  • Very clever!

  • you'll need exactly ONE year to climb 20 meters :p

  • @ruezerueze Good enough reason to carry a second prussik.

  • @mikebarter387

    indead :p

    or a petzl tibloc..

i like the tibloc very much! :p

i allways cary two with me while climbing

  • If you watch tree climbers, ones with ropes, there is a better way to ascend the rope with your feet that is much faster to use and to slide your feet up.

  • @danballarin that is not the point of this video. Give that same tree climber the gear terry is using and he will not be climbing anything. There are dozens of better ways but tis is the only way I know of with "one Prussik" and nothing else.

  • this wont work if you don't have a solid object (like a wall) near you to support yourself

  • @CDFfilms This will work anywhere. You simply stand up in the foot hitch and use the Prussik for progress capture.

  • this dude totally sucks at climbing the techniques we used in the army were so much more effective every time he brings his foot up he has to adjust his rope if you just tie it off nice and neat there's no need to adjust every time you bring your foot up

  • Twice i've been attacked by aliens, very useful advice!

  • nice idea! thx

  • good application of knot.

  • Interesting - never seen that one before - thanx :)

  • That's a smart technique, I haven't seen that one before.

  • like you said, might not be used much. but nice to know if a situation like that arises. and i'm curious about the animal too. what is it?

  • I'm not sure I'd ever want to find myself in a sitaution where I had to do that, but it's good to know it can be done. What animal makes that noise in the background?

  • monkeys and cocka tooes

  • Hey mike, thank you for the nice videos you produce.

I was wondering if this tecnique has a wearing affect on the rope. I realize that the main purpose of this maybe to get out of tricky situations where you basicly don't care about how you affect the rope. The question is as following: Can i use this tecnique on a rope over and over again without having to worry about damaging it? Hope you got time for a reply and that i don't scare you of with my crapy english.
