Sorry but it's actual fact. Let me see, the zune supports MP3, AAC, and WMA. Kind of limiting don't you think? For video it only supports WMV, H.264 and MPEG-4. Very few formats indeed. It also doesn't have a user eq, so adjusting the sound quality to personal preference is out of the question. Now the screen of the zune might be bigger than an ipod, but the resolution is exactly the same. Overall a mediocre device at best, considering it sells at a premium price. Brainless indeed huh?
You're a troll. Actually, I have an iPod and Zune. My Zune plays every format of video that my iPod plays, and then some (with the exception of iTunes Store-bought full-lenght feature DRM movies). My iPod however will never play all of the extension types that my Zune will play. I like my Zune a lot better.
Oh, and as for MP3, I downloaded an album off of the Internet and I had to convert the songs for iTunes but Zune handled them perfectly. Never had a problem adding and playing any SONG in Zune that would already play in iTunes. So, you see, your logic on your one alibi is flawed. But it's just as the guy below me (kungpow108) says, who cares about the format, just convert them to what it will play. It's just another example attesting to the fact that Apple products are for elementary minds.

And Im not sure what you were talking about, saying that an mp3 album had to be converted in order to put it in your iPod, because that format is already supported. You can believe what you want and I thought that iTunes handled all MP3 files too (never had a problem before) but I swear my computer recognizes those tracks as MP3 (In the windows pane and even when I check properties) but iTunes was giving me attitude when I tried to add them (you know where you try to add a file and it acts like it's ignoring you by not adding it - truth is, I kind of hate Apple with a burning firey-passion!). So then i converted it to .mp4 and it added. The end.
I wish Zunes were made earlier so the iPod wouldn't dominate the MP3-player market. Zunes are so much better it's not even funny. I won't go into details here, but I bet I'm not the only one who knows why Zunes pwn iPods and can back it up with facts.
I had a zune, got an itouch just to see what its like. The itouch is cumbersome, but has loads more features. Being a programmer, I can make apps for my itouch whilst the zune doesnt have that at all by the look of it. The zune looks outdated and seems to mirror the failure of windows 7.
even though the zune wasnt made to compete against the itouch, it still beats it. why? because an itouch is a waste of money. if you really wwant it that bad, just get an iphone. a 32g itouch is like 400 dollars, while a 120 g zune is like 240.

iPod/iTunes ring a bell? MS had something else that did not do well called Play4Sure. They've abandoned that and basically made Zune/Zune Marketplace because iPod/iTunes business model works. Zune 8GB/4GB is basically a copy of iPod Nano 1st gen with Zune controls and different colors. Battery not removable. Most players have removable battery. You can differentiate the specifics of the hardware, but the concepts are where it counts and MS has copied again.

You've missed my point. The iPod/iTunes/iTunes Music Store is a concept MS copied and made Zune/Zune sw/Zune Marketplace. The form factor of the iPod Nano is copied as a form for Zune flash based players. You can point out the differences in HW and SW but MS still used iPod as a model to design from. That's copying. Nothing wrong with that. Zune does ok as #3 in the MP3 market after SanDisk. Why do you need to buy another Zune?

Good point. iPod by no means is the first MP3 player. But its overall design made it more accessible and desirable to more people. Being first with an idea does not equate success. China created gunpowder. But they did not develop it further into guns. Similarly, Creative and others created MP3 players first. But they ignored usability, transfer speed (USB 1), storage capacity and sex appeal to the consumer market.
yeah i have a zune and it's ten times better then the ipod. cooler colors. the ipod has alot of settings and its kinda confusing to use. for examply, you go to the main, then estras, then games, then open more pages of stuff. complicated

Well, if you are a Mac user, forget about the Zune, because the Zune software only works on PC's. If you have a PC, then you can consider the Zune 8GB. Although I love the Zune, iPod Nano 8GB has a very nice form factor, meaning that it is small in size and easy on the pocket; the Zune 8GB is also very thin, but a little tall and hard on your pocket, Both devices are thin. Other than this, I can't advice more for you to buy a Zune; it has all iPod's features and more, for the same price. :)

i like my zune it really a good mp3 player it's 80 gigs and excellent and beautiful screen it's really cool, but the bad side of it tha those preieum headphones and the music videos are currently a problem. if you work out almost everyday, then one of the heads will no longer work, and i cannot download any music videos even through they came out with the new software. it's very sensitive

well Microsoft UK has been stated to say they have no plans to sell the ZUNE in the UK an another thing is i used the origanal ZINE and it sucked didn't work with my mac i get it working in Linux in the end but not sure what the Zune 2 is like i hope it works better with Linux and works with the Mac if not then then it sucks but from videos i have seen it look better than the iPod classic & Nano

iPod/iTunes ring a bell? MS had something else that did not do well called Play4Sure. They've abandoned that and basically made Zune/Zune Marketplace because iPod/iTunes business model works. Zune 8GB/4GB is basically a copy of iPod Nano 1st gen with Zune controls and different colors. Battery not removable. Most players have removable battery. You can differentiate the specifics of the hardware, but the concepts are where it counts and MS has copied again.

You've missed my point. The iPod/iTunes/iTunes Music Store is a concept MS copied and made Zune/Zune sw/Zune Marketplace. The form factor of the iPod Nano is copied as a form for Zune flash based players. You can point out the differences in HW and SW but MS still used iPod as a model to design from. That's copying. Nothing wrong with that. Zune does ok as #3 in the MP3 market after SanDisk. Why do you need to buy another Zune?

Good point. iPod by no means is the first MP3 player. But its overall design made it more accessible and desirable to more people. Being first with an idea does not equate success. China created gunpowder. But they did not develop it further into guns. Similarly, Creative and others created MP3 players first. But they ignored usability, transfer speed (USB 1), storage capacity and sex appeal to the consumer market.

well i had an ipod nano but it broke cuz i downloaded music from another site.I asked ppl an they said that zunes are better cuz they had more quality and they let u upload free music from anywhere on the internet.the zune sofware lets u handle ur albums easier than in itunes,simply right click on the album cover and u can change the arists name,cover art and much more(the same thing for the songs).
all tec geeks say that zunes are better :)

Well, if you are a Mac user, forget about the Zune, because the Zune software only works on PC's. If you have a PC, then you can consider the Zune 8GB. Although I love the Zune, iPod Nano 8GB has a very nice form factor, meaning that it is small in size and easy on the pocket; the Zune 8GB is also very thin, but a little tall and hard on your pocket, Both devices are thin. Other than this, I can't advice more for you to buy a Zune; it has all iPod's features and more, for the same price. :)

zune has more features and is more user friendly and then again more space is really good to have but you have so much stuff that you can't possibly use with the battery life on either, the space on the 160 is the only thing that is good at all about an ipod classic I would know I have an ipod classic zune wins.also people with ipod touchs this dosen't even fall onder your category.

Buddy, it is really only 2 mm thicker, I swear both feel exactly the same on anyone's hand. Both Apple & Microsoft didn't invent the mp4 player; just like in cars, there is no innovation evolved when you chose a good car, it's about the number of features and a good price, and from what we can all see, the Zune team is giving everyone "more" for the same price! I don't see how that could be bad! And yes Zune was influenced by iPod, but remember that also Apple was influenced by older companies!

Nintendo, for example, is a great company, and Microsoft comes along and competes with them with the X-Box. Apple decideds to revolutionize the music industry and created the iPod, and Microsoft makes the Zune four years too late. If Apple uses the term "iPhone", that doesn't mean that I can't use the word "phone" anymore in any product or service.
Apple started using "Pod" and people now know it or relate the iPod to it; just like the word "Windows" in computer world, which is used for any OS out there nowadays, and again, this doesn't mean that Microsoft should take credits for the word "Windows"! :)

i like my zune it really a good mp3 player it's 80 gigs and excellent and beautiful screen it's really cool, but the bad side of it tha those preieum headphones and the music videos are currently a problem. if you work out almost everyday, then one of the heads will no longer work, and i cannot download any music videos even through they came out with the new software. it's very sensitive
