@7c8f I agree! i went back and watched that part again and thought,"what is he talking about? looks fine to me" i will agree Toyota has gotten cheap with there finish.theres alot more hard plastic then in my 02 Sienna
umm,... i really disagree with this person.. shooo... minor miss alignments! what you thinking.. of course there is.. it looks better that way anyways! and why woul.d it need to be soft? if it was soft my siblings brake it by now!
This guy dont show what sienna minivan is all about.. and plus if this guy was so mean about sienna how come 2011 consumer reports have TOYOTA SIENNA AS THE MINIVAN OF THE YEAR?? This guy just racist to toyota...
This video is really convincing me to buy an Odyssey and not a Sienna. Toyota is very good but I'm sorry but Honda is definetly better with minivans. Now I love Toyota's Avalon, Camry, Highlander, 4runner, and Sequoia. Unfortunatley Sienna is not very good. The Sienna quality looks very messy and the places near the AC controls don't really look very 2011 like, it reminds me of a 2005 model car. Better luck next time Toyota but Odyssey just got the score for this year. ODYSSEY FTW.
What's with all the scrutiny over dashboard plastics? So the panel is hard; big deal. Toyota put soft touch plastics where they matter most--like where your elbows will rest. Fit and finish are subpar? REALLY??? WTF, I'm going to overlook an otherwise excellent vehicle 'cause of a few 'rough edges' or panels that don't quite align perfectly? I think this review is total horsesh*t. No car is perfect, even the most outrageously expensive. Nitpicking does not constitute a good review.
I have the perfect minivan design and the what-nots. The roominess of the Sienna, the Stow n Go of the Chrysler minivans, the entertainment of the Odyssey. If I gave a ranking of them here they are.
A good thing about Sienna is that its the most reliable vehicle Toyota has out and i don't even see the regular Camry in above average reliability lists anymore its quality might be going down.
Although I like the features of the new Toyota Sienna, and its typical Toyota quality and reliability, I don't particularly like its shape, particularly of its nose. To say that it's ugly (in my book) would be putting it mildly.
This review points out the bad parts of the sienna. Would you rather him just talk about all the good stuff? No. I want to hear him talk about stuff I may not like. This is an awesome review. Everyone else SHUT UP.
This review doesn't seem very trustworthy to me. The reviewer complains about the handling (which isn't terribly important to minivan buyers) and then he completely fails to mention that there is an SE version available with great handling! I shopped and researched Minivans for quite a while before we bought our Sienna, and nothin was this good. We waited for the Odyssey but I couldn't stand the way it looks. It's as if two different designers designed the front and the back, then welded it!
@ytj22 I agree. I've never liked Consumer Reports. They give good reviews of the cars they test, but they also expect you to decide based on what they find to be correct and incorrect on the cars. I'd prefer to do my own testing and make my own decisions on what a vehicle should and shouldn't do.
too many small design flaws that are inexcusable ... this is a typical example of an American design that has brought down the American auto industry. The Japanese won't have let that happen. Too bad, they should import the real Toyota minivan to America instead of having it designed here by unemployed GM designers.
If you're considering buying a minivan, wait for the 2011 Town & Country which is coming sometime late winter! the interior as well as the mechanical components--the two major shortcomings with the current version--are being completely overhauled. Leftlanenews has the best/most spy photos
Good, Runaway Toyota can't even follow up to a good design with an even better design. Take my advice, wait for the 2011 Honda Odyssey. You will get a more stylish vehicle, a safer vehicle with much fewer flaws, better fit and finish, and better visibility. Good Job Honda!!!!! You actually can make a good car, I was getting worries with the design of the new Pilot. Make it sleek and curvy.... Think Lexus RX and Mazda CX-9 to a lesser extent.
I compared vehicles for a very long time and the 2011 Sienna was clearly the nicest of them all. Consumer Reports is supposed to be unbiased and what they say gets alot of respect but I disagree totally with this reviewer and he appears to have an ax to grind. See the sienna for yourself, particularly if you are looking for the top of the line (Limited) its the best thats out there right now.
Tom is the best consumer reports reviewer.
