  • LOSER!

  • total lame BS. AND you shouldnt even be sugesting basic divers hit those depths on skanky swim suits single tanks and rec scuba gear, Your camera should be confiscated and your c-card ( if you have one) destroyed

  • That not 67m!!! That's more like 67 ft.!!!

  • I see no value in this video... if I owned U-Tube I would delete it as pure BS. Misleading and inaccurate to say the least. More like 221' in distance along the bottom, not depth.

  • you can still see vivid yellow (and almost orange on the comps buttons) no way this is 121, much less 221

  • That video isn't 220 feet, NO way... I've been to 110 right about that spot and it is darker than that... besides, those are singles and not BIG singles... the way those lads are swimming hard they would be through those singles in about the time that it took to film this at 7.3 atmospheres at the bottom.

  • I once dove in Molokini, I don't think it gets very deep unless your out of the crater

  • thats not over 60m

  • It looks like the Dive computer was set to Metric because the temp is celcius. It also shows the deco warning which means bottom time was exceeded. To the sceptics it could be real. What about the deco stop? One tank? Sure its possible. I think Id have more than one bottle at the anchorline and a 50/50 mix. 212 is really pusing it on nitrox not because of narcosis but oxygen toxicity. It's no contest to see how deep you can go. To sum it all up in one word.. Nuts

  • You need to take your Nitrox course over again.

221 feet on 22% (which is technically nitrox although only 1% more so than air) gives you a PPO2 of 1.7. That will kill you.

A dive to this depth would require a hypoxic mix such as 18% which would give you a PPO2 of 1.39. (And that is ignoring Narcosis but the diver does have a HE computer)

As to deco this dive requires 12 mins assuming 4 mins of bottom time and 18%. That's without using 100% O2.

  • I didn't say that 22% was the best mix You are correct 18 is god to 1.4PPo2 same mix down to 260 gives you 1.6 but why go that deep? I took the ANDI Course. I merely suggested 50/50 at saftety stop for added off gas. I take my course over every year anyway... LOL The question is will 1.8 really kill you? Depends on alot of physical factors. At 1.8 why chance it sure go to 1.8 if you want if you are in peak shape you may not die or you may have a grand mal seizure. Or like you said Tri-mix

  • Onto Trimix

    Mix (O2/He) 19/30

    Planned 221

    Cieling PPO2 1.4

    Maximum PPO2 1.5 (optional)

    Contingency PPO2 1.6

    O2 Max depth 227 fsw

No Narcosis or pulmonary and CNS O2 toxicity risks

I cheated and used a computer.... LOL

  • Cool and all. I just thought it odd you said 221 feet was "pushing it" on Nitrox. As we both get from DPlanner (or other) even 22% is too rich at that depth. Even air is too rich.

We both agree this dive (if as advertised) is folly. There are precautions avalable for these types of events and it would seem the poster of this vid did not follow them.

    safe diving,

    d

  • No.

  • Doesn't look deeper than 65 FEET.

And if it is deeper, at least wear a pony!

  • dude, there is no way that video was in over 200 feet... the water wouldn't be really cold and really dark. No way there would be that much light. The whole video's bs, you can't even read his dive computer

  • That doesn't look to be 67 meters. I can't really read your dive computer measurement units

  • 221 feet with a single tank? You'd suck that thing dry pretty fast.

  • i dont think they would go to 60 metres so lightly and with so little caution in britain or any other place where the temperature isnt still comfortable at that depth and the vis is so clear

  • Stupid i think a lot of divers do not appreciate the depth when they are in nice warm clear water theres still that same obsticle between you and the surface i mean what if one of them had a freeflow

  • Come dive in the North East... you will feel the 200 feet and think twice.

Having said that, for years lots of guys used simpler gear.

  • well i have dived in britain quite a bit and even 35 metres feels deep here when its real dark and cold but when i went to the red sea i found it was too easy to just get distracted and find yourself drifting closer than planned to your nitrox mod. its the warm clear waters that make it feel safe. i dont think id like to go to 60metres in britain

like you say divers used to dive with a single cylinder and no alternate source at all, all of the time but i think thats no excuse now

  • Doing a technical dive with recreational gear? Single tank on air that deep does not impress me the least. While this may seem pretty cool to divers who don't know any better, trained tech divers would consider this idiocy.

This is an example of what not to do, no matter how cool it appears.

  • I apologize for the harshness of my post but please consider using well proven technical diving gear and protocols that most agencies adhere to for these kinds of dives.

  • Mate, who cares... Don't be a tech diver wanker!

  • in the info box it says 'geting nitrogen narcosis by diving 221' was that ur intention, to get notrogen narcosis?

  • 3 cogl....!!!!!!!!!

  • You guys are fucking smart, lets dive to over 200 feet of water on a single tank. That sounds intelligent.

  • erm i think u would need more than just a 6 min deco stop, does anyone else agree with me?

  • Ummmmm..... Death much???

DUDE!!! OXYGEN IS TOXIC AT 187 FEET!!!

Ummmm.... I think I could hear dive computers beeping like crazy!

    damn! Not impressed at all!

  • Do you know what oxygen toxicity is?

  • there so much wrong with that i think you guys need some proper training to be diving that deep mabe double tanks as a start what happenes you get a free flow or somthing else

  • dude that mustve killed!!!!!

  • or rather felt weird

  • I´m getting narced by the music...:) Soo beautiful. Does anybody know what the name might be of the played song?

  • Nice video, I miss Molokini
