You can't STERILIZE a safety pin dude. It's not meant for shit like this. There is a reason they are like 25 cents a package. They have small bumps and ridges in them and most have been touched by a packager. Those germs get stuck in the small scratches and stuff and you cant get them out. Alcohol doesn't sterilize safety pins. They are dirty.

It's hollow and it the correct size to fit the jewlery in, unlike a safety pin, which is too small. Shoving the jewelry in an already dirty hole and tearing the skin can irritate&infect it.

You're not supposed to use anything alcohol or peroxide based when cleaning or sterilizing a piercing/jewelry because it kills not only the bad bacteria but the good bacteria AND the new forming cells. Using that shit actually makes it MORE prone to infection because you've just killed everything that was there to protect it in the first place. And that's only ONE thing you've done horribly wrong.

Dont use alcohol or peroxide to clean it. use salt water. or you can buy piercing cleaning spray such as H2Ocean. alcohol and peroxide slow healing.

The average safety pin is 20g which is the size of the stud i put in mine. It didnt hurt at all really, and its pretty easy to do.

ummm it doesn't hurt at all if yuu get it done by a professional and it's not supposed to bleed that much and the reason yur eyes water is because yur tears glands are there it has nothing to do with how well yuu handle pain my nose piercing didn't hurt at all and i'm not very good with pain so that tells yuu something
