  • Very nice video. Thanks for sharing

  • I have watched this over and over again, always makes me melancholically (realwords and that) happy. x

  • Nice vid Marion, I'm a Breton in exile on the other side of the Atlantic. I wish I could see the cost of Brittany once more. Maybe someday I will come back home...

  • There was something so amazing about the clip at 1:13.

  • I love this video. i keep watching it! haha

  • Bretagne is a lot like Quebec, the irony though is they are both separatist!

  • Love it *-*

I'm from there, Lorient to be exact.

I love this place and I just adore this video<3

  • YAY, ANOTHER SEXY GIRL!!!

  • nice video, nice song.

  • This was amazing, and made me miss the time I spent in France. I just spent my junior year living, coincidently, en Bretagne. A Saint-Brieuc. And I recognized quite a few of the places where you were.

  • stunningly beautiful.......could watch it all day....

  • Wow, that was awesome. Reminded me of an independent movie. Like those hazy transitions scenes. Or the intro where it shows you the persons life on quick snapshots. Very cool.

  • This video is beautiful -you've inspired me to take some film classes at school. It's so amazing to me how technology has advanced since I was a kid, now you can make very professional looking films and with sites like this, even get them viewed by thousands of people. It's so awesome, I love it!

  • this montage is so beautiful and has me reminiscing on joe wrights take of pride and prejudice. its lovely! really, and im amazed at your 7 weeks of english silence. I'm not so sure i could do that.

  • Yeeah I was in Bretagne too this summer ! ;) and it was coold ... :( buhuu...

  • I loved this!

  • 5 stars for awesome inspirational video!!

  • i wish i could do that but i'm absolutly terrible when it comes to languges probably not a good thing since i'm going into international affairs

  • Might this be a fellow I.U.H.P.F.L. member? Nice video, by the way.

  • loved the video.

    music was very great.

you kinda look like/remind me of Emily Browning.

  • @mogaamogaa i was thinking the same thing

  • really beautiful :)

  • wow, this is beautiful... it's inspiring... and i know that sound so lame, but seriously...

  • Thanks a lot for posting this. I spent a semester in Rennes in 2007 and this made me remember all that I love about France. Moi aussi j'ai du parler juste en Francais avec ma famille d'accueil, mais j'ai parle "franglais" avec mes amis americains. Je reve y aller encore.

  • that was beautiful.

i had to spend a couple weeks in france last year. i loved it. stayed in aix.

    beautiful city.

    where exactly is bretagne?

    north of france?

  • Bretagne makes up the northwest of France.

  • Awesome!!!!

  • Elle est jolie, d'accord.

    Long time no see. :-)

  • This is amazingly beautiful :)

But I have one question. I know that the music is from Kevin MacLeod, but I can't find this piece. What is the song title?

    Regards

  • Blue Paint, je pense.

  • Thanks!

  • I know that I just posted...but this is seriously art in video form. Beautiful and touching.

  • I love the music and the sound of the wind blowing through the field. Ah. Peace.

  • that was breathtaking

  • Oh wauw you are beautifull 8|

  • Hey, when you say you didn't speak English for seven weeks, does that mean you we're silent for seven weeks, or could you speak a different language?

  • I could only speak French. Silence would have been interesting though.

  • So you can speak french!! That's cool...

Or maybe it was a "torture"?! :O

And the video is so beautiful, I've gone to Bretagne last year, but it wasn't as sunny as in your video.. It was pretty cloudy and rainy.. T_____T

Sorry if there are some faults.. I'm french.. :)

  • @marionhoney I guess that would mean you'd have to mime your way through France. Haha!

  • cute

  • this is the most beautiful, powerful, best editing, best pics and gorgeous vid on youtube i`ve EVER seen. and i`ve watched a lot vids.... :) marionhoney i wanna marry you!! :))

  • i know this song's by Kevin MacLeod.... but what's its name??!?

  • ah 1:22 with the pause... goosebumps.

    thank you marion

  • Just out of curiosity, was this a studying aboad thing? And was that the reason you had to agree not to speak english?

  • Охренеть!!!

    В смысле,It's beautiful!!!

  • amazing..really loved this.

  • i loved this so much. i spent my holidays in new caldedonia speaking french as well!

    =]

  • This is really amazing !!! 5 stars. I was wondering what camera did you use to film this ?

  • i love the cinematography in this

    it's fabulous

  • You were in France?

France is awesome, French people are awesome.

One thing I want to ask you: have you tried Nutella while you were there?

You can get it in US but from what I heard it is not that popular as in Europe so the France was right place to "get in touch" with it.

  • I did try Nutella there for the first time and became obsessed with it. & then sick of it as I finished off the entire jar. It was my breakfast/snack staple. My favorite pairing was with brioche :]

  • Nice!

Yes its very seductive, Ive eaten it in various combinations & I like them all.

I will definitely have to try peanut butter when/if I come to US, I haven't so far, can you believe it?

Stores in Croatia don't even sell it.

But I actually like such type of differences, land is land wherever you go, people and cultures are worth of exploring.

  • France doesn't have peanut butter either! I actually brought my host family some, but they didn't like it at all. Said it was too sweet. Hah, I think my mom tossed it in the trash, hoping I wouldn't notice.

  • I taught peanut butter is salty :D hehehe

Germans would definitely love it, they put sugar in everything they eat, even some meals with meat!

    Germans are sweet people :D

  • 2009 summer soon End.

  • So beautiful. Does this mean you're back now?

  • Oui?

  • love it

  • that was nice

  • ive always wanted 2 go 2 brentagne.....

  • Seeing that cemetary gave me thoughts about the horrors of groundskeeping.

  • looks like you had an amazing expierence

  • this would make a good music video, or u could have

  • Did you let yourself think in English though? Sometimes I try and think in French too so I can learn it better.

  • You mean, did I let myself think in English while I was there? I obviously did innately because it's my native tongue, but I tried to block it out or even mentally correct what I had thought in English with the French translation. I really encourage trying to think in another language because it does make picking it up easier.

  • Beautiful :)

  • dear marion, what kind of camera did you use to shoot this?

  • So, so gorgeous.

It's videos like this that remind me how much I love YouTube in the first place. Very breathtaking.

  • Marion, this is stunning.

    Je t'aime.

  • What piece of music is this?

  • Marion. . .this was simply beautiful. I am so jealous that you got to go to France. I however would not have survived because I do not remember really any French. . .so "Can I go to the bathroom?" would be what I was limited to. Lol.

  • wow, this is insanely beautiful.

I was in normandy for one day this summer, on a european tour with my choral group. We sang at the american cemetery, and it was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

  • i got chills! this is beautiful, marion.

  • How surreal.

    You are wonderful.

  • Mahalo nohoi ia oe no kena. Piha ko'o na'au....

  • Awesome. :D

  • That was the most incredible video I've seen in a long time.

I know exactly what you were going through. I did a student exchange to France (in Alencon, also in Normandie) for three months, and I too wasn't allowed to speak English. I went to school and everything too while I was there. You captured Bretagne so well. I've been to a lot of the places in your video, too, so it was fun for me to see everything represented like that.

    A plus tard!

  • God, Marion. This is beautiful.

  • wow, this was stunning. :)

How long did you take French in order to go on the trip and survive in France for seven weeks?

  • Most kids had taken 5 years of French, but I've only had three. Honestly I basically went in at an infantile level.

  • Wow - that is honestly one of the best things I've seen on YouTube ever. Well done!

  • its beautiful

  • Tres bien :) J'aime votre vidéo.

  • This is absolutely beautiful. I love it.

  • Why are you not in film again? ;)

  • That's really pretty. The editing was amazing and I am so jealous of what you got to see and do. Can you think in French now. xD

Your videos like this are so vimeo quality.

  • I was thinking only in French when I first got back, but it's practically gone now :[

  • Nice work! Beautiful editing.

  • odd that your side bar comments said "youtube Nazis" while you were showing the crosses at Normandy. makes you what to say 'hmmmm'

  • beautiful

  • This video reminds me of how much I want to travel and makes my heart ache for the sights you beheld. You are incredibly lucky, and I envy you. I hope your summer was fantastic. =]

  • wow.

  • That was beautiful, Mar. I liked the music, and you used it really well. Miss you. Glad the US has you back.

  • Yay! I missed this!

  • I can't really figure out why, but that was memorizing, I watched it a few times, and just thought it was beautiful.....

  • A good writer makes his readers wanna read more, wishing the book was thicker, the story continued, or simply buying the next book as soon as it's out.

This video has a similar effect on me :) so in true 21st century web-style I shall say:

    MOAR PLZ!

  • I forgot how incredible you are...

You express beauty and emotion so perfectly!!!

  • absolutely beautiful and brilliant.

and im also kind of in love with the fact that i recognize some of the places. (went to paris/normandy for spring break)

i cannot imagine what it would be like to not speak english for 7 weeks. kudos to you! (:

  • I've watched this four times, hoping I'd find words to express how I feel. No luck.

  • cimetière de St Laurent a 1.00 ?? :)

  • i do not have words for how awesome this is.

  • That was really nice, and you must have a very nice camera! I could see the little creases on your hand. / I should start making more "elemental" videos, or whatever you prefer to call them.

  • Oh ma gosh. It's a video!

And a very beautiful one too.

    <3

  • Very nice! Welcome back. I'm going to paris tomorrow :)

  • It looks beautiful there. I don't think I could go seven weeks without speaking English. But then again, I can't speak another language.

  • beautiful video!

  • This is gorgeous! Simply Beautiful.

  • omg this was such a cute video C: luved it.

  • That was amazing, if I was still in cinematography i'd totally quit because of how good this is.

  • Beautiful.

  • so, so beautiful. but ahhh, i am so glad you're back. i've missed your videos! you should makes lots more. <3

  • what kind of camera do you use by chance?

    excellent video by the by.

  • That was so beautiful!!

    :]

What were your first words in English after the 7 weeks you couldn't speak English??

  • God, this is such a good questions. I wish I could remember or had thought to write it down. Probably when the American customs guy asked me what kind of food I had brought back, and I proudly answered "candy and baguettes."

  • Hah, Welcome back Marion. Its been a while..

    Great video, As usual!

  • Marion - what kind of camcorder are you using? And what editing system? I love your work.

  • I didn't want it to end. Thanks for the day dream.

    <3

  • That's amazing.

Eh bien... je dois aller à la Bretagne maintenant!

(Mon français est très rouillé. Pardonez-moi?)

  • Yeah !!! Marion is Back!!

    Almost French: le manufique!

  • That's so beautiful!

What language did you have to speak instead?

  • I'd imagine French. Or if she couldnt speak french, then there would be a whole lot of silence :-p.

  • great video

  • I love this video the song is beautiful also =]

  • C'est vrai.

  • wow gorgeous, i love your editing

  • everyone's already said it, but i'll join them anyway. :)

    beautiful.

  • hmm never got the American obsession with France but if you had a good time that's all that matters really

  • Beautiful.

  • sooo so so beautiful =D

  • Magnifique! I've been through the exchange to France experience too, and it is so unforgettable. I found the first few weeks after I got back the hardest. It's difficult for people who haven't gone through it to understand.

  • i really enjoyed that

  • Buu, where are Marions followers?

Btw: Sorry about a short comment earlier, but I just couldn't condense my joy of your (even if single) come back any other way.

The movie reminds me of my place in Poland and should remind anyone that we are surrounded by a great world, we just have to open our eyes to it.

Anyway - if you want to come back, please do, however I want what's best for you, so should you decide not to be with us - I will support it.

    NYAAAAA MARIOOON ;]

  • that was gorgeous!
