This game had so much potential. EA clearly rushed this game, judging by all of the bugs and imbalances in it. The servers are buggy and the online community is overall very unhelpful to players willing to learn how to play. When EA tried to fix it by patching it, they failed miserably, and then they forgot about it. So this is what we were left with. The potential of this game was clearly realised, sice mods were made for it (e.g Shockwave, ROTR). What I will never forgive EA for is CnC4.
Only some retarded hardcore CnC fans think Generals sucks. Generals & ZH is the best selling (and of course best quality) CnC game. Second is RA2, other things are crap (not about storyline, but game quality itself). Just telling the truth.

I donlt like the building aquisition feature of Generals. With one upgrade regular infantry can take any building nuetral or opposition. I hate that because you can flood your oppositions camp with infantry and take some key buildings.
In the past only engineers could do that and they are more expensive, slower and can't fight. That was realistic.
I love Generals-Zero hour and C&C 3-Kanes Wrath but get the point at how these games have changed not usually for the better. .
Zero Hour is good. The best generals game even though it is an expansion. I think that every single Command and Conquer game is good but Command and Conquer 4 is such an Epic Fail.

In my honest opinion, I liked C&C 3, it was fun BUT! It lacked ALOT of essential things. You know in game businesses, your supposed to draw your costumer in and make sure they are satisfied and will keep being interested in the game, such as Tiberian Sun or Red Alert. But in C&C 3, it was fun for the first week or so, but then you get bored.
The only c&c game I have played is generals ZH and I loved playing vs my cousin it was awesome. I never played anything westwood made maybe i should try someday.
Tiberian sun was completed. Westwood should never have signed on the dotted line with EA. I may not like EA but I don't like stuff like this. I don't see anything wrong with TS.

I actually liked Zero Hour but I agree EA sucks. They screwed up C&C4 so badly that I am not sure if I want to even finish the game. EA has also screwed up the Mercenaries series and Pandemic studios in general. I just hope that they do not ruin Mass Effect 3, one of my favorite of the newer game franchises.
Why does everybody hate EA? I mean they are bad right now, but didn't EA bring the Classics? C'mon, 2003-2007 was the age of EA. C&C Generals, Zero Hour, Tiberium Wars, NFS Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, Crysis, FIFA was good then for both PC and consoles, NBA was quite good for the time, EA released quality stuff! Nowdays, I have to give you credit - C&C4, NFS Undercover and Shift, FIFA 2010 on PC omg, NBA no more on PC, I could go on. But the time you're talking about is EA gold. :)

C&C3 didn't suck, it was the best strategy game in 2007 and a great successor to the series, they focused a lot on the story and I loved it, the visuals were stunning for 2007, but it's greatest thing was the fast-paced, mind blowing gameplay. Thumbs up for the OLD EA.

What made CCG and ZH so great was the ability to harass, unit lethality. With one unit you can completely cripple your opponent's economy and builders, you have to be on your toes the entire game. While in CnC3 onward you have armored harvesters that can soak up tons of damage and a completely inharassable, base building fortress, the MCV. The risk/reward concept is just not there.
@wooferpoofer Yes, C&C Generals & Zero Hour point was to play micro, if you take in account some of these (GLA Stealth, China Tank), they can be very different and fun to exploit in many ways.
In CnC3 they reduced the health of harvesters in later patches and MCV is actually pretty easy to destroy, once you get your moves straight. The risk/reward is excelent micro EA demands from you, or just playing a mediocre game, setting up a base, some expansions and building a big force. Character choice
After C&C 3 I vowed to never again give any money to EA, in fact I encourage people to steal as much as they can from them.

Well I got Battlefield 2142 for my bro for Christmans... needless to say I found out the hard way it sucked.
Then came C&C 3, I got that for myself....apart from the game having really good graphics, it felt like it was really half assed done. Then to top that, I downloaded patches for it then I could not play it anymore because It did not like hacking tools on my PC.
Who the fuck is EA to tell me what I can and can not have on my PC!!!! I buy your shit, you treat me right damn it. I sent them a nasty gram telling them I will never again buy another of their product and since then I have not, in fact I torrent and man I happy I did because Kanes revenge sucked, and RA3 lol apart from only playing halfway through then deleting it from my system, they screwed their customers by not giving them the full key in the manual lol.
Funny video. That's about it. Yeah pirated versions of the game are glitchy, but generals wasn't bad at all. Failure to complain about anything that mattered. The game was great.

i play a lot zero hour - and i like it, even though i admit that ther is many stupid bugs, and the online part is really non-professional made.

1: if EA actually did that they could milk out a bunch of games in under a year, by keeping everything the same except the graphics
2: ever heard of mods? there are a bunch of them for C&C3, RA3 and zero hour, alot of them are total conversions making old C&Cs with better graphics,

generals and zero hour WERE good games, with potential. EA doesn't support them which is why they are full of bugs, ripe with cheaters and horribly imbalanced. We bash EA because they're money grubbing whores who, instead of supporting their games and providing a good multiplayer experience, just continue to release crap game after crap game, slap "CnC" on the box and make millions. CnC3 and onward were particularly awful because they reverted back to the boring MCV game play.

I actually liked Zero Hour but I agree EA sucks. They screwed up C&C4 so badly that I am not sure if I want to even finish the game. EA has also screwed up the Mercenaries series and Pandemic studios in general. I just hope that they do not ruin Mass Effect 3, one of my favorite of the newer game franchises.

Why does everybody hate EA? I mean they are bad right now, but didn't EA bring the Classics? C'mon, 2003-2007 was the age of EA. C&C Generals, Zero Hour, Tiberium Wars, NFS Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, Crysis, FIFA was good then for both PC and consoles, NBA was quite good for the time, EA released quality stuff! Nowdays, I have to give you credit - C&C4, NFS Undercover and Shift, FIFA 2010 on PC omg, NBA no more on PC, I could go on. But the time you're talking about is EA gold. :)

@Flyinghotpocket That's only your opinion, I'm talking about the whole opinion about the games; an overwhelming majority thinks that C&C Generals is pure gold and it was announced as the best in the series in many, many reviews.
C&C3 didn't suck, it was the best strategy game in 2007 and a great successor to the series, they focused a lot on the story and I loved it, the visuals were stunning for 2007, but it's greatest thing was the fast-paced, mind blowing gameplay. Thumbs up for the OLD EA.

What made CCG and ZH so great was the ability to harass, unit lethality. With one unit you can completely cripple your opponent's economy and builders, you have to be on your toes the entire game. While in CnC3 onward you have armored harvesters that can soak up tons of damage and a completely inharassable, base building fortress, the MCV. The risk/reward concept is just not there.

@wooferpoofer Yes, C&C Generals & Zero Hour point was to play micro, if you take in account some of these (GLA Stealth, China Tank), they can be very different and fun to exploit in many ways.
In CnC3 they reduced the health of harvesters in later patches and MCV is actually pretty easy to destroy, once you get your moves straight. The risk/reward is excelent micro EA demands from you, or just playing a mediocre game, setting up a base, some expansions and building a big force. Character choice

After C&C 3 I vowed to never again give any money to EA, in fact I encourage people to steal as much as they can from them.

Well I got Battlefield 2142 for my bro for Christmans... needless to say I found out the hard way it sucked.
Then came C&C 3, I got that for myself....apart from the game having really good graphics, it felt like it was really half assed done. Then to top that, I downloaded patches for it then I could not play it anymore because It did not like hacking tools on my PC.

Funny video. That's about it. Yeah pirated versions of the game are glitchy, but generals wasn't bad at all. Failure to complain about anything that mattered. The game was great.
Command and conquer 3: Beautifully done, well balanced, smooth and solid gameplay, again, no solid complaints.
Complain-noobs fail once again to have a solid arguement. Get pro. scrubs.
