  • I did this about 4 months ago, xbox is still working fine, thanks!

  • my 360 just flashes red, it had the rrod the day before and i held the sink butten and pressed the eject buttin 4 times and it was 0120 if i could remember, but then the next day it just flashed red and when i do the sink butten and eject butten it just opens and closes

  • Hi,could you help.I used 8 screws, 16 nylon washers, artic 5 compound.I did the repair process twice, still got the 3 rrod.did the sync & eject, got the code 002030 which was 4 red lights, 4 red lights, 2 red lights, 4 red lights, 3 red lights, then 4 red lights. How would you know if the sinks are too close to the board or to loose?Does it matter if the heat sink(s) look different than yours?Does it matter if I was given a replacement 360 after xbox repaired my 1st 360, then I got the no video?

  • hey, so i replaced the x-clamps following your video. I turned on the xbox and got three rings. shut it off, restarted and got 2 rings. Held sync button and pressed eject and got 0011. Please help bro, this shit is killing me. Thanks

  • hey i just did the xclamps fix and i turned it on like you have yours and i get the rrod on immediately, the fan does not run, the drive does not open all i have is the lights flashing, what should i do?

  • @Evolancer13 try turning it on and then hold down the controller sync button and then press the eject button four times, slowly. the lights will blink differently every time you press the eject botton. what you will get is a four digit code. 4 lights is zero, 1 is 1, 2 is 2, and 3 is 3. do this and write down that code and send it to me. it may be 0102 or 0022 etc....

  • @adex02 i got 0103, i googled it and its just like 0102 error code, is this an easy fix?

  • i know its been a while since i commented on ur video but before i used ur video to help me do the x clamp fix and it worked but now i got this e74 error with 1 red ring and im not sure which method to use. should i over heat it? (p.s. when i had the 3 red rings and the end i did not over heat the xbox) so if i do heat it will it fix any red reing permanently?

  • What happens when you hook up and turn on your xbox without the drive hooked up? I was told that xbox live is void and you will be banned!

  • Don't worry, as long as you don't hook your xbox up to the internet it won't connect to xbox live anyway. I have fixed over a dozen xboxes the way i have shown and have always played them on xbox live after, so i think it's just a rumor.

  • i heard this only works for a couple of weeks, is that true? im in the process of buying a rrod xbox to see if i can repair it

  • Sorry this has taken me so long to post but I have been busy in the real world. I have yet been able to find those screws you say are needed. I have been to several hardware stores and none of them have a large selection of Metric sized screws and washers, the one store that did have the M5 size only had extremely sort ones. The man who helped me said that the size I was describing to him( that I got from your video) was not possible. As such I am slightly disappointed. Any advise?

  • well he may not know about all sizes that are available. If they don't have them in M5, 10mm long then they just don't carry them. My local True Value has M5's from 8mm all the way to 14mm i think. If you have an ebay account or know someone who does then that is your best bet for getting the screws and washers as a combo. They might be a bit cheaper on ebay as well, considering some kits come with just about everything that i used in my tutorial. Try ebay if you can.

  • wow man, thanks alot this worked and wasn't that hard to do at all. just saved my buddy a few hundred bucks

    THANKS!

  • no probem man, glad i could help.

  • where else can i get the washers and screws from besides ebay?

  • You should be able to get them at Home depot or just about any good hardware store. Do make sure that they are 1mm thick or less though. The washers i used here were actually like .9 mm, which i know doesn't sound like much, but it does make a difference. i used a micrometer to check them. Together they were 1.8mm or about 72-73 mils. Basically: too thick not enough pressure on the chip, too thin too much and the heatsink can touch components on the board.

  • Could we use this technique to bring Michael Jackson back to life?

  • As much as i wish that were true, i fear that is impossible. I do happen to believe that you could bring him back with the nasty jelly stuff that is inside of a used diaper.

  • Alright, I have been waiting for you to post this. This seems good and I will give it a go on my next day off. I will inform you of my result.
