i've noticed something about the 'Idol' shows that tweaks my ironic sense of humour - whoever wins first place never does as well as the runner-up after it's all over. I love Adam Lambert, but I've got no frelling idea who Kris Allen even is. I can't help smirking about that. :-)
I find it absolutley appalling that you Adam Fans constantly bash Kris after 2 Years. You guys bash him like it was his fault that Adam lost when it wasn't. Kris and Adam are both very talented, both got record deals, and both got stardom, so does it even matter anymore? But I find it unfair that 19 Recordings has done nothing to promote Kris while they have been promoting Adam up the ass. Kris may not be that remarkable, but he is a great singer and they should treat him with respect.
Kris is talented too. He's just on a different level than Adam Lambert. Different styles. I prefer Adam Lambert. He's up there with Freddie Mercury and David Bowie whereas Kris is much more subdued which is ok too. I know they were competing against each other on the show, but I wouldn't really compare the two together since they are so different. It would be like comparing Taylor Swift to Joan Jett.

@johnphoenix17 I actually think that if you catch his voice in the chorus is because Adam just decided to stop singing for a while (chuckle). I am a big fan of Queen and during the years after Freddie's death I have listened to a lot of singers performing Queen's songs. In my opinion Adam is one of the very few who can actually in a way replace Freddie as a front man of Queen. :)

There is a theory that Adam did not win BECAUSE he was so obviously the idol. We home-viewers are not privvy to the voting process; we have no evidence of the numbers. Perhaps Lambert was already receiving so many other contract offers that, for his sake and that of the would-be runner-up, the votes were fudged to make Kris the winner. Thus, two winners, really.
My husband and I felt this way when Daughtry did not win. It seems the only logical explanation.

American Idol is not a singing competition. It is a reality television show. If it were only a singing competition the judges would be from Juilliard and not the American public. Kris has readily admitted that Adam has a more powerful voice. Watch Kris' face. He is proud of Adam's ability. Kris never felt threatened. Kris is excellent in his own way. I started out voting for Adam but changed to Kris because he drew me in. That's the beauty of music. It speaks differently to different people.

Yeah I agree he was the best. But I think it was fate that brought him in second. Kris Allen won but Adam Lambert got snapped up by Simon afterwards and signed onto his record label. Simon knew a star when he saw one.

@johnphoenix17 I actually think that if you catch his voice in the chorus is because Adam just decided to stop singing for a while (chuckle). I am a big fan of Queen and during the years after Freddie's death I have listened to a lot of singers performing Queen's songs. In my opinion Adam is one of the very few who can actually in a way replace Freddie as a front man of Queen. :)

It's a shame that no one can sing Freddie and Queen's song like Freddie. A higher Power sure knew what a unique and one of kind individual Freddie was/is. Thank you a higher power for giving us Freddie. Although I'm not of Freddie's generation, but I love and adore him all the same.

There is a theory that Adam did not win BECAUSE he was so obviously the idol. We home-viewers are not privvy to the voting process; we have no evidence of the numbers. Perhaps Lambert was already receiving so many other contract offers that, for his sake and that of the would-be runner-up, the votes were fudged to make Kris the winner. Thus, two winners, really.
My husband and I felt this way when Daughtry did not win. It seems the only logical explanation.
