  • Tommy has gotten better but he still hasn't mastered the clean/growl switch..and neither has the sound technician in charge of his mic.....and if you think it sounds perfect, try going to an opeth concert

  • @soocool78 Lol, this was back in 2006. Watch the Sun of Nothing performance on Colors_Live. In the "A spaceman"-part he manages some switches with some insane skill.

  • @Mrcrazy80 i've seen em live multiple times, it has yet to be perfected

  • @soocool78 Doesn't change the fact that the entire Colors_Live DVD has the most perfect performance from anyone ever :]

  • Tommy's vocals have gotten a lot better over the years.

  • Fuckin man oooh god \m/

  • woah.... they performed this perfectly... so sexy

  • I doubt the vocals were altered on the album at all... Have you ever played in front of people? A live venue is much different atmosphere than in the studio.

  • The crowd seems kinda lame

  • Short hair!

  • why is the crowd so freakin lame?! I'm going to see them in September with Animals as Leaders and we're gonna tear the place down!

  • @Fraxxo21 agreed. i saw them with jfac and the ocean <3 and it was intense, i could barely stand by the end from how intense it was.

  • ok what is the crowd fuking sleeping? I could anyone sit still to such a fucking awesome song?

  • Back when four members have the same hairdo.

  • it kindof sucks seeing such a good band playing for such a lame crowd.

  • hahah 2:24 dan popping his head in the shot, such a funny look on his face

  • This band is amazing

  • What a lame ass crowd. FUCKING MOVE AROUND, ITS BTBAM FOR FUCK SAKE.

  • Why are you all freaking out? That's fucking stupid. These guys are bad asses. They don't give a shit what the fuck you all think. He's FUCKING SCREAMING AND BELTING ! OF COURSE THEY 'RE NOT FUCKING CLEAN! Plus everyone knows that they edit things in studio.

  • 1:54 that guitar riff is played so flawlessly, amazing!

  • @NicktheGuitarguy Everything is played flawlessley

  • I hate how the vocalist's the only one moving around.

  • lol @ 2:22-2:38

  • Best song ever

  • Worst crowd ever! I wonder if they listened the same thing that I'm listing. Damn! Bang your head, fuckers!

  • @fievelcafe I couldn't believe it either, but I think it was one of their first times playing it live so the crowd didn't know the song.

  • Votación nº100 = I like IT

  • At like 4:27 Tommy used the wrong lyrics. I think he meant "Cancellation" not "We will soon live in peace" lol

  • anybody alive in that crowd????

  • I love how the guitar part follows the piano part

  • Comment removed

  • They're concentrating more than I did on the ACT.

  • Your all silly. The crowd doesnt suck, they where just so amazed they couldnt move till the song was over >:T

  • Most of the time people don't move or mosh because we want to enjoy the music. Not be stupid and hit eachother in the nuts

  • lol i love how at 2:22 tommy just pulls out a blood curdling scream with almost no effort

  • 1:30 isnt that supposed to be "we surround all bodies"? haha. It's fun to see lyrical brain farts with your favorite bands.

  • I went to a BTBAM concert after The Great Misdirect came out. I noticed that the crowd sucked like a lot when I was there, maybe because they're so proggy it's hard to keep up with what's happening. But people suck at concerts anyway...all they wanna do is hold up their phones and cameras and upload it on YouTube. People are too much of a pussy to mosh it's just sad. Not at all like back in the day, I felt like I got money's worth though after I beat some folks up lol.

  • @SunsetEuphoria either that or they are musicians themselves appreciating the disgustingly amazing music they are playing...

  • @SunsetEuphoria not everyone feels like leaving a concert sore, I've moshed on occasion but when i go to see my favorite bands, i want to see them and not some fat fuck running into me.

  • @idontcare009 These people aren't even dancing!

  • Does that crowd realize where they are?

  • @JoeyWarrenOut it takes freshly dead people a while to realize they're in heaven

  • this crowd fuckin sucks. they deserve much better

  • 0:13 that's a badass.

  • Comment removed

  • Dusties sweeps fit in so perfect

  • they didn't show dustie sweeping : (

  • Does Tommy still use the same keyboard? I saw them in Omaha (Council Bluffs) and he had the "Jake Troth is my friend" keyboard, which was definitely big enough to be 88, but that one looks damn small. Maybe it's just the angle.

  • is this crowd lame or what? we were going crazy when they were at tremont

  • SO much talent

  • at the solo after 1:50 "left to diiiieeee" I always imagine someone riding a dragon into space.

  • @rockerdude29

    I always imagine a crazy-ass rollercoaster

  • is that a 20" bass drum?

  • baking cookies, delicious :')

  • those growls are so great, but the whole song is just beast here

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff

ofcourse its better on the album. you dont realize how many times bands reherse and re-try to get each song do you? when its live its on the spot, tommy has improved soooooo much live but this goes for any band. i saw mastodon with deathklok in october, brents vocals sucked live but studio wize their pretty damn good

  • thats a shitty ass crowd.

we went nuts when they came here.

  • I noticed the clean vocals weren't that good, or atleast in comparison to the album version.

Are they usually better than this during live shows, or what?

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff look at the date - this was in 2005. And if you had ever watched the Colors_LIVE DVD you would know how much Tommy has improved.

  • @neppah

2005? That's when Alaska came out. So you're saying that he improved that much in a few months, or the album version was altered entirely?

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff That wasn't what you asked.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff 'tis a lot easier to sound good on a studio album where you have multiple takes and can actually hear yourself, haha.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff Your retarded, thats what he was saying, colors came out in september of 07 he stated that over the span of two years he improved, go hang yourself

  • @dawnedeclipse

I dunno why you're talking about Colors, that's unrelated.

I'm talking about them performing All Bodies here in this video, and releasing Alaska within the same year.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff It's a lot easier to sing well in the studio than it is to sing live. =P I'm sure he was right on for recording for Alaska... but yeah, not so good during this show. He's definitely improved since then though when it comes to live vocals.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff

This was put out in 2005.

    Colors was 2009.

Is it that hard to understand that he improved over 4 years?

  • Comment removed

  • @BMXer75 Actually Colors was in 2007, Colors_LIVE however, came out 2008. About 3 years, that is.

  • @neppah Colors_Live has a lost of post-production, including vocal pitch correction. That DVD sounds perfect in every way, there's no way they just had a perfect night either. All the vocal harmonies were spot of and it's almost impossible sound like that live without the use of pitch correction. Either way, still an amazing DVD.

  • @9000Ryan Thank you! I thought the exact same thing but I love them too much to bring it up, haha. I was like, he's never that perfect live...

Still one of the only bands I've listened to religiously for the past 7 years.

  • @neppah r u kidding the sound quality sucks but the performance and the vocals ARE WAY BETTER THAN THE NEW DVD!!! WAY FUCKING BETTER IN 2005

  • @davidclark311 hahaha you dumb man. Tommy is my favorite vocalist. But if you listen in both times "Keeper of the stars, i hope to never find, we are just mortal souls, left to die." He's just off bad, I mean, he couldn't help it, I bet he had trouble hearing himself, but I bet he'd nail it and even sing it higher if he wanted to now. He's def gotten better.

  • @neppah Eh fucking men. the live colors dvd is one of the most epic/amazing/unbelievable things i've ever seen.

  • @neppah You can tell there is auto tune on the dvd and the cd.

  • @neppah i love how you put Colors_LIVE DVD, its so fucking amazing and everyone should hear it forsurely

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff

Tommys vocals have improved since the first 2 cds, but I still love every cd.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff you know the quality the recording of the concert isnt usually perfect so you could if this was a really good quality the clean vocals would soung better

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff Also, neppah meant that his live vocals have improved since 2005.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff Actually the vocals are great to me. He's on key, he's just got that crazy goat vibrato. hahah Which is hard to control for some people. I agree with that one guy, the Color DVD is amazing. But for real, those notes he's hitting are hard to do without falsetto.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff Okay, I take that back, the last time was off. hahah I posted that comment at the begging of the vid. But he has gotten way better. One thing about the Colors DVD though, he was wearing ear monitors to help him hear himself, but on this one he isn't wearing any.. Hard to hear yourself over the music. hahah last comment I swear. hahah :D

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff Yes they have improved tenfold to what they used to be. Their performances are pretty much flawless now. They put on a wonderful show.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff There are many layers on the clean vocals of this song that are hard to do live unless most of the band can sing while playing their instruments.

  • @BloodReverence only paul, dan and tommy sing.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff I think doing clean vocals during an concert full of such intense vocals is obvisouly much more difficult than in the studio. That stuff takes a toll on your voice.

  • @iDoCoversAndStuff he's an insane vocalist.. what are you talking about? this dudes nasty live..

  • when i saw them they opened with this and everyone instantly went nuts, i don't see why the same didn't happen here. they played the intro and imediately we started storming the stage

  • protest the hero rip off

lmao jk jk jk jk jk, stfu dont suck me dick over this comment i already know the story lol

  • goddamnit this band fucking rules.

  • Man tommy is awesome

  • This came out before Alaska.

  • Ya, this was definitely before Alaska was released.

  • when dan comes in shaking his head at 2:24 I almost died laughing.

  • 2:24 i busted out laughing!!!

  • @eKuL1995 lmao.

  • weak as shit crowd i would be going crazy

  • there awsome live they should come to Kansas City MO

  • Jeez !! That's terrific I need to see them live !!!

  • @00m4xime00 thats nothing compared to what show they put on now. They are 5 times better now.

  • I love these guys. They're fricken great. I just don't get what their lyrics mean.

  • their lyrics are the truth. tommy is very poetic.

  • That doesn't really tell me what's going on in this song.

  • hes saying we are all tools of the people in control ;] you should look up the lyrics

  • I have. I just don't understand them. I'm not good with metaphors. They're still brilliant, I'd just need someone to explain the lyrics of the songs to me.

  • more than just metaphors. figurative speech. like writing poems in english class haha. takes practice to understand

  • man that is so wrong.

  • Uhm you can do what you want in a concert, but these people were probably blow away by Between the Buried and Mes amazingness to do anything, like mosh and be a complete idiot. Maybe they wanted to remember the actual band playing instead of saying after the show, " dude I moshed so hard, THE WHOLE TIME!!! I all I remember is moshing!!! hahahahahah I'm such a man!!!" yeah fuck that shit.

  • thats exactly what i did when they came to my city lol

  • this was also before Alaska came out so nobody knew what it sounded like

  • @GabeLogan2000 are you sure? they played way too many songs off of alaska for it to be a pre cd show. also note how hard everybody cheers when they do alaska for an encore

  • This show was on 19th of July, 2005. Alaska came out September 6th, 2005.

  • ah well then I stand corrected. sweet concert still.

  • @thatdave123 he also said "check it out when it comes out" on the roboturner video

its just that alaska was a single, so everyone knew it

  • @thatdave123 silent circus special edition came out after alaska. i remember when they were on ozzfest in 06 and it was being promoted

  • Only just started listening to these guys.

    ive missed so much.

    metal.

  • Whoa, interesting. Tommy just played the ascending notes at 5:19 instead of it being ascending vocals.

I love this song so much. Such a shame the crowd in the video is so lame.

  • I'm pretty sure paul played them, but still

  • Oh, you're right. Momentary lapse of intelligence on my part. Ha.

  • haha did u expect him to get those notes live? haha i dont think so.

  • yea that crowd is horrible.

  • what a shitty crowd...

  • @CheukYen that was a good crowd, they actually listened to what between the buried and me was playing.

  • nice..what year is this

  • he's not as good of a singer live, but his screaming sounds identical to the recorded stuff.

  • He definitely gotten better at singing, I saw him live last night and there was major improvement from this video.

  • yea i saw them a couple weeks ago, he did get alot better.

  • this is some old shit, dude. From before Alaska came out. Check out the Colors_LIVE DVD.

I uploaded some of it on here.

  • paul looks so much different now. and that's one pussy crowd too

  • crappy thing is both times I ahve seen these guys crowd was exact same way. Everyone basically stood around. There was moments things got alittle hairy but nothing out of control

  • wow what a terrible crowd i would be headbanging so hard to BTBAM

  • it's funny how half of the crowd is heading banging and the other half is just like yeah i cool just stand here and do nothing ya thats cool

  • Or maybe the other half is.....

    LISTENING?

  • dustie needs more respect!

    shit 2:20 is so straight

  • the crowd is so dead

  • MAJOR CAMERA FAIL

  • man i love his voice

  • I love when the sweeping riff comes in and Paul ISN'T playing it, Dustie doesn't even get to be in the shot.

    Talk about fail.

  • wow you are right. failure camera guys

  • Yeah. I was actually about to post a comment about that till I saw this.

Your exactly rite, there's been other times when he's doin lead and he's not even in the shot... gay.

  • Metroid solo at 2:20!

  • this song alone got me into metal... so sick, especially at 2:19

  • FUCK! Lol, this song kicks so much ass! But I cant stop laughing at 2:24 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol ive never seen that before !!! screaming while playing keyboard

  • That is FUCKING AWESOME =D

  • what a sad crowd. all bodies

  • this song was new to the crowd at the time

  • yeah, but i think this was filmed before Alaska was released maybe no knew it yet?

  • 1:42 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • 2:24 lmfao

  • haha Dan's face :D

  • LOL

that's gotta be the funniest thing i've ever seen.

  • but amazing band =D

  • hrrible crowd. theyre just standing there.

  • im so happy this had pretty good quality. love this song.

  • they played these songs before they were released so they dont know the songs, at least the ones on alaska.

  • I have never heard something so FUCKING hard at 02:24

  • Thats prolly the most brutal moment to ever occur in human history

  • what about the holocaust

  • tommy just looks so tired in this song, haha.

  • Although Tommy does struggle vocally on this song, its still one of my favorites by them. Its just so raw and brilliant at the same time. I hope that they don't abandon this sound on their new album.

  • wtf kind of crowd is that im thats a AMAZING SONG and they r barely even moveing id be way more into it then them

  • Yeah the song is good but the crowd seems to like the MUSIC not hitting people in a concert

    dumbfucker...

  • this is one of the best cd/dvd's i've ever bought

  • p.s. that crowd fucking sucks.

  • yeah I know, right?

    What a bunch of fags

  • the crowd doesn't suck, btbam shows are known to have most if not all of the crowd just staring at them in awe for their brilliant musical talent :D

  • im sure btbam is much happier that the crowd is apprectiating the music and going to watch and listen and not instead paying attention to flailing their arms and taking out 4 people with spin kicks.

  • :38 they just fuckin slapped me in the face!

  • Comment removed

  • they are an amazing band, and i give them props for some awesome music, but they have the worst stage presence perhaps ever for any kind of a heavy band that i've seen anyway

  • It's hard to have stage presence when you're playing incredibly complex music. They're still very young and they will get better at it.

  • see colors dvd!!!

  • 2:21 is great XD

  • When he first songs clean, "People of the stars, I hope you never find", or whatever they are, he needs to learn to control his vibrato =\

But he is quickly going from scream to clean, so I'll give him a break.

  • Keeper of the stars, I hope to never find....

This is an old recording and Tommy's come a long way since this. Try watching my "It's Raining..." video.

  • The crowd REALLY needs to move around...

  • i wanna punch everyone in the crowd 10x over

  • Baking cookies...delicious... hahahahahahe says it at the very end

  • Awful looking crowd.

  • INCREIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Headbanging with short hair looks so... poor

  • dude i could care less about their stage presence, watching them play their music is enough. id rather see them stand still so i can see thier fingers flying then jumping around looking "cool"
