Agree the biggest problem today with sleds is that they have gotten too big and heavy. Now they are finally closing back on 400 pounds but are a long way off. What did a 75 RV 245 weigh? MUCH less than 400 I would think. Vintage sleds are cool - especially the oval trackers.
ya the way 2 go are vintage i race and i started raceing cvintage sleds when i was 10 they g right where youpoint them and they are the biggest growing snowmobile sport in the world
Well dude 500 pounds is not light. Machines today are junk. In the seventy,s a performance trail sled was about about 360 pounds and about 90 h.p out of a 440. The power to weight ratio was probably higher back then and you would not have trails all ripped to shit within a hour after grooming. And I would not want one of those 500 pound machines pounding me into the hay bails so you think ass hole!!!!!
I see I am conversing with someone who probably gets his mother to start his machine because he does not know how. Type in (Polaris Starfire) and veiw a video put up by WhiteFireArmy. Over and out ,watch and weep...
sure, suspesion setup makes it black and white for the first 50 ft.anyone knows that. obviously a sled with no suspension is going to win off the line, but horsepower to weight ratio? give me a break.
'75 245 rv weighted in at 320 lbs dry, 43 hp. These ldes are from a differnt class, but running at CPTC Beausejour.
