i think they should have made the fight harder with a time limit or something and have supernova as the final move killing everybody and giving you the game over screen instead or at least have everyone at 1hp. In the japanese version the supernova summon is way less exaggerated without the planets and stuff.

Lol I wasn't even born when this game came out in 97. But let me tell you, just cast wall to begin with and save yourself the mp. The best way to kill him with strategy is to be at least level 60(to do it easily) have everyone's ultimate weapon and also get a better party. Best party is CID cloud and yuffie. Then at lvl 60 you have one healer who also acts as regen and wall caster, on magic dmg spells who also acts as a summoner, then cloud who should do 9999 dmg with every hit. He can cast the

I find it disappointing where the Super Nova does NOT Oneshot your entire team, though he just blew the whole solar system, makes no sense that their still fighting there on Earth, rly, should be Game Over right there, and he should only use it if you've failed to kill him within a certain amount of time or something similar. Surely, they could add a Huuge fking spell to wipe the team to 1% health, but for a scenario where he does this solar wipe ability twice is just yawn, 5 yrs later. Epic tho

@HDGamingDall They would have to extend the song or something cause one he has to much hp to get rid of him in the time before it cycles to supernova. what they could have done is for those who have used KOTR on Jenova he is given the move Supernova as punishment for using an over powered materia on a boss. plus by this time I think everyone should have ribbons so one shot death is nothing. better extreme gravity based damage than no damage at all. what they should have added was Sizure status.

I remembered beating this game a while ago. Safer Sephiroth was a fucker to beat. Though he only had round 100,000 HP, he really did it up. He Supernova-ed me 3 times, cast tons of Breaks and Pale Horses, and continually used Havoc Wing like hell. When the battle ended, I was lucky to win. I only had 1 HP for Cloud, Barret, and Red XIII, their MP was nearly depleted, and both Barret and Red XIII had tons of status effects, including Confusion. Meteorain won this hard-as-hell battle.

I remember this bit. I got this game for my birthday this year and played like hell! After a week 1/2 and 50 hours of gaming i got to Safer Sephiroth... HOLY FUCK is he hard!? Well hes the only guy I was stuck at in the whole game. 3 whole tries it took me to kill this guy. Compared to 1 or 2 with the other guys. Safer sephiroth was hell at level 53 but I persisted. The annoying thing is the super nova attack it almost kills you. Anyway i only had level 3 limits. I didn't know where level 4 was.

There's onething I find annoying when it comes to last bosses or very hard bosses, people keep going on how you always need the best weapons, armour, summons to beat them, that's just bull, all they take is a good stategy and the beat.

This boss, sure supernova is always on your mind wth the damage it does, but what you need to be worried about is frog, which then you can't use magic or summons

But I agree, it was incredibly lame to watch him use that ridiculous 2 minute long spell animation a total of 5 times during my first playthrough.

It should have been a one-off that gets replaced with some other similar strength ability after the first time the loop completes.

That way they could have ONE supernova and just replace it with something shorter later.

I've always thought of Supernova as an very powerful ultimate illusion spell. After all Sephiroth does specialize in illusions and mindfuckery. He creates a huge illusion in the midst of battle and makes the group believe that they are caught up in a solar-system destroying supernova, and does actually inflict a large amount of real damage on them via a fire spell or ultima or something, but even more because it's demoralizing. YOUR MIND MAKES IT REAL NEO. No? Yes? Maybe?

My guys are level 62...I'm using Cid, Cloud and Red.....and I got my ass beat. I think I only did 1/10 of his total health even though I burned my magic and items at full speed. Your characters actually have less health than mine do, but you are doing 3 times their damage and you have all of these weird materia. Guess I'm screwed for not knowing where EVERY special item was.

I just spent 3 fricking hours trying to beat this. I'm a higher level too. Had no problem with the mutant sepiroth, but when I got to "safer" seprioth I used all my items to stay alive and was consistantly doing over 5k damage to him for 3 hours and could not kill him. I must have done close to 100,000k damage atleast. Finally ran out of potions and junk and he slaughtered everyone after the 12th metor strike. WTF, why was he so easy for everyone else? (around level 70 BTW)

Something interesting, I have a Jewish friend, Sefirot is the "Tree of Life" (ten aspects of God) and it means limitless light... Sephiroth is the Latin translation of Sefirot. Also, in Hebrew myths... Sephiroth was a seraphim, and (if you believe in the Bible, which I do not) during the rebellion, a seraphim named Sephiroth rebelled, and lost all but one wing after pleading to God not to be banished. :)

Yep, you get KoR in a cave in the edge of the map. The island has mountains surrounding a forest, you can't land there. You need to breed a golden Chocobo to get there. All it takes is a plan someone cooked up, one afternoon of time, and craploads of spare money. I posted a guide about this to StrategyWiki long ago.

w- summon knights of the round so it attacks twice. this should finish him off if your players arent at lvl 99, if not mime it with another charecter.
