Too bad SONY wouldn't take the chance to market anyone but Micheal. They invested 2 much money in Micheal, and they didn't want sales to be split between them.
@megagreg38 Stay was the first single and video off the cd. I work on this project along with a very talented Robert Brookins who produce the CD project
This was a great cd, don,t know why none of the brothers albums never made it. Randy and the gypsies was unbelievable and "be the one" from this album has to be one of the greatest driving songs of all time.
they should have marketed Jackie and this album better. if someone would have thought of coining the term New Jack King to refer to him Jackie definately has the skills to sit up there with Teddy Riley Baby Face Keith Sweat and Maurice Starr if that was so the Manilli Vanilli scam wouldn't have been figured out til 2 years later then a blip weeks later being they would be covering his 91 release if he came out with another album he should have done one more
im a big time jacksons fan...and i never knew he made this record. This has got to be the best none jermaine or michael record made it fits his voice range
Jackie could have been a very big name in the New Jack Era. if they made a music video for this song I would have recorded it on VHS and wore the shit out of the tape
@rufus317 ya sure it wasn't for another song I heard they didn't make a video for this song. I swear this was the most poorly promoted album out there. this album had the potential to make Jackie bigger
I know I feel ya I didn't hear this til after MJ's death there's many good artists and songs of the 80's/90's I'm not hearing til now. due to lack of play or no play then again radio has never been perfect and never will be. not saying it sucked back then it knew a decient balance of play and played some good shit
but today it sux ass playing some kinda lame dance craze being repetitive no feeling writing sux and with the invention of auto tune we got Manilli Vanilli's on the airwaves
I'm shocked this didn't even hit big on the billboards he had the skillz to compete or knock out New Edition Soul II Soul or Janet for that matter no wait it would have been a sibiling rivalry on that chart
thinking on Manilli vanilli billboard was definately smoking crack that year if they weren't Jackie would be in their spot.
but then again I think the reason why this album never saw the success it should have was poor marketing. this album should have been released through La Face or another label and not polygram. this was the equivelent of going to Koch records and releasing your first album through them
All the Jackson's have talent, from the oldest to youngest child. Young people today who recognize talent as having 900 people on stage yelling lyrics that you can't understand are still trying to figure it all out. We are not all blessed with the same talents ie (Michael).
I love every Jackson made song (except Latoya I thought I was gonna die when I heard a song of hers) she should go back to work and predict my lucky numbers and see if I'm gonna hook up with Christina Applegate in my lifetime. mmmm milflicious
Never knew Jackie had a solo career until now! Just watchinng J5 's story on the TV guide Channel~ not too Bad! they had as a group the tightest Harmony, I thought the Five Stairsteps harmonies were tight, which they were , but the jackson was just as tight ,i can almost say it was tighter! those brotherS could Blow!!!
R. Brookins should have done him a second thrid forth and fifth album maybe throw some teddy riley in the mix a keith sweat duet bobby brown and glenn Mederios whatever album those duets appeared on would make that album multi platinum 10 times over
Jackie was a real soft spoken guy, but very serious man, we use to play basketball watch boxing he loved Sugar Ray Lenard. Back then had the pleasure to hang out with most of the Jackson other than Michael. Wonderful times back then.
is it just me or did all the jacksons have at least one nose job done....their noses were never point and more defined......hmm....lay off michael people
Yessir.. we are going to miss Mike. I had the honor on working on this album with Jackie Jackson with a good friend of mine Robert Brookins who also pass away 5mos ago. I did a song call Fine fine lady on this project. And recorded some other song with the Jackson for the 823 jackson street wonderful time in those days. Thanks Jackie we had fun.
Robert Brookins also produced Dale Bozzio's (lead singer of the new wave/rock group Missing Persons) solo cd, some Stephanie Mills work in the 80's and of course his own solo album. I had no idea he passed away. Thanks for mentioning that.
FYI Mike Dezeze stand for my last name for those who no me would no that. And I never said I was 26 I am not sure where u are getting ur info from but it's not cool
Me and RB where room mates for 2yrs in LA so I was there in the studio with Dale Bozzio, Duke, Bobby Brown and others we are from the same home town. Trust me I no the history first hand.
Funny.....hmmmm I am now reading the credits of Jackie Jackson's cd ''Be The One'' and The Jacksons cd ''2300 Jackson St" and i do not see your name on any of the credits under Mike Dezee. Your profile says yu are 26 years old. hmmm..... sounds a little fishy.
First who every u are my name is Mike Dailey I co- wrote Fine fine lady on Jackie's album I never said the credits read Mike Dezee u assume that. Second I said I worked on the 823 jackson street project I didn't say the music I did made the album. The bottom line I did that and have no reason to lie. No fish here
It all makes sense now. I do see your name on the credit as a songwriter along with Robert Brookins ,Jackie Jackson and someone named M. Brookins for the song 'Fine Lady'. I didn't say you lied but if if you look at your profile it does state that your age is 26 years old. That's why i said it sounded 'fishy'.
Jackie sound good on all his songs, and he look good. I will not say Happy Birthday to MICHAEL, because there is nothing happy about his birthday, he didn't see it, that is why we mourn him. I will just say MISS YOU MUCH MICHAEL.
all the jacksons boys are very good looking and telanted. MJ just was not happy with his looks cause of others who talked badly about him when he was a teenager. Happy Birthday to MJ u will live on.
Focus was so much on MJ when they were in the J5 that I never noticed Jackie. I mean I saw Jermaine (but he's not a WOW factor). Jackie, OMG, I saw him at the memorial and had to go and look up old pictures. I can't believe I ever missed his HANDSOME face! He has ALL the Jackson's boys beat in the looks department. Hands down!
When they were young, I felt it was Michael, Jermaine, then jackie, followed by the rest of the guys concerning looks and talent. Currently Jackie has aged the best, very hot. Although If Mike were alive surgeries or not , he would still be the hottest to me.
Why wasn't this song higher on the Billboard list back in '89? This song is very good and seriously catchy. The song's been stuck in my head all day. Jackie's voice is amazingly good even though it's not as powerful as Mike's. I don't like the common perception that if you have a soft singing voice that you "can't sing".
shifragri - Yes, case-in-point. One doesn't have to be really loud to be able to sing well. Sometimes subtle nuance is just as good.
attcenter - Yeah, in a way Michael's talent and popularity was (no offense to Michael, R.I.P.) kind of a curse to the rest of the siblings and family. They couldn't break out as big because since they were related to him everyone measured them by the bar Michael set. That's an impossible standard to meet.
Yea I know that. I just thought that the other members didn't get plastic surgery. How do you know that Jackie is the only member that didn't get plastic surgery?
this song is so beatiful I can't get it out of my head it's been a week now I feel like im in 1989 I wish I could go back damn this is a wounderful song I wished he naver quite is this where will smith got his song ?
Michael did have vitiligo, and regardless if he did bleach his skin, which he did not, the man has passed away and to speak ill of the dead is shameful. RIP Michael Jackson, King of Music.
Ok I'm going to try to post thsi comment again. Keeps disappearing.
I so agree with you about Jackie. I call him hella-handsome. The Jacksons are good looking people. I think its in the genes. Don't know why MJ made so many changes. He as well was handsome as he was. I'll never know.
Anyway, search for Tito and check out his blues bit. He looks and sounds great.
? I don't think the other Jackson's got surgery and bleached their skin. Latoya probably did because she looks exactly like Michael. The others didn't.
