rather than the current digital quantity ipoo

    bullcrap

  • Sounds nice and open. Just getting into the good hi fi stuff myself and what I notice is that you don't only enjoy the music more but also the sound the hardware makes if that makes sense at all.

  • Hello again Romaning2004 can I invite you to listen to my stereo? It's on Youtube thought the quality of recording is not very good. Let em know what you think dude.

  • What's your address?

  • @richiebel do you really think that he is that stupid to post his address over the internet so let everyone else see it? But you are joking, aren't you? Then sorry.

  • Nice sounding microphone.

  • nice system! BTW I love your red bull shirt!

  • Comment removed

  • 15000 punds is like 30000 australian dollars, omg that is nuts, very impressive but i never understood the fascination with audio....and why is vinyl better for music? isnt the quality better on cd

  • vinyl is better because a CD has 700mb of information and vinyl has unlimited information because the music is stored in an analog way. this sounds more natural, especially on such a good system. the better the system the bigger the difference between different audio sources such as CD and Vinyl

  • well said i couldent av put it better my self.

i love my audio set up how ever i run my comp through amp graphic and 2 pairs of speakers (kef refrence model 1,s) and tannoy e11,s. enjoy the sounds all

  • Neither is "better". It is entirely dependent on listener preference.

  • £15,000? OUCH!!!

  • soundin good man.

  • what interconnects and speaker cable ?

  • that bass line sounds a lit slugish throug the orbe sounds more uptempo through my set up,good vidio mate cheers

  • at least play something exciting through the damn system and bring it to life!! and rip out your CD player, they're dynamically useless thanks to the mastering these days. (see Loudness Wars on wikipedia).

  • valve amps ?

  • wow theres a lot of electrical stuff here. do you have enough sockets in that room if not im an electrician.

  • Nice Set up!! Love the Room. Do you do cassettes at all?

  • great set up mate. no offence check out my video with my valve amp. no transistors for me. i like linear sound. but the vinyl side is awesome.

  • I agree, vinyl is away to go with music.

  • Nice system.

  • hey dude.envey you loveyour lps.also a collector

  • beutifull !congratulations!

    thank`s for post !

    earl klugh-wishiful thinking next please!

    dj dinky

  • Hi Fi is a wonderful (but expensive) hobby. I've been into it since the early 70's. I also love vinyl, when it is done right.

  • Obviously it defeats the whole point of a Hi-Fi by playing it over the computer. But, for your next investment, I recomend checking out some vintage stuff. Try Leak TL12 (not the TL12 +) power amp. All the other Leaks are no where as good. Ortofon pickups are good (The SPU series from the 50s). 50's Macintosh equipment is also very very good. It's only my preferance that I prefer 50's equipment, I am not saying I am correct with it tho! Every one's ears are different.

  • I dig the comment at 6:00

  • 4 channel dynaco A25s woudleve been cheaper, might of needed a bigger room but it woudleve sounded better then that thing. haha anyway "you cant transmit good sound on the camcorder " funny statement you would be better of explaining it rather then playing this cheezeball music

  • There is no way to transmit sound quality through a camcorder

  • All I can say is - you have A LOT of music. Make sure you always lock your doors - the burglars will have a field day otherwise

  • Sell a few records and buy a digi flip mino.

  • Exceptional setup mate... Enjoy your stuff!! I suggest you, your next purchase to be some nice sound panels for the rear and side walls!!

  • Ohh, when i get the new tv, it will be going into the bedroom well away from the hifi hehehe ^.^

  • Nice video and great collection!

  • Thanks mate ^.^ now saving for a new tv, Want the Samsung LED 9000 40 inch when it comes out in September, so will have to wait and see what the reviewers say about it ^.^

  • Very impressive system, really wish I could here it in person. Must say, the video does nothing for it, ha. But still even through the lousy youtube quality, you can tell the realism is unparalleled.

Samsung makes a great tv. When comparing it to just about every other make out there, it consistantly came out on top. Really happy with my Samsung Plasma. I can't imagine what the LED 9000 must look like.

I'd like to here your opinion on it if you ended up buying it.

  • Did you sell your hair to buy it?

  • lol, nope ^.^ been fulling out since i was 18, the girls use to love my bald spot hehehe ^.^

  • Really very nice chap, congrats. I really like the way you have a valve amp specifically for classical music you must have good ears and agree with you about vinyl. Thanks for sharing.

  • Nice setup. Thanks for taking the time and effort for sharing this with us.

  • Thanks so much for your kind words, must appreciate it ^.^

  • If you don't appreciate his video, then don't bloody watch it. No one forced you to do so. If someone has a passion for something, along with the money needed for it then who the hell are you to tell them how to or not to spend their money?! Get a life. The only "phool" here is you. Wanker!

  • dude you gotta chill. This is awsome. We need more of these vids on youtube.

  • Great system you've got there mate. I'd like to ask , where did you get the wooden vinyl album racks , especially the floor one . I'd love one like that .. any links and prices ??

  • i would like to know too, I doesnt look like ikea.

  • Friends don't let friends drive drunk, buy vinyl and tube amplifiers.

  • i thought you were suppose to highlight your vinyl playing turntable but instead you gave us the difference between analogue and digital sound.anyway i salute you for having a superb front end and an impressive vinyl record collection.

  • The System is great, but the music is boring....

  • Bull ! The music he played was great

  • Great collection and excellent System

  • who is the singer end song please

  • one hell of a collection lolzz..i would wire my tv up to them though..

  • he clrearly does by having all this money

  • He clearly does - to get all those records, and earn all that money. Besides, this is better than any nightclub sound system will ever be lol

  • all that money is worthless if you dont have a good acoustical space

  • cool dude nice setup trying to put me one up here looking for a good turntable have speakers infinity 3009 and a sanui AU-G77XII amp thanking of geting me a phase linear 700B or 400 but i need more vynl i have over 200 cd's seya dude

  • very nice , what do you think about Denon pma 700

  • I own 2 respectable Turntables, 1 english and the other german, with a decent phono, but i have to say My trivista 21 dac does it all, properly set up, very hard 2 beat.

  • yes, I've head the trivista is good. I've never listened to it though.
