ah Jeannette walls- i read the glass castle :) its wierd all the books you were talking about Avalon? and the Liss Harrison novel..? Ive never heard of them. anyways loved the bell jar, depressing yes but the way sylvia plath writes is just..mm cant describe it. she's written a bunch of short stories called Johnny Panic and The Bible Of Dreams. one of my favourite peices of prose.. sooo bloody good! favoutrite book as a kid? Harry potter.. I know obvious but I grew up with it all
@razmataz13drums The Glass Castle is phenomenal. And yeah, Avalon was pretty obscure and Lisi Harrison's stuff was basically only huge with the middle school crowd about five years ago.
Sylvia Plath is my favorite! I have her unabridged journals, and everything she writes is just gorgeous.
I have actually never read Harry Potter. I know that's like book lover's blasphemy, but it just never happened for me. I'll read it eventually but I'm kind of afraid of loving it too much .
@FRAYEDjade yeah its great :) well it could really be a culture thing too, from your accent youre American? im english so it makes sense that even if they were big there they werent here :)
Sylvia Plath.. I know she's depressing but my god how she can put words together so stunningly.. haha wow!! such travesty!nah im kidding :P mm that makes sense in a wierd way.I think its not just that the story is good but the writing is incredible too. It works both on a kids level and for adults too.
