  • its just a pity that the alto's arent seen in this video and many of the others from this concert. its focused mainly on the sopranos and one misses out the full range of the choir.

  • @CorkerDoggy2214 They tell you at the beginning: It's a traditional Xhosa song, which I believe is one of the native tribes of South Africa.

  • @CorkerDoggy2214 Yes 4 years ago, the language is Xhosa one of south african language in Eastern Cape and western Cape with klicks (qa ,qe ,qi, qo ,qu.)

  • The language is a Nguni Language (Xhosa)

  • Hey! The GUY with the paris hat. It was a brilliant evening. You're a very energetic choir. Good luck on your journeys.

  • Hey! This is also a member of the Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus. I am so pleased that our last concert in South Africa was in such an amazing hall with such a wonderful choir! You really blew me away! I had a ton of fun singing Bawo Thixo Somandla with you as well. Also, thanks to Lauren(from the sopranos) for helping me with Bawo and being there when i was crying so much :) thanks for everything! You were great!

  • Hello this is one of the members of the Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus. Watching this video, gets me excited to visit to South Africa, which is what my choir happens to be doing this summer. We are excited to sing Bawo Thixo Somandla, when we are there and this video has made us even more pumped up about the trip! thank you very much Pro Cantu. We loved your singing!! :]

  • GECC represent1

I miss South Africa so much!

  • Pro Cantu has been invited to take part in a performance of "The Armed Man"

with Karl Jenkens (the composer) conducting, in the Carnegie Hall, New York on the 21st of January 2008. Joining them in this concert, will be choirs from around the world!

We appeal to anyone who might know potential sponsors to let us know urgently, because travelling there and staying in New York will be for our own cost, and it is hugely expensive in terms of South African Rands.

  • Pro Cantu's latest CD was released on Saturday 16th June. It is called Lux Arumque. Although Bawo is not on it, many of the songs from our tour to Malaysia and the Choir Olympics in China last year are. If you want one, you can order a CD from our website...

  • Yay! I'm so proud. My very own choir on youtube! Hopefully we'll get more videos on soon... Is it Francois that organised this? Well done!

  • Nice one!!!

Would be great to see more!

All thumbs up to Pro Cantu!
