There's really nothing wrong with marketers - if you control THEM instead of letting them control you. I think I'm seeing my last days at digg, unless they change real quick.
The banning of all those users sounds like they were preening people who they felt didn't fit the "profile", and just "came up" with reasons to ban them. Ridiculous.
Marketers have killed the audience that was there originally. This is digg sending a message to those community members that content rules - not individual marketers.

I was a power digger, 149 front page stories, dugg over 66,000 stories, made over 1,000 comments and got banned for using the digg boss script even though he designed it in terms of the digg API.
Geez, I didn't know there was so much Digg drama. I just watch Diggnation and Kevin and Alex on there just seem spoiled and overpaid as heck: "Aw, hey man, just got another computer!" "Oh yeah, I got got another CAR!" "Yeah, boy, we're just normal everyday people, aren't we?"
I dunno man, seems like some pretty weak sauce to me. You all should come over to the SA Forums, we'd be glad to have some intelligent new blood to add to our community, rather than some Anonymous trash from the Chans.
A bit preachy but I agree completely. Digg turned their back on their users long ago in order to boost traffic. What was once a good tech news site is nothing but a liberal/4chan niche site for tweens now.
Thank you for representing the banned diggers, Neal. I've moved to Reddit since being banned. Now Reddit will get the traffic and great content that I used to give Digg.
