actually...his sensei was 4th hokage didnt he? He developed with chakra manipulation Rasengan which naruto managed to learn. BUT 4th wasnt able to put in the rasengan his natured chakra so he could do ONLY normal rasengan. The fact is that in the newest shippuuden episodes Naruto learned new jutsu and its named Rasen-shuriken. It the most powerful jutsu eva combining chakra manipulation + narutos wind natured chakra.
