Fuck you WMG, you greedy ass mother fuckers.......put this in the description and they cant disable it. "Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."
Getting a million dollar contract from the US Military to rescue injured soldiers in battle because of the remote control feature is not exactly "stupid."
ummm. NO, why risk the life of a real soldier when you can make it controled by a computer operator away from the battlefield? You have no loss of control, its a great idea.
Why to use it in military? This could be used in civilian purpose and it's much better when a man is driving. It's more secure. Think why airlplanes have pilots, buses drivers, trains drivers. All that can be remote controled, but man can react in any kind of situation, he can repair the machine if something is wrong, and how are you going to do that with remote control?
In a way, this will be controled by a real human in practically the same way as a real person would. The driver is actually using a wheel and pedels, and has three tv's surrounding him so it looks exactly like hes driving it. If there is some kind of failure, it can be repaired by a person in a transport, becuuse this vehicle is made to be a part of a transpor, not go alone.
No man you don't understand me. You drive that thing by remote control to one place that is 100km away from you. Suddenly electric cabel gets in fire and burns on 80km away from you. So you have to go to the Ripsaw and fix it. If theres a driver on board he would fix it in a moment and you wouldn't have to travel 80km to fix some small cabel. Driver can see every corner where he is driving, by camera you can't see that much so steering is much more precise.
Yes, you have a very valid point, if this were a battle tank, it would be horrible to be remote controlled, but it is a transport vehicle, meaning it supplies firepower and what not to a transport of vehicles. So if it breaks down, it will have people to fix it, and if its too dangerous, this thing is so cheap they can just leave it there, and possibly come back later when there isnt any danger. But many problems could probably be diverted by the onboard computers whic feed loads of information.
In the next 50 years you will see large increase in unmanned military vehicles. UAVs like the Predator and Reaper drone are already in heavy use in Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. As long as guys are controlling them, you don't have anything to worry about.
they built it as a protype for the army as a remote control. not sure if the one that i have seen that they sit in and drive was before this one or after it
must not be that cold
