  • Arnold is so high

  • Helga looks kind of like Bert from Sesame Street

  • i dont know why but it scares the crap out of me!

  • Anyone notice that lack of diversity in this? All the white characters.... but if they released this with no minority characters, that would be "racist." And thus, Gerald was born.

  • LSD is not addicting

  • :o wtf

  • This is Terrifying :|

  • I'm confused. At the end, it says it was recorded in 1965. Was the music just not made for the animation?

  • I REMEMBER THIS!!!

  • Reminds me of the Penny cartoons from Pee Wee's Playhouse.

  • @Danyel951 I think so too.

  • @Danyel951: It should. Craig did them too & future Rugrats composor Mark Mothersbaraugh of Devo was the one who composed the music for Pee-Wee's Playhouse.

  • It looks very Wallace and Gromit inspired.

  • @LuneyTune72 Actually. Arnold Escapes From Church. Which was the first cartoon and appearance of Arnold. Was released before A Grand Day Out. In 1988. Wallace and Gromit. Didn't made their first appearance. Until 1989. A Grand Day Out. Fun fact is that, Lisa Groening. Which is Matt Groenings sister. Maried Craig Bartlett. She helped him with the first Arnold short film. And this one to. And just to let you know. Matt Groening is the creator of The Simpson's. Heck this was created before that to.

  • @TheNatkidd Haha, you're right about the Wallace and Gromit statement. Of course I know who Matt Groening is and yes, I know that Lisa is married to Craig. You are wrong about about The Simpsons, they were airing on the Tracey Ullman show in 87' with Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo (Rugrats, Wild Thornberry's, etc. creators) were animating on it. I am very into studying animation history and especially the ones from the 90s. You can check out my creator family tree on the Kooka Macabre blog.

  • @LuneyTune72 Oh man. Sorry about that. Yes, i do know, that The Simpsons appeared in The Tracy Ulman Show. It's just that. I was thinking about their Spin off. In 1989.

  • That's so weird that I have seen all the Hey Arnold episodes and forgot about this until now. Crazy!

  • Holy S*&# I totally remember this!

  • Arnold is classy as fuck with that tie.

  • hahaha i remember this!

  • This was made in Portland, OR

  • im telling you. this is the reason why our generation is so fucked up today. we were all plopped down in front of a tv and because of stuff like this our minds are just warped. but i love it.

  • holy shit i remember this! didnt even notice it was hey arnolds precursor!

  • it's like that ring movie videotape

  • WOW!!! ahaha There's Arnold and Harold and Helga hahaha

  • Homer and Lisa Groening!! I didnt know that they work in animation media.

  • Clay Arnold! a doobie dabba doobie! Clay Arnollllllldddd

  • Arnold looks so cute in his little suit. :)

  • Arnold's dangerous when he's ice-skating....

  • This was featured on EastWest DVD's PUBLIC DOMAIN DVD Animation from Around The world! Viacom's gonna be maaad!

  • harold is so funny

  • Jajaja siemprea para alucinando..

  • Some creepy shit here. And yes, this was when Arnold was a drug addict. I guess in a way that would somehow explain his deflated head.

  • prototype Arnold was weird as fuck

  • creepy

  • the previous episode is of the mid 80s sorry not this

  • this is of the mid 80s

  • arnolds holding the flute wrong :P

  • is this when arnold was addicted to LSD?

  • @bschaf13 It's kinda impossible to be addicted to LSD. Like, you CAN'T be even if you want to. LSD won't affect you for days after you do it.

    Just sayin'.

  • @MichaelAndrewSapp Physical addiction no, but psychological possibly.

  • Haha....did Helga burp before starting again?! LOL

  • it's cool how arnold's clay hair moved, blown by d wind frm d tuba.

  • I think I saw Rhonda at the beginning.

  • Is it my imagination or is Harold wearing a Jughead crown/hat?

  • Yeah.. And his Wife is Lisa Groening.... Erm.. Matt Groening's sister, and... Inspiration for Lisa Simpson D:

    She's also in the credits.

  • @milkbullet: explains alot, given millhouse's crush on her animated charicature on the simpsons & hekga's obsession, since lisa herself came up with the latter & the former just might be how craig might've been with lisa in reality

  • the music sucks :p

  • Homer Groening wrote the music for this short.

  • Yeah... Is kinda funny. Matt Groening's father... The inspiration for Homer Simpson wrote the musics.

  • @milkbullet: And Matt is obviously the "Bart". Aye Carumba, man! But seriously, love the connections. Bartlett is married to "Lisa" (her actual name, too), created Hey Arnold, animated for Sesame Street (as seen here) and Pee-Wee's Playhouse, & wrote for Rugrats (Pee-Wee composer, Mark Mothersbaraugh, also composed for Rugrats, ironically) before making Arnold a Nicktoon. Bartlett again works for Henson, producing programs like Dinosaur Train alongside his own endeavors.

  • @TherealRNO Wow... That's interesting!

  • @milkbullet: Yes, it is.

  • @TherealRNO it's "Ay caramba" dude, your spanish is terrible

  • ahhhhhhh good times..good times ;]

  • I definitely remember watching these

  • omg i remember this!!!

  • just one advice :

put the copyright to VIACOM , youtube can close youre count . Actually they did it with the user who used to have all this videos

  • @minimalista12: Viacom only owns the cartoon series. The claymations aired on Sesame Street, so Sesame Workshop owns them. Sort of like how Disney nows own Kermit, but yet lets vintage specials from Sesame Street and other Muppet family crossovers occur out of respect for Jim.

  • OMG !!

i cant believe that actually somebody can have this video , i been looking for it

  • this IS claymation however it seems a bit like cheating, as its 2d, i was expecting something along the lines of Wallace and Grommit

  • Wow! I once heard the original "Hey Arnold!" was done in clay, but I've never actually seen one of the real short films before. Thank you for posting =)

  • Harold makes me laugh.

  • wow!!!

is the first chapter of arnold?

  • what waltz?? it´s a ice skating!!!

  • the song is a waltz
