What these folks want to tell you is that because they're raised as "livestock" food animals that this is a normal and acceptable way of handling them. No wonder a large part of the population is choosing a meat free diet. It is in part a backlash against the brutality that meat animals suffer at the hands of these types of people.

I was a large animal veterinanrian for 8 years and most of my clients were ranchers. If I would have roped one of their calves or steers like what you see on this video. I would have been kicked off the ranch permanently. BTW, none of my ranch clients ever rode their bulls. Rodeo is not an American tradition. It originated in Mexico for entertainment, like bullfighting. Not very entertaining!
