  • They are both so cute!

  • Marty's father was in Raging Bull in that scene when deNiro knocked a guy out

  • I love his parents

  • I would rather watch this than the Jersey Shore

  • Can anyone please tell me what exactly is that thing at 00:12? I've seen this light in other documentaries too, but I never knew what exactly it is.

Great documentary by one of the greatest directors alive.

  • Who could possibly dislike this?

  • Catherine Scorsese, God bless her. But help me out here those of you who know your way around the kitchen. Sugar in something we never put into a gravy-- gravy being a beef/pork/veal/sausage tomato sauce. What's the sugar for? Is it to cut acidity? Ma taught me if the tomatoes are too acidic, put in some home-made red wine. Is sugar a Sicilian thing?

  • plastic seat covers. that's ITALIAN

  • @karmastar06

So true. All these years later, I still get up slowly from my mom's sofa in the summer when I'm wearing shorts, even though the plastic is long gone.

  • lolololol

  • This is bee-yootiful.

  • thank you SO much for posting this

  • "They say as you get older your love grows stronger, right, Daddy? He's bashful" I just adore Catherine Scorsese. Rest In Peace, Mama.

  • Ha ha, she reminds me of my mum, ha ha, though my father is far from jovial or good humoured like Mr Scorsese's father. Picture of the cow, ha ha. Classic, if you are not Italian then you won't understand the humour behind this. And I mean, if you are not Italian, you won't understand this, even if you find it funny.

  • Anyhow... The man has been surrounded by storytellers... Who have a beautiful poetry to their speech.

  • Whose music is that beginning at 2.10 ? I like it very much ! Who can tell it to me ?

Di chi è il brano musicale ( mi sembra una mazurka, se non sbaglio ) che inizia al 2.10 ? Mi piace infinitamente ! Chi me lo può dire, per favore ?

  • @GiovanniDamasceno hai trovato??

    what a wacky trio...

KING OF COMEDY: Maaaa!!! Will you please be quiet."

TAXI DRIVER: "Women. They're like a union."

RAGING BULL: "Did you fuck my wife?"

GOODFELLAS: "I gotta come home... to this?!!!!"

    CASINO: "Can I trust you?"

Paranio...pyschosis...guilt...anger........ the Scorsese family... WELCOMES YOU.

  • 6:39 - "Shut up, your always talking..."

  • His Father says "see" in between sentences too...

  • This is great. Thanks for the effort to share this great stuff. As a Bronx native and scorcese fan, I always liked the Italian -American roots he drew from for his films.

  • These two are exactly like my grandparents

  • Ha. All my relatives had plastic covers on the furniture !

  • What's the song in the intro?

  • Scorsese's parents are joookes! hahahahaha, so many classic lines, you can see where he got his ear for good dialogue listenin to these two

  • I love this lady

  • omg! I have been looking everywhere for this. I have the catherine scorsese cookbook (hard to find too) and they mention this. Thank You!

  • me imagino que son personajes de una pelicula, que son los padres de un importante ganster italiano

  • Oh God, thank you for this!

  • What he was saying at 7:25 is pretty funny when you consider he was doing the cooking in Goodfellas. I wonder if MS did that as an in-joke.

  • Plastic on the furniture! Classic

  • Thanks for posting this. Amazing.

  • She was great in Casino and Goodfellas. I liked her face in Casino when her son kept cursing.

  • Me too! She was a natural.

  • @jackofclubz Absolutely. Also look out for her in 'The Godfather: Part III' (1990). Catherine Scorsese and Ida Bernardini plays two elderly women who ask Vincent Mancini (Andy Garcia) to rid the neighbourhood of Joey Zasa (Joe Mantegna). Great scene.

  • Is it just me or does it seem like she didn't change one bit between this film and her cameo in Casino? ;)

  • To say I love this film is an understatement. Thanks for posting this. I could watch it weekly and never get tired of it.

  • some of the scenes in this documentary were included in the departed's special feature i think..
