@MrGustavAdolph Sí, lo mismo (...pero, pienso que Sophie tiene el cabello marrón- dice que en el libro, ¿no?) Odio las peliculas que no tienen las detalles exactos. ¡Muy irritante!
The film looks awful... this has been my favourite book since I was eight, and it looks like they've ruined it. I won't be getting this then! Where's Plato and Socrates? And why is Hermes not a labrador?
Thanks for uploading the trailer- otherwise I would have bought it and been bitterly disappointed.
The book is great, but still hard to read.. I am not sure if about if it was a good idea to make a movie out of it though, some books do better as just books than adaptions to movies..
@IndustrialMuffin The whole concept behind Sofies Verden is the philosophy. If you don't like it, there really isn't much point in reading the book, because the plot in general is, just like the lessons, also based upon philosophy. It's almost to pinpoint that not all of it takes place in old Greek men's brains... ^^
based on this trailor i suppose the story is refined a little bit? nevertheless i hv never imagined that this could be put onto the big screen!!! due to its textbook-like nature. wow!!
the movie is norwegian , made in norway , and we have seen it in school , the movie is not so fun that is looks like. its kinda boring if you dont like history i guess :-) (sorry for my bad english , i'm from norway)
does anyone know the name of the theme song for the mini series? it's like a classical/ opera song that they play in every episode. btw, think the name is silje storstein
There are a number of different versions or "cuts" of the movie. The most widely seen are a 80 minute movie cut and a 2 hour tv movie version. The shorter the version the less philosophy there is and more general history. I have been told about but have not seen a 6 hour mini series version which is much more faithful to the book.
the book is HARD to read. get to the philosophy part and it gets dead boring. it's a good book, but hard to read. it's like with all Jostein Gaarder's books
I saw this movie in Japan in 2002, it was in 5 languages and had Japanese subtitles. I left the resturant early because I had seen it advertised on tv, and knew I wanetd to see it, I left early to watch it. Have never foirget it sicne and spent years trying to figure out what it was caleld!
The movie was made by a TV company, the show version is an extended version of the same footage, this was shown dubbed in Australia, as far as I know that version has never been released on home video.
Aww, no, is this the movie? I thought it was a TV-series... In that case, this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The acting was exceptionally bad, even for the experienced norwegian actors that was in it. The only good actor in the movie was the swedish guy who played Alberto Knox. Maybe I need to give it a second chance and see it in its entirety, but from what I've seen now, it's not good.
Read the book first, if you haven't. So much better than this.
I have seen that movie a long time ago.. Im reading the book right now :) Im coming from Norway myself. =) Gaarder is one of the best authors i know. I have already ordered the movie =)
It depends on what you're looking for in the movie, to judge if the book or movie is better! It's called "Sophie's World" in English, "Sofies Welt" in German & "Sofies Verden" in Norwegian, it's original language.
i think the movie looks really awful compared to the book. half these things did not happen in the book, and the professor looks nothing like how he was explained in the book.
Oh god, that movie. They screened it as a mini-series here in Australia - COMPLETELY butchered the book. Stupid thing. It's about PHILOSOPHY, not HISTORY!
i agree - it's about philosophy not history. i haven't seen the film myself, and it may be good, but from what iv heard it is a poor adaptation of the book
Im norwegian =) ive seen the movie once.. long long time ago. If you want a translation you can just ask me =)This movie is very good, though extremly hard to find...
I would love to watch the movie to,because it seems to be a lot different from the book,do you know where I can downlodat it from,or just watch it online?
i totally agree. they really misrepresent what the book's about. i guess it's all about money these days and them portraying it as a more action-based film brings in the ticket sales.
Hey I have to do my summer assignment on this book its an intresting book and I finished reading it but I have to answer questions and I know this isnt the place to ask but anyone have any Idea what is the symbolism is of Sophie standing and looking down the path on pg 15?? anyone?
why is the narration of this trailer and some of the dialogue in english, but then some parts of the dialogue in Norwegian, and then the caption in spanish or something?
This is the international trailer, it is standard practice on international trailers for all the narration/text to be in english but the film in what ever language the film was shot in. The spanish subtitles were burned in by my source for the trailer, I have no way to remove them. Hope that clears things up for people.
